Rented same day we called, short notice plan on our part. The WHOLE staff was fast, friendly and very efficient. Great boat and a great day on the water. Price was really good too. As a matter of fact, they could get away with charging more because the service was so high!!

We had a 1/2 day with the 21' boat. Clean, easy to operate, safe, like new in every respect. Staff was friendly, helpful, and patient with instructions on how to operate the vessel. Everything went as expected.

First time renting a boat anywhere. I have owned boats and currently own one at home up north so I know my way around. We called to get info and the person that we spoke to (female) was extremely helpful and pleasant. We booked a deck boat for a day (8 1/2 hours). Subsequent online forms were easy to fill out and e-sign. The boat was ready, clean and worked well. The process to take the boat out and bring it back went smooth. Areas of improvement needed: 1. They open at 8 am and we did not get on the water until nearly 8:30 am. The person doing the initial checklist was late. So we had the boat for 8 hours...not 8.5 hours. 2. There needs to be a second anchor. I would rent from them again, but I will mention these items next time.

First time going out with Safe Harbor
We go out every year when visiting our friends. By far the best Pontoon Boats, clean and well equipped.
The complete Staff is excellent, helping you loading and off loading plus carts to transport belongings to and from vehicle to boat side.

I'm a resident of Siesta Key and I always rent from Safe Harbor when I have family or friends down that want to take out a boat. This business goes above and beyond to show appreciation for the business. Their employees are patient and thorough. They never let me down.

Booking and getting the boat was standard. Operating and enjoying the time on the boat was also fun and standard. It all went south when I approached the manager afterwards about the condition of the boat we got. The pontoon was missing the bow door cover and many tears in the seat cushions. Also for being a two year old boat, the boat was in overall poor condition. The motor was the only thing that seemed to operate appropriately. When I approached the manager afterwards and told him how the missing door cover seemed to be a bit of a safety hazard for young kids or people in general, he said this was standard equipment for their pontoons and said he'd have to replace these covers weekly for all their pontoons because their renters destroy them (sounds like you're renting to people that don't have boating experience). I've owned a pontoon for 30 years and know this is not "standard" for even a cheap pontoon. This gentleman also said he'd recommend a deck boat next time, which is even more of a poor choice for a family with young kids when you dealing with large wakes created from very large boats. No sincere apology for the experience or lack of proper equipment, and saying "I'll be sure to pass it on" is a very unprofessional way of taking note of a concern, as anyone that works in a customer facing position knows this is just a way to detour the conversation and nothing actually is done or "passed on". Lastly, this is also the 3rd time I've used this rental and never had any concerns in the past. So to know that when there is a bad experience, the result is just poor management and relations and nothing is done to help resolve the issue. Fortunately there are several other boat rentals in the area that I'm sure can be even slightly better that this place to earn and deserve the business.

Same experience as Carrie Best, rented a "luxury" boat and got a piece of junk. Nothing worked on it, jot even the gas gauage, it was stuck at full. Don't even know if they ripped me on gas or not. They also got me for propeller charge, wouldn't show me the propeller though. I asked to see mine and a "ready to go" one and they said no, we won't do that. That screams scammy behavior to me. Never renting from this place again, if it used to be good it's not anymore stay away from them, I know I should have. Turned a fun day on the water into a pain in the ?

Folks here were very nice at first. We rented a 26' "Luxury" Sunchaser Triton with 150hp for half day/afternoon. There was only a 10% chance of rain that day. We got out onto the water about 30 minutes from the marina, before we were able to get all of our gear situated. Went to plug in our phone for music, no electric. No electric for navigation, no electric for depth finder .. nothing. I called the marina and the guy said "oh yeah, the electric is out on that boat. These folks should have told us that before we spent 450$ for a 'luxury' boat for 4 hours (there were other boats available). About an hour into the trip thunderstorms broke out and it got very dark. None of the required safety lights on the boat worked (electric was out!) and we had no navigation. Had to come back due to extreme weather and got back into the dock at 145pm or so. Talked to the staff about compromising on the cost of the boat due to it not being a "luxury" boat and the safety concerns we had and they were unwilling to come off the cost. I know the weather included in the contract, but the boat was not what we were told we were renting. Wont rent from these folks again.
