One star isn't enough!!! Just don't rent from them!! They will do everything to keep your deposit, they never fix anything, the homes are crappy! Sundance Rentals has treated me much better!! ERA put a lock box on the door after I moved out and they charged me cutting it!!! If you rent from them TRUST ME you WILL regret it! I got locked out they couldn't find the extra keys, costing me $175 to get into the house. The property manager seemed high all the time...DO NOT TRUST THEM!!

. The rental process has been a disaster from the beginning. We had to move into absolutely Fort Walton beach .which someone broken into my apartment the county sheriff's office was called dangers to me . A report was made and on file at Okaloosa Sheriff's office. A good portion of our $1300 security deposit (in our case about 25%) is none refundable for "professional" cleaning, but its pretty obivious at this point someone at the Shalimar office is lining their pockets with it. Do not give them any money for "good faith deposit" untill your have read the lease agreement. Its a very one sided contract favoring the owner and era leaving you liable for everything in every situation. Please read the application very thoroughly, especially the fine print which states your "good faith deposit" is non refundable even though all automated emails from era will mislead you into thinking other wise. As they say education is not free but I hope this helps any other families considering doing business with a company who treats you like a paycheck and not a human being.

We worked with Karen Grimmer to purchase a home. Karen was very helpful and a constant reassurance to us. She has valuable experience with smaller towns where things are just done a little differently. She was very responsive and went to bat for us several times. I highly recommend her to anyone buying a home.

I just finished a deal with Josh. He did a fantastic job in helping me with an investment property. I am an out of state buyer so I feel their is an additional level of trust with that. The property I purchased was quite unique and he was great about dealing with the HOA and answering any questions I had. With this deal there were several small issues and he worked extremely hard at remedying them. He came through with each of the issues. At the end of the deal there was a major issue and him and his whole company stepped up and fixed it. I definitely will work with him again.

Hands down the worst ever real estate experience I , plus my family has ever had to endure. I’ve been a realtor for 14 years, a broker for 2, total of 16 years in professional real estate. At the beginning, Ashley was hungry, answered all of our questions and was awesome, but at the point we were under contract, the customer service all ceased. I was coached on how Florida does things, micro managed on earnest money, utilities, and insurance..... ALL to find out, she missed seller signatures on documentation to get us early occupancy, all but leaving us homeless, then forged documents that lacked seller signatures and tried to force them through to the lender. Communication ceased and that’s when “Zee” stepped in.... I assume she was her coach? It actually got better, then worse.... We were able to not be homeless, but then pressured and pressured and my lender practically harassed, to make things happen over Memorial Day?! It was a holiday.... get outta here, These people dated everything to happen Monday, a national holiday, then got upset we couldn’t close. Knew we were headed to another part of Florida Tuesday, got upset we couldn’t sign then, then FINALLY we make it to closing Wednesday, and the per diem that they said they’d be responsible for, at closing we were informed we were going to have to pay. They convinced our lender, unbeknownst to us, to give us a lender credit to soften the blow, but never discussed with us, or him, that we needed to forfeit that over at closing. No communication, no customer service, no ethics. Just get the deal done, on an $825k home. All this to say, I would not recommend ERA American Real Estate Shalimar, “Zee”, or Ashley Perry. The ERA office didn’t greet me with a smile, their broker wouldn’t meet with me. They’re all unprofessional, unethical, and from someone that sells over 60 properties a year, my advice to you, is google someone with a 5 star rating and not “ERA” in front of their name

Extremely bad experience. When I spoke to Keith Wood about renting my property, I expressed in no uncertain terms that I did NOT want more than one tenant in my property. As the lease for the first year was ending I began inquiring about the new lease. It was at this time I found out that they had moved not one but two other tenants into my property with no notice. I was furious and immediately told them I wanted the tenants out and I no longer trusted them to manage my property. The property manager lied to me and told me that I had to give the tenants a full calendar month, and that since it was Dec 2, I would have to let them stay there until Jan 31. This sounded ridiculous to me and when I checked it was. Upon letting her know that this was not true and that the tenants had until the end of the month to vacate she then informed that since they wanted to rent and I was refusing that I owed them the full commission for the year, $2100. It's been 37 days and the tenants are still in my property and despite refusing to evict them because they don't work for me anymore, they still collected a half months rent which they are withholding from me along with my $500 maintenance fund. Usually after a business makes a screw up this colossal I would think they would apologize, nope they just doubled down looking for free money. Save yourself the heartache, DO NOT RENT OR ALLOW THEM TO MANAGE YOUR PROPERTY. Joseph Griffin

THE WORST property management company EVER. DO NOT rent a property that is managed by this office. The maintenance department is unresponsive and will take over a week to perform simple repairs. Our rental home has had two broken toilets for over a week and the staff is confrontational when we ask for updates on repairs. In the past, the refrigerator broke and was not repaired for three days causing over $400 in food spoilage. Renting from this business has been a NIGHTMARE. My family and I are in the military and this business clearly preys on the local military community. A representative of this company just threatened to contact my chain of command for this review. The fact that they would even threaten such a call constitutes predatory behavior against military members. How many young airmen have been bullied by this company with threats of "Do what we want or we will call your commander?" (Oh, and most of the five star reviews are people that work in the office or their family/friends.)

ERA is an awesome rental agency! Paige and Ashley helped us through our process, and their attentiveness to emails was outstanding! They made choosing the right home an absolute breeze.

Avoid this company at all cost! I have never rented from a worst company . They will keep 1/2 you deposit right from the start . You have to pay for cleaning and carpets no matter what. They also charge you $50 twice a year to come inspect your home and also take pictures of everything in your home which I don't think is legal. See photo for the charges

After putting in our application we needed to ask a few questions, Paige Hamilton was so fast at replying back to our emails. She was so nice and professional in how she responded. A key to success to me is being polite and answering back in a timely manner. She is exactly this. Thank you for everything you done for our family.

ERA Rental co in Shalimar- The office staff was rude. Twice I went in and had some woman screech at me from over a room divider instead of walking her lazy butt around to talk. There were other things like their attitude, responsiveness and charging fees for things not done which would make me advise someone not to use them as a rental company

Tamela Hayes helped me achieve the dream of a home near the beach. Her attention to detail, professionalism, integrity, experience, and knowledge, prove her to be the most esteemed agent. As a Veteran, Tamela gave special attention to my needs. I have no doubt that anyone who chooses to go with Tamela will be not only satisfied, but impressed as well. Her ERA team also made me feel very welcome and never once faltered to offer me water or coffee. Tamela and ERA treated me like a priority, exceeding all standards.

We enjoying renting our home from ERA. They are usually very professional and courteous. This is our fourth year signing our lease through ERA. My only complaint is that each year we have to pay $50 to resign. I don't understand why that's necessary. The people who work with the company are generally easy to work with though and have been patient with us when needed. I would recommend.

We are a military family out of state who desperately needed our home sold. Our home was listed with a nightmare realtor who took advantage of our being out of state. For 6 months our house sat on the market with no movement and terrible customer service. We were referred to Bruce McAdoo with ERA who went above and beyond! It was a relief to know someone was caring for our property. In less than a month we had TWO offers and our home sold quickly. We cannot thank Bruce enough for his kindness, expertise, and the experience. He is all about customer service and HONEST which we sincerely appreciate. If you are in the military community looking for a realtor, you will be in GREAT hands with Bruce McAdoo!
