“I had to pay a bill that had to be paid by certified funds and it was after business hours for a regular bank so I decided to try Amscot. They were very nice and professional. I also learned that you can cash checks here, get money orders etc. While I do have a back account its always good to have options so I even set up an account here in case I ever had to cash a client check. Amscot is a good option even for people who have bank accounts. I imagine most of their business is from people who are not able to get a bank account so this is their only option. The fees are higher than most but if I cash a check at say, Chase I have to pay a fee of $6.00. Here is is 4.45% on hand written checks. Not too bad I guess. I hope I never have to use this service but its just an extra option for me.”
