The animals seem well cared-for and it's all donation-based so that's nice. They also have lots of different kinds of animals so that was cool to see. However, we didn't know what to expect going in and there weren't any helper people around to ask, so I was a little confused about which animals we could/should pet and which we shouldn't. We're city folk and I fully admit we are probably more nervous around animals than we need to be. Like, can I pet the pig, or does he bite? There's no sign, so it’s probably fine? ? Finally we figured out we should go to the porch and get some food for the animals. We ended up having fun. It just took a bit of wandering around and wondering what to do. It's probably our fault for not doing more research going into it or trying harder to track someone down to ask. We also went during a weekday when there were few people there. Maybe with a bigger crowd you could see what other people are doing and just do that.

La port farms is one of the most magical places I've ever been to in Sebastian. They have all kinds of animals from around the world. All of animals are rescued from different situations. There are zebras and ponies and goats and geese and chickens and turkeys and pheasants and albino peacocks and horses and rabbits and llamas and alpacas And McCall's cockatoos and cockatiels and tortoises albino skunks green parrots and red parrots and Conyers lovebirds African grays cockatoos. They have a butterfly House. They have a fishing pond where kids can fish. I like duck pond for all kinds of border fowl. There's a train that you can ride for free around the whole Farm. They have horseback riding and pony rides for $5. Where can you get anything for $5? Nowhere not even McDonald's. They have classes of children coming and learning about the animals and how to take care of them and where they come from, which part of the country and what part of the world. They have crests and arts and crafts for the kids. All the animals are well taken care of well. Fed watered ponies and the horses have their own sprinkler system and there's misting systems for the other animals. If it gets too hot, there's picnic areas where you can sit down and you can have a picnic with your family. It's very very family friendly. It's all free. Laporte farms runs on donations from the patrons who come and view the animals. There are donation boxes around the property. They can put in a quarter. You can put in $100. You can put in $5. Everything is welcome cuz everything helps. They also have a gift shop and they have a not a restaurant but a cafe where they can cook your food. Every place where you cook food if you're hungry, drinks, cold drinks and hot teas and hot coffees. I believe they have three cabins where you can sleep over and you can listen to the animals at night while you're there. They have handicapped parking and there are bathrooms and now they're only open from Monday through Friday from 9:00 till 2 :00 and then Saturday and Sunday till 4:00 now the hours can change. I'm not really sure but that's what I thought I saw on the door on the gate when you come in. Now as last time I was there, I learned something new that you can actually rent her goats to knock down a field or knock down a wooded lot opposed to having somebody come in and spray with chemicals and herbicides you can have four goats or three goats on alot for $150 a month. They'll eat everything that they can reach all the way down to the ground and they fertilize on top of that. They have so many things to do for the kids and for adults everything is free. It's just an amazing place. Laura Laporte is the one where to support farms

Such a cute place! I took my kids here today, and they had a great time. The most friendly staff, the many different animals they have, and being able to interact with them was amazing. Bring books to donate as they have a reading area and a little library to donate/ take books. Currently they're letting kids adopt a stuffy to read 20 books to, and you can get a free pony ride next visit with the reading list. This is a great place to spend a few hours. The kids have a few options to do up close interaction with a lot of the animals, a kiddy train ride, and also pony rides. We explored the many animals they had, fed them, pet them, and learned new things. I have been coming to the Sebastian area since I was a little kid, and we just found out that LaPorte Farms has been here 30 years! I 20/10 recommend checking this place out when you're in town! We will definitely be returning!

Whatever you do do not go here and buy clothes from the woman who owns the place. She told me she was giving me a bag of Victoria, secrets, and pink items. All she gave me was a bag of clothes you would give to Goodwill and $75 of my money, I worked too damn hard for my money to get a bag of clothes that are for one not even the same sizes nor Are they namebrand clothes? This is something you would give to Goodwill such a scam.

We never get tired of coming here. The staff and volunteers are friendly. The interactions with the animals are up close and personal. They are very well taken care of and the farm is clean and well-kept. They have lots of activities and events throughout the year. We bring our toddler here and she loves it.

So grateful that our community has this wonderful little farm/zoo. Very clean. All of the animals seem very loved and well taken care of. Perfect morning or afternoon outing if you have young children and are in the Treasure Coast area.
