Excellent experience with Tom Walls - he really took the time to discuss the features and details of the various massage chair models and allowed my wife to try each one in the showroom. This allowed us to pick out the best model and brand for our needs and delivery of the chair was seamless and done very professionally and efficiently by Charles and his assistant!
I highly recommend The Modern Back!

If you are reading this, it's because you are seriously considering dropping a few dollars on yourself and your well being. I'm 70 years young. I'm a WTC 9-11 Victim and Volunteer with a few medical issues. I had over 85,000 people follow my reviews on Trip Advisor, Open Table, RESY etc. I did construction my whole life, so I hurt.
My friend who knew me said, "Why don't you treat yourself to a massage chair? So I did my research as I always do. In NYC where I live and adjacent New Jersey, there was not one place that had a complete top shelf selection to try. I wanted the very best for me. Long story short, Tom had them all to try in one place!
I'm retired now, so after many conversations with Tom, I went to Sarasota, Florida with my friend to meet Tom and to try them all out. He said, "You aren't the first to come down". I see why. After I met Tom and explained what I wanted, he pointed me in a few directions. Tom took us through many of the options and features. Too many to list. He, of course, sized us both up and had us try as many chairs as many times as we wanted. My friend is 100lbs. We both agreed on the Osaki OS Pro Duo Max over the AI Vivo. My friend said, "Her massage chair does not come close to these!" After about 2 months of every day use, certain areas of my body became pain free. I was also more flexible and friends thought I looked better. Maybe because they wanted to use it?
I found, after two months of constant use, this massage chair really did it all. I can best say, it's infinitely adjustable for most people. It even asks you your shoe size so the rollers are hitting your feet exactly where you need it and it's not just one with roller. You truly get massaged in 4D as if 5-6 masseuses are working on your body all-at-once! Hand massage, in my opinion doesn't come close! It can't. I said to Tom, "Between these two machines, does this one do everything that the other did and way more? He said, "Yes". That was it.
So with Tom's help, he gave a great price, warranty, cover which may never be used, cleaner and white glove set up as well. This all completed about two weeks later.
I did delay total judgement on my machine as this is a pricey investment and I wanted you to know exactly what I found out. Awesome! My Duo-Max is Awesome! I don't think a masseuse can come close. You have to try these new 4D machines to fully understand how close this is to a human-massage if not way better. What it does is unimaginable till you experience it. Go!
As I live in another State, there was no tax. It nearly paid for the trip/ vacation. I am still learning everything that this machine can do. I am completely happy with this purchase and Tom and his wife made the purchase a pleasure.
My suggestion: Don't delay and don't settle, get honest advice, great price and try all the brands you can. I picked Osaki, the largest sellers in America-for good reason. Before dropping big bucks, give Tom a call. Do one stop shopping. He will do you right. Enjoy your almost "free" vacation when you go down. Say, "Mitch sent you". Let me know how you did. You will have never felt better and better.

Great experience! Purchased a Diawa chair and very happy with it. Tom was amazing in dealing with my endless questions and never tried to push a particular chair or brand on me. I visited several other dealers and often felt I was being pressured to look only at certain products!

Just wanted to let everyone know that there are great people and great companies out there still. One company being The Modern Back. Tom Walls is a great person to do business with. I have been looking at this Daiwa Supreme Hybrid Message Chair for almost 3 years but could not pull the trigger to buy it until about 2 weeks ago. I should have done this 3 years ago and at the time wished I had a person like Tom to talk with. Not only was he and his company polite and professional; they were honest and followed through the sale to make sure that the delivery, the price, and the chair was tomy satisfaction. The delivery and white glove was awesome. The chair is incredible!!! We show it off to our friends, neighbors, physical therapists, and family. All love the different features, levels, and comfort. You literally feel rejuvenated after each message. I fall asleep in the chair during the massage at times. If you need any recommendations, I will personally send you to Tom Walls at The Modern Back.

I just Purchased a massage chair from Tom the owner on 8/2.. All as I can say is WOW! what a great guy he is. My girlfriend and I went to his amazing showroom where he had a lot to choose from. Tom was not pushy in the least bit and answered all of my questions. Him and his wife Ann Marie personally delivered my chair to my home. I'm so happy that I stopped into his Family business. Folks, if your looking for a great product and 1st class service and a honest owner do yourself a favor and look no further and go buy your massage chair from "The Modern Back of Sarasota " You'll be happy you did. I am impressed with the level of service and expertise from this company. Tom was so incredibly helpful and really provided alot of clarity in the differences between these chairs. As you probably know, there are way too many options in this market and its nice to speak with someone so informed and to be able to test out several chairs to see which one works best for me. They definitely exhibit a "customer first" approach and are so help in ensuring that you make the most informed decision. Highly recommended!

We discovered Tom Walls & The Modern Back while researching various brands and retailers of massage chairs. Tom welcomed us in and answered questions, explaining the different levels and brands of massage chairs as we performed demonstrations of those in his showroom. His explanations and the hands on presentation of the various capabilities of chairs enabled my wife and I to choose what was best for our needs.

Great family owned company. Very helpful and friendly owners. We went in and they made it easy for my wife and I to try different chairs as they we patient and helpful with our three kids so we could pick the right chair for us. They stay up to date with competitors pricing to be sure they get there clients the best price possible. We are happy with our chair that was delivered today.

I went to a couple other massage chair stores and there was no comparison between Tom's and the others in terms of his excellent price, quality of chairs and attention I received. I took a while to decide and he gave me tons of information on his chairs. And his white glove installers were very careful and polite. I am happy that I did not mess with the big box stores.

We had a great experience with The Modern Back. We wanted to upgrade our massage chair but weren't sure what we wanted. Tom was incredibly helpful and walked us through all the different features of each chair including pros and cons of each. We spent a few hours there testing out multiple chairs and then came back a few weeks later to confirm the one we wanted. Delivery time was within expectations and the entire process was incredibly smooth.

For a long time, we had been searching for the right massage chair. Was hesitant to buy it online. Finally, we discovered Modern Back Store in Sarasota. Since it was important for us to see the product in person, meeting Tom, the owner, was fantastic. He patiently guided us through each product, making a confusing decision-making process much easier. Tom's professionalism and detailed explanations made our purchase experience exceptional. Thanks to him, we found the perfect massage chair and have been thoroughly enjoying it ever since.

I was shopping for a massage chain and came across an ad for Modern Back and decided to give them a call and see what they had to offer. Tom answered the phone and was very knowledgeable on what he sells and explained to me the whole delivery process and said if I had any issues to please call him and he would take care of it. The chair arrived early and set up took about 15 mins. I highly recommend this small family business and I am sure they will grow and remain successful.
