The staff is incredibly rude and derogatory, but that is not really a problem as long as they fill your medication. I have a neuropathic type of cancer pain, and for it I take pain medication. Yesterday I called in the morning asking if they can fill my medication (many pharmacies do not carry this specific dose), the pharmacist “Kristen” said that she is currently out of stock, and I thanked her for her help and told her I will check another Publix, and that should have been the end of that. Unbeknownst to me, Kristen put a note in my chart to not fill ANY prescription for me. I recently got a brand new prescriber, and she tried to send in my medication for me and called me stating she feels extremely uncomfortable given what the pharmacist, “Jeremey” read her off the computer. Jeremey attempted to use the “Nuremberg Defense” where he kept stating over and over again that he “was just following orders from a superior” and used that as his reasoning for such discriminatory behavior, and scoffed and laughed at me over the phone when I brought up my and my prescribers concerns, as she (my prescriber) stated she doesn’t feel comfortable filling this medication at another pharmacy as the note only said “Do not fill any prescription for patient”, and there was zero reasoning given by Kristen. What she (Kristen) did is blacklisting a patient from Publix pharmacy, and if this particular medication is stopped abruptly it can (and has) caused Grand-Mal seizures. Because I called and inquired as to whether or not my long term pain medication that I’ve filled at this location before could be filled, she instructed other pharmacists to refuse to fill other medications for me. I surely do not appreciate being spoken to in such a rude manner, but I cannot and will not risk having another seizure from abruptly ceasing medication. I had to go into the hospital last night to obtain emergency medication as a direct result of these discriminatory actions, and the hospital pharmacist came down to see me a few hours ago and discussed the ethical and legal implications involved placing such a damaging note in a patient’s file so recklessly, especially considering I was expected to experience convulsions at any point. If you have a condition such as chronic pain or PTSD, absolutely do not see this pharmacy. You will be discriminated against for requiring a controlled substance to treat your condition, even if they don’t fill it. When I brought up my concerns about experiencing seizures again, I was mocked and scoffed at and told that he (Jeremey) is “just following orders”. I, thankfully, got my medication at the emergency room, and I’m very grateful for Sarasota memorials inpatient pharmacist for explaining the legal and ethical problems the action of placing that note that prevented all incoming prescriptions, regardless of indication, to the pharmacy from being filled.

this is the worlds WORST pharmacy. EVERY time i go, there is without fail some sort of issue. Several times my RX was “misplaced” when i went to pick it up and had to wait an additional 20 min. How hard is it to place birth control in a bag.one time it was hours past the scheduled pickup and it still wasn’t ready so i called to see what was taking so long and they informed me that they were waiting for ME to call THEM so they could tell me they no longer carried the brand i used. seems to me if there is an issue with my RX you should be calling me to inform me. The employees behind the counter always have terrible attitudes and are rude to me after there countless mistakes. I’ve corrected my address to them 4 times and it has yet to show up correctly. nothing but pure incompetence.

If people who worked in grocery stores in NY were even half as friendly and customer service oriented as the employees at Publix, I would be forever grateful.

I love PUBLIX!! You guys rock! My son came in a week before his birthday and described what kind of cake he wanted and not only did your amazing bakery staff listen to what he wanted but they built it with his exact wishes (include macaroons, blue drip, leaves and more)! There was no picture, exact premise cake in a photo book. They have an art that can’t be made with big box store cake anywhere else!

Publix, in general. Am fed up with their price increases. Case in point... a couple of weeks ago, I bought a couple of packages of NY Bagel Crisps on a Saturday. I used to (key words - USED TO) purchase 1-2 bags a week. They were $3.69 for 7.2 ozs. The following Tuesday, I bought another bag. However, upon returning home, I noticed the bag was a bit smaller than the previous bag I bought. This one was SIX (6) ozs., but at the same price!! That's a 20% price increase!! Pretty sneaky trick. Not done, though. In complaining to of of the asst. mgrs., I was told, "This is how we keep prices low/the same. We're always looking out for the customer." What BS!! Do you think I'm stupid??!! Then, to twist the knife in the wound, the next week I go into Publix and look at those chips. The price in now $4.39. The math tells me that's another 19% increase, for a total increase of almost 40%. 40% $$$ for 16% LESS product. And this goes on throughout the store. Bottom line... I've been buying many staple items from Walmart, Detwiler's, even Amazon Prime. Oh, I'll continue to buy from Publix, sale items and BOGOs, but not the blind shopping I've done in the past. Yes, Publix is convenient, but you PAY DEARLY for the convenience.

I would give them a 0 if I could. After changing insurance, we had to change pharmacies, also. The pharmacists refused to give us a prescription after the Dr. sent script to them, and insurance covered it. It was the same dosage and script my son has been on for years. The Dr. Called them and they still refused. Pharmacists are not Doctors. I will never use them again.

After the terrorist takeover of democracy Publix siesta supports the murderers of victims of the attack on democracy by flying the trump flag every single day in their siesta parking lot. On an employee car! Shame!

If you want to get covid19, go to Publix. I have complained to their corporate office about their lax mask policy. On their website, there's a press release stating that their policy is a MANDATE to enforce masks and social distancing. Well, they're doing a terrible job enforcing that policy. Following is the response I received when I complained to them, and after that is their MANDATED policy that is on their website: Thank you for your correspondence regarding our policy pertaining to face coverings at Publix. Our Publix company policy states that we require face coverings in our retail stores. The requirement is different than a mandate, as it is a request for patrons to wear face coverings when in our retail locations. If a customer brings it to management's attention that there is another customer shopping without a mask, a member of management will approach that customer, politely inform them of the mask requirement, and then offer to provide a mask to them. At this point, if a customer refuses, we are to walk away. We cannot physically remove a customer from the store, as we don't want to put our management team in harm's way. I realize that some retailers have mandated mask policies in their stores by physically posting someone at the entrance, and not allowing unmasked customers to enter their building. Publix has opted to require masks but stop short of mandating them. With that said, we post a sign at every entrance illustrating the requirement, play intercom announcements throughout the day, and approach customers not complying, after a complaint is registered from another patron. I apologize for any confusion or inconvenience this policy has caused. We do offer grocery delivery service through Instacart at all stores, and we have many locations in the area that are able to provide Curbside, as additional options for those that do not want to subject themselves to the general public during this pandemic for their own safety. At Publix we remain vigilant and committed to doing our due diligence in executing safety and sanitation protocols through the duration of this pandemic for the well-being of our customers and associates. I want to thank you for your patronage and understanding in this matter. Please feel free to contact me if I can be of further assistance. Please be well, stay safe and as always, thank you for shopping at Publix. Best Regards, Mike Kot District Manager Sarasota, Florida
[email protected] 941-925-4778 ext.240 Now, here is their policy, copied from their website: Let's work together to help limit the spread of COVID-19. As of July 21, customers are required to use face coverings over their noses and mouths while inside any Publix store. This new mandate is encouraged by the CDC for most individuals. Thank you for doing your part to limit the spread of COVID-19. The CDC also recommends we keep our distance to slow the spread of the coronavirus. To help our customers maintain social distancing with other customers and associates, we've marked off 6-foot increments at checkout. Our managers also have discretion to limit the number of shoppers in the store at one time. There is one more thing you can do to help: Please shop alone, if you can. Thank you for your cooperation and understanding to help us all achieve the important goal of social distancing.
