I'm so happy we found this place. Dr. Barbara Campos was excellent at taking care of our sick dog. We found this place last minute after our regular vet made us wait HOURS as my dog was wining in the waiting room in pain (search my other reviews and you will see.) We were immediately brought into a room and taken care of. I appreciate the hard work of all staff working at this location. Thank you all for treating us so well after our bad experience somewhere else.

Impeccable experience at South Dade VCA. The front desk staff was friendly and professional. Dr. Torres was very nice, knowledgeable and thorough. I am happy to have chosen this clinic for the health care of my bunny, looking forward to many years of great care.

My bunny, Othello, was a patient here for all his life. Towards the second half of his life, he would see Dr. Vicente Torres often. Dr. Torres, I am grateful you gave Othello care. He is very knowledgeable and cares for his patients. Unfortunately my bunny passed away recently at the hospital from an emergency situation (none of which is VCAs fault for his passing) - and Dr. Torres wanted answers himself for why this happened to him and he did a necropsy for my baby boy for free. The office staff is also good about remembering who is who, specifically Carlos in the front desk. They recognize their patients. I am grateful for them being there for Othello's care. When Othello had GI stasis the first time some years ago, Dr. Harris performed a risky life saving procedure on him that allowed me more years with my bunny. For Othello's 2nd GI stasis, both Dr. Talavera and Dr. Torres helped him through it. They both also helped with his skin irritation he had at some point. To me, Dr. Torres is very passionate about his work there at VCA. Of course I will still be going there because I do have a cockatiel and they've always done a good job with him. The newest doctor, Dr. Pardini, saw Yuuki recently for a sinus infection he had and she was able to quickly notice that was his issue and of course performed the proper tests. He became like a new bird after doing the medicines that Dr. Pardini prescribed.Again, thank you Dr. Torres for the care you gave to Othello.

I used to bring my parrot to this location. The first time I came, it was to draw blood work and an annual exam where the doctor complimented me on how calm my parrot is and how easy he was to handle and draw blood from. The second time I came, for his next annual and blood work, I was waiting in the exam room with my parrot in my hands, keeping him calm in a new environment, the doctor opened the door, saw my parrot was out of his cage, he slammed the door shut without walking in, but peeked in to say “put him in the cage!” He is a 150g Quaker parrot and was calm and in my grip.. the doctor then came in and asked what I was there for to which I said he needed blood work and an annual exam, the doctor refused to do blood work without sedating my young parrot who was calm. I of course refused. He then told me that there’s not much he can do then and that I was good to go. I still was made to pay the $90 visit fee even though the doctor didn’t even touch my bird.I just saw a new doctor at a clinic called good vets and they were able to draw blood from my parrot with no issues, she examined his eyes, ears, bones, checked his weight, nails, and even the inside of his mouth all while my parrot was calm in her hands and she also complimented me on how calm and easy he is to handle. It’s very obvious my bird isn’t the issue. Not only are the vca not thorough, don’t care or probably don’t know to care or examine exotic animals properly but if you have an exotic animal do not take them here. Do not take any of your pets to a company that’s owned by the mars candy corporation! I’m so glad I found my new vet and regret ever stepping foot in it wasting my time at the vca.

Dr. Torres is an amazing vet, my daughter brought my bird Zico after he had laceration and he got the best care ever! My daughter is a nurse and she was impressed with the care he gave him, absolutely recommend VCA South Dade and Dr. Torres to any one that has an exotic animal.

Brought my ferret here because he was having seizures. He was seen by Dr. Vicente Torres. Paid $1000 to get X-rays, blood work, and the exam. Doctor said he was ok and not to worry about it. He kept having seizures so I took him to another vet. Turns out his spleen is enlarged and he has insulinoma. They charge way too much for them to be providing a wrong diagnosis.

10/10 level of care and support! Dr. Torres was amazing with our bunny, and all of the nurses and front desk staff that I saw were welcoming, kind, and helpful. I even received a followup text after the appointment to check on our bunny. Really great vet!

The only reason I continued to go to this dirty hospital was because Dr. Harris was there. When I called to make an appointment w/him, I was told his last available appt was 7/25 and after that, he’d be “doing field work”.Dr. Harris is in Palm City. It’s easy to find Dr. Harris on social media and he has a website.Furthermore, VCA South Dade is dirty. After my appointments, I received a survey to rate my experience there. It was always the same…it’s dirty.8/7/23 Cristina, the Practice Manager, called me today to discuss my concerns and she informed me Dr. Harris will be seeing appts at VCA S Dade in September.

I want to start by saying My cat is 2 years old and it’s my world. We took him to this so called hospital and charged me over 800 dollars and said my cat was fine when I’m reality my cat has mange and he is loosing is hair. He doesn’t stop scratching and is bleeding. It’s very obvious in his face. We have called them so many times to speak with them to explain the situation and they never answer their phones. The didn’t even cut his nails which should have been cut since his skin is in blood and he can’t stop scratching. I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND this place to anyone that truly LOVES theirs pets and consider their pets family. My cat has been in my closet for more than 24 hours behind all my long dresses after he came back from this hospital. Very alarming and odd behavior from my cat.
