I was very disappointed to find out that there is no elevator and I was unable to get a room on the 1st floor. When I explained this (I had a lot of stuff to carry and have a bad knee) to the desk, he was very clear there is no refund and I should have called them first. Expedia asking for a refund but hotel was not understanding at all. I was working an art show which is 12 hours of physical work already and could not handle carrying the items up the stairs!Walkability: Not at all friendly to disabled. Step up into room, outside slippery steps, and no elevator

This location was near the airport, which was very convienent. Their prices were resonable. Having a seperate kitchen/living area, from the bedroom was fantastic! The bedroom door locked, which made me feel safe, staying alone. I would definately stay, at this Regency Inn, the next time I'm in Florida.

From check-in to check-out, we were very pleased with our stay. We were in Sarasota for a soccer event with our son. We found Regency Inn online and thought we'd give it a try (even with the mixed reviews on Google). Honestly, we don't understand the mixed reviews because it was great! To start, the hotel has a retro vibe from the outside because it's looks like a 70s road side hotel but with modern paint/fixtures. The outside and parking were well lit and we never had concern for our safety. It was quiet during the day and night, even though it was at least 1/2 to 3/4 booked. The rooms had laminate hard wood floors, which we love. We stayed in a suite which had a living room/kitchenette when you walked in the door with a small couch, table & 2 chairs, and TV. Then there was a bedroom with 2 beds, TV, and bathroom off bedroom. We loved the bathroom with the 70s tile on the wall around tub mixed with modern tile and fixtures. If that 70s tile is original, then WOW it is super clean (including the grout). I always bring cleaning wipes to wipe down at any hotel. I didn't pick up anything as I wiped down anything. But what was even more surprising was that there was no dust on the faux wood blinds (which my husband noticed!). So, the housekeeping department does a FABULOUS job! The older gentleman at the desk was very nice and always said "let me know if you need anything." We were very impressed with the Regency Inn and would return if we are ever back in the area.Rooms: Nicely appointed rooms with lightweight blanket and 2 pillows per bed. Beds are firm.Safety: Well lit on the outside and parking. Plenty of lights. Quiet, besides cars/traffic that pass by.Walkability: Plenty of sidewalks around the hotel. We walked to several places because the weather was nice while we were there.

We've been staying at the Regency, usually multiple times a year, for at least 5 or 6 years now. We've tried other hotels in the area, but keep coming back to the Regency. Great location, close to the airport, The Ringling, numerous fantastic restaurants, and within walking distance of several great places to watch the sunset (Indian Beach and Sapphire Shores Park). The staff is friendly, the rooms are clean and spacious, and the few times we've had problems, they've been addressed quickly and satisfactorily.Walkability: Many attractions and restaurants within easy walking distance.

This place is a joke and in a God awful area. The people who live nearby here look like they just stepped off the Appalachian Trail and that’s putting it nicely

I recently had the pleasure of staying at Regency Inn & Suites Sarasota, and I cannot express how delightful my experience was. The room I stayed in was not only impeccably clean but also incredibly inviting. The attention to detail was evident, and it was clear that the hotel takes great pride in maintaining a high standard of cleanliness and comfort. The comfortable bed provided me with a restful night's sleep, ensuring that I woke up refreshed and ready to take on the day. What truly stood out during my stay was the exceptional customer service. The hotel staff went above and beyond to make sure I had everything I needed and more. Their willingness to assist with any request and their genuine interest in ensuring my stay was enjoyable made a significant difference. I felt valued and appreciated as a guest, and that made my stay all the more special.I am already looking forward to my next visit to Sarasota, and without a doubt, I will be returning to Regency Inn & Suites. Regency Inn & Suites Sarasota exceeded my expectations, and I wholeheartedly recommend it to fellow travelers. Thank you for a memorable experience – I can't wait to be back!

I had some bad luck here with my room but the staff were so nice and accommodating that overall it was a pretty good stay.Rooms: The rooms look like they were remodeled in the early 2000s and haven't been touched since. Fixtures are starting to show their age as well as the televisions. The bed was fine and the room seemed clean.Nearby activities: I stayed here because it's close to the airport... Is that an activity?Safety: I wouldn't go walking around this area after dark.Walkability: Not particularly walkable; you basically need a car to get here.Food & drinks: There's a sushi place across the street that's pretty good and a convenience store next door that has the kind of stuff you'd expect from a convenience store. That's about it.

The location: Within walking distance to one of the last remaining dive bars in solid 50 mile radius of it, which is supported by the fact that you wouldn't actually walk there, no matter what time of day.The room: We were on the ground floor in the back left corner. The walls are thin & representative of all other furnishings, fixtures and materials involved in the new renovations of a classic (it even has that classic motel smell!) Florida roadside joint. If you have tactile sensitivities, any reservations about insects and/or think you're paying for peace and quiet, I encourage you to keep looking. If you're disabled and traveling with a service animal, KEEP LOOKING because you will get berated for not telling the compassionate front desk staff that you have a PET with you. Subsequently, they will thoughtfully double charge your card for the $200 non-refundable pet fee while demanding that you leave the room and the property immediately. Thankfully, I'd gotten tons of practice packing up and moving quickly thanks to FEMA after Hurricane Ian rendered me homeless! The staff: Please see above notes about the room. I did reach out to the motel several times to give them the opportunity to rectify the situation. They have yet to return my communications and have refused to discuss when someone accidentally picks up the phone.Summary: At least when they throw you out for reasons that are both discriminatory and illegal, there's a dive bar right down the street!

This is a below mediocre motel. Shower has no pressure. TV did not work for the 2 days I stayed. No credit given on bill. Looks are deceiving. Pay a bit more and get a real motel.

I like the place. It was clean and obviously recently painted. I stayed four nights; upon checkin I realized the Direct TV was not connected. Went to the front desk asked for assistance, the older gent came and looked and said he would have someone fix it Monday morning. Monday came and went no body showed up. Tuesday I went to the desk again and the young Indian man sent staff and they looked and could not fix it (no tv day 3). Wednesday I mentioned it again and nobody showed up. The room is clean the kitchen was sufficient (no dish washing liquid) but I give this score because there was no empathy for the guest regarding the tv. Would I stay again? It is not likely.

Bij aankomst schrokken we van de gedateerde, viezige kamer. Uiteindelijk wel fijn verbleven door de rust en goede parkeergelegenheid. Bedden zijn wat oud/doorgezakt en badkamer ook verouderd. Fijne locatie

I came to this hotel visiting from out of state. The room, service, housekeeping, pool, and affordable price went well beyond my expectations. The pool was extremely clean and kept up to date. It was extremely quiet and I felt safe as a traveling woman. The housekeeping lady is an absolute sweetheart. She always made sure I had clean towels and room. The owner even let me charge my phone after check out; to make sure I made it safety to Tampa international . They go well and beyond to make sure their guests are safe and taken care of. Please come to this hotel , you won’t be disappointed. ❤️
