Purchased a Certified Pre-owned 2018 Jaguar F-Type R from Jaguar Sarasota in October, 2022, and paid for the 2-year extended warranty. The car has always been kept in the garage and was in great condition, until a month ago (July, 2024) when the headliner collapsed on my head while I was driving (see photos).
I searched "Jaguar headliner failure" and found that many people were experiencing the same issue. The photos were nearly identical to my photos. I drove the car to Jaguar Sarasota the next day and was told that my 2-year extended warranty didn't cover the headliner. The service tech gave me the number to call Jaguar corporate to ask for help since it was clearly a design/engineering failure.
I contacted Jaguar corporate who told me I needed to take the car to Jaguar's repair shop to get a quote, which I did. The price to repair was $7,800. I sent the written estimate to Jaguar Corporate and was told they would review and respond within a couple days.
While I waited for Jaguar to respond, I took the car to a reputable upholstery shop in Sarasota with hundreds of 5-star ratings over the past 30 years. Their quote was $4,800, approx 40% less than Jaguar's estimate.
On Tuesday, Aug 27, I received a call from Jaguar corporate indicating they had great news... "Jaguar was willing to contribute 40% of the expense to fix the headliner." I responded that I was disappointed they wouldn't cover 100% since it was clearly a material defect. I then asked if the 40% could be allocated to the repair shop who gave me the $4800 quote, and was told it had to be repaired by Jaguar's shop. In other words, Jaguar's repair shop inflated the expense by 40% then offered to pay 40% of the repair.
Apparently "Certified Pre-Owned" and "2-year extended warranty" don't cover the ceiling falling on your head when you buy a $60,000 "Certified" Jaguar.

I would thank the team from Jaguar Sarasota. They all worked so well together to assist me in the difficult vehicle situation I was dealing with. First I would like to personally thank my service advisor Michelle. She was friendly, approachable and very accommodating. She was very skilled at navigating getting my vehicle in for a diagnostic test. She was equally versed in all that is Jaguar/land rover. She brought the right personnel to assist me in dealing with the service my vehicle needed and directing me to one of the most genuine and forthcoming car sales man I have ever dealt with….Barry Davis. His demeanor was pleasant and his knowledge of the product he represented was incredible. He was very keenly aware of my particular situation and was able to show me the perfect vehicle for my needs. And finally, your Finance Manager, Joe Dunn. Fantastic personality with a high energy level. He was able to move quickly and efficiently through the paperwork portion of my purchase. He explained everything expertly and professionally. I enjoyed his conversation throughout this entire signing process and found him to be a man of very high integrity and honesty!
With these people representing Jaguar of Sarasota, I would be happy to recommend anyone looking for a vehicle to these people.
To them I say a gracious and humble thank you ? for all you did.

My recent experience with the entire team (Jason, Jason, Ernie and Ayman ) was exceptional. They really worked hard to meet my individual needs and preferences to make sure my Range Rover Sport was the perfect fit! This was the second Land Rover that I’ve purchased from this dealership and was very pleased with my overall customer experience.

Posting an updated review since Google won’t allow me to modify my initial, positive review a few weeks ago…
In a nutshell, I bought a used RR Evoque and found the dealership’s pricing to be very competitive… at least initially. As others have also said, upon arriving at the dealership and expressing interest in a vehicle, they immediately hit you with the non-negotiable, $2,000 “dealership platinum package” add on. This is especially true if you pay cash and don’t finance with them.
That said, the package is mostly snake oil (i.e., about 10 different clear coatings, with the pertinent detail being you can’t see any of them), but I digress. There were a few legit items in the package, like rubber floor mats and a sun visor (which is literally how they sell it—“you’re actually getting real value with our package in the form of Land Rover mats and sun visor.”) Those items are listed as a $700 option pack on the LR website, so I figured I could choke down the snake oil since I was getting some decent value and the overall price was still pretty competitive despite being more than the listed price.
My real issue is in the fact that the dealership didn’t deliver on any of the promises that were made as part of the platinum package that I reluctantly agreed to buy. When I called the day after taking receipt of the “platinum-package-less” vehicle, I was told that it would be resolved. Instead, I went all the way back to the dealership just to have them give me generic, used, rubber mats that don’t even fit my vehicle, and a paper thin, $1 sun visor from auto zone—honestly, they’re laughable. At first I thought they were playing a joke on me, but then I realized they were serious.
In summary, you buy a luxury car like a Range Rover, in part, for a level of service that should far exceed what you get from the proverbial “used car salesman,” but in my case, I think this was the most purposefully deceitful sales experience I’ve ever encountered. Really shameful.
I’ll happily retract this review if the dealership responds and makes good on their promise, and frankly our signed contract, but so far, the lack of response to my half dozen follow-ups doesn’t give me much hope. I guess I may need to make a trip down to Naples soon to look-up Judge Judy and get a small claims court filing going. Only half joking with that last part.

Worst car shopping I ever experienced. First, pull your own Carfax report because they don't like for you to review the one they claim to provide for free independently. They prefer to point out things they find important then snatch it away from you mid read. Also, if you've already arranged financing (even if it's with a bank with whom they already have a partnership) add $5-7k to there posted asking price. Finally, the finance guy was rude and seemed angry to have encountered a savvy consumer completely unaffected by his garbage sales pitch. Save yourself the trouble and head to another Jaguar dealership in this great state. I did and have never been happier with a vehicle purchase.

The worst experience in a dealership in my life! Nice and kind at the beginning of the negotiation, completely absent after. And then, be careful during the contract because it appears, in the final bills, in addition, maintenance contracts and vehicle insurance not requested. Not to mention the fact that it is impossible to talk to them on the phone!!!
Too bad there is no possibility of giving "zero stars" ... one is too many.

The Most Painful Car Buying Experience-
Bought a used car last week from this dealer, and it was undoubtedly the most unprofessional experience I have ever had. The sales managers were predatory, combative and had attitudes from the onset.
I was able to complete my deal but I would Not recommend this dealership to anyone.
Beware of the 2000 “premium detail” package that customers are forced into to Jack up their margins.
This dealership should evaluate the quality of their employees and policies.
