They took such great care of my little Lucy when she was sick! She left the office already feeling better. You can tell they just love animals so much and really go above and beyond to care for them. 100/10 will always recommend!!

I moved here 3 years ago and found hometown pet care. Dr. Eric was the Dr. For my 11 year old shitzu. What a great Dr. And man he genuinely cares about your pup and explains everything. My baby is 13 now and was diagnosed with congenital heart disease. Dr. Eric has her meds and right now she’s living her best life. Thank you Dr. Eric and staff who are also the kindest and best.

A great little pet Care place! Did not have to wait more than 5 minutes in the waiting room & in the examination room we were out within 15 minutes. Doctor and staff are delightful, kind & efficient. Highly recommended!

Very nice place! Separate entrances for cats and dogs which is nice. Clean lobby and patient rooms. Something notable was that cell reception was almost dead in the lobby but there is lots of good magazines to read, including national geographic. I ended up waiting almost an hour after my appointment time but the staff let me know up front there was a wait, were apologetic, and very very kind and thoughtful. I just left another vet that made me and my pets seem like a number, and everyone here really shined with their teamwork, positivity, and gentleness with my kitten even when she was resisting. Last vet man handled my pets even though they were calm, so I was happy to see this. Overall very positive experience and I am very happy to have found a vet who actually cares about the animals!

I love this vet office, they’re always super sweet and listen to all your concerns but…we recently adopted a now 8 month old puppy and we needed to get her heartworm tested. We brought her in, the vet techs were amazing but Dr. Mahoney was super rough with her. Sailor (our puppy) although a nervous pup is usually very good with greeting new people.Dr. Mahoney didn’t give sailor any time to get to know him, he was very straightforward, hovered over her, and she freaked out, tried running behind me to hide and instead of taking a step back, Dr. Mahoney grabbed her by the collar, dragged her to him and picked her up.throughout the exam, Sailor showed so many signs of being so scared and nervous, at one point she went to nip at him out of fear and all he did was give her a rough rub on the back and told her “don’t do that. you’re so jumpy huh?” he then proceeded to explain the way he was handling her was how he treats nervous dogs, to try and “play” with them.as someone who’s passion is dog behavior and training, that’s one dumb way to get bit. That’s not how you handle nervous dogs. He even went and said “when you’re older you’re not going to like me anymore.” which is a red flag in my opinion, almost like admitting he was being rough and invasive. Sailor loved the vet tech but after Mahoney handled her, she was a bit more skittish with the vet tech… luckily she had patience to sit down with sailor instead of rushing her. I’ve been working on socializing Sailor as she lacks confidence for most fast paced situations. We’re hoping this doesn’t set her back, very disappointed with the way Dr mahoney handled our dog.

I’m very stuck if I should give a 3 or 4 star review. I have 6 cats, 2 dogs and a guinea pig. Most of my pets go to hometown pet care. Every experience I have had with them has been great. The receptionists are so sweet, Dr. Kramer is absolutely amazing, and the vet techs are so understanding.I will always recommend this vet office to literally anyone, but I do not recommend Dr. Mahoney…ESPECIALLY if you have a nervous animal. My girlfriend and I brought in our dog today. We were scheduled to see Dr. Mahoney. Our pup is only 8 months old. She’s not used to people or environments like this. It was her first time at the vet and let me say…it wasn’t a great experience. The vet tech was super patient with her, especially because of her breed (she’s an Aussie) she needs time to decompress. When it was time to speak to the vet and have our pup examined…oh wow. He didn’t even let our dog sniff him. He went and just picked her up and was manhandling her. She eventually got annoyed and was super uncomfortable, so she went to bite him. What did he do? Rubbed her back, told her not to do that and then picked her up and again and just held her. She was so uncomfortable it was so hard to watch. He said “this is how I usually handle nervous dogs.” Oh man. By the time the vet tech came back to draw blood, she was scared of her and didn’t want to be touched. Even though she trusted her before. This isn’t my first bad experience with him. I brought my very territorial cat to him once. I wanted to put her on an anti anxiety med. He made fun of that idea and said he didn’t want to drug her. It was my last resort. A few months later, I had to surrender her.So basically, everyone is super sweet here!! I’ll always keep them as a vet, but I don’t recommend Dr. Mahoney. I just feel like he’s a bit unprofessional and too rough with the animals.

Dr Eric and his staff have always been my choice. One could not ask for better. They will be missed by many but we have to allow Eric to retire. I took my dog to get her shots today and we saw Dr Mahoney. We liked him very much and we will adjust to the change.

This was our first time at this place and we had a poor experience. Front desk gal was dismissive. The pet room didn't feel thoroughly clean. Dark and depressing. We didn't feel genuine care & love for animals but a money-business mindset.

Big thank you to staff and Dr. Mahoney who looked at my dog’s scans yesterday and invited us in to discuss options with a partial tear today despite being a new patient! He was fantastic at explaining procedures in a way I could understand, options of medications and recommendations for specialists if we choose that route. The empathy he showed and the calmness of explaining and not rushing me out was very appreciated. Hard to find anyone who takes the time to be fully present and true empathetic with our furry family members. I will be sure to return with my other two dogs.

Most down to earth doctor I've ever met. Great with my highly stressed Australian shepherd. Great prices!
