“The GFWC Sebastian Woman's Club is a non profit organization dedicated to helping the community of Sebastian Florida. They are part of the General Federation of Women's Clubs, a national organization. Womens Clubs were popular in the Florida during the land boom years of the 1920's. They allowed women to get out of the house and involved in the issues in their community while doing charitable projects. The clubs major fund raiser is the Terror on Main Street haunted house that they put on annually. 2019 was their 39th year of putting on the event on Main Street in Sebastian. The club meets on the second Monday of every month at 7 pm at their historic club building, the Sara Wentworth Rose Memorial Clubhouse. Meetings are open to anyone who wishes to attend.”

“Quite a variety of things to do and see- family friendly options include visiting the Living lagoon aquariums, short boardwalk hikes through a mangrove forest and kayaking/canoeing opportunities. Touch tank available 10-12 and 1-3 pm. Three pontoon eco- tours daily- reserve ahead. I've done the 9-11am one several times but my favorite is the sunset tour. I learn more about lagoon ecology each time. Nice gift and snack shop. Fyi- those are harmless mangrove crabs on the tree in the photo!”

“They run a thrift store which is open on Fridays & Saturdays. It's a huge warehouse full of items. I like to go there when I have time to browse - so much to see and check out. I like to support the charity - they do good work!”
