I participated in an online bag making class, and I have also made several purchases through their website.First, Karis and Mary are absolutely amazing. They have an unmatched passion for the craft, combined with incredible knowledge. If you have a chance to learn from them, you should! You're not just a student, you're a member of a community.Second, they carry quality materials at a great price. And shipping is fast! I ordered this morning and it was shipped this morning! I'm a repeat customer, and I'll be coming back again!

So many insanely beautiful fabrics to choose from! Well priced, friendly & knowledgeable staff. I was able to find the perfect high-quality fabric I was searching for; the owner even gave me back story to the fabric I picked out (one of the creators was a Ringling grad!) A much better experience than I’ve ever had at the big box stores. Will definitely be back to support these awesome ladies.

The Modern Sewist is a quilt shop that is committed to their customers in so many ways. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable. Karis the shop's owner is so enthusiastic and creative in her own right. She goes the extra mile to keep the creative juices going for her customers through innovative classes, retreats, workshops and her now infamous Bagboot Camp (which I took myself). The fabrics, notions and pre cuts are tailored to the needs of her customers most of which are "modern sewists". But there is something for every quilter or bag maker here and worth a visit.
