4450 S Tamiami Trail, SarasotaMy dog Wyatt seen multiple vets for over a year for GI issues. This November he was in bad shape losing weight, vomiting and diarrhea. Every vet we seen gave multiple prescription medications and prescription foods. All this did not sit right with me. I felt they were just treating the symptoms but not healing him. My local boutique pet shop recommended me to see Carol for nutritional counseling. From the first visit with Carol she put Wyatt on a straight raw protein diet with raw goats milk and a bone broth protocol for 3 months. Wyatt is now transitioned to a full detailed raw diet and is thriving and gained all his weight back. Not only is Carol knowledgeable she also is very kind, compassionate and always took all my phone calls.

She had been bullied by other dogs at the breeders so was too fearful to drop off at busy groomers.. Thankfully, one evening a friend and I read though Alfonso's reviews. We called. He answered and came to the rescue. It surely was no easy task given her love of dirt digging and rejection of anything resembling a brush. Given such a challenge, he could have muzzled and shaved her or just refused the job . Rather one hour later he and now unrecognizable Miss Hilda emerged from the van. The one-on-one grooming and more personal environment (compared to a big box pet store, for example) clearly made a difference for my anxious poodle. They were quick *and* thorough, following my requests for the haircut perfectly after seeing a photo of my desired haircut.
Doggo usually huffs and puffs after a grooming to formally lodge his complaints, but *none* of that happened today. A win! Will absolutely bring our dog back here!

Karri made sure Ruby felt comfortable before she started on her. We think it made all the Difference in the world. Ruby adapted to her right away and was able to groom her without any issues. I will be back and also bring our other furry baby to her as well.

Laska and James worked smoothly together and provided a great deal more than training. They were always professional but with kindness and understanding that was so clearly felt. Laska has extensive knowledge, provided written materials specific to our questions, all with laughter and stories about their own pets! She never hesitated to listen, observe and make suggestions all the while letting us know not to worry. James explained their business protocol and arranged all the scheduling. He responded so quickly (phone or text) when changes were needed and always with thoughtful kindness. Laska and James clearly love their work, their own pets AND each family they meet and guide. A LENGTHY but written-from-the-heart-review!I PROMISE you one thing - it will become a life altering experience for you and your dog to train with K9 Coach Michael Harvey. I do not say this lightly. I am an attorney and I know there are no guarantees to be given. However, I will say without reservation, that Mike Harvey is undeniably the most skilled trainer I have ever had working with any of my dogs over the years. He is exceedingly proficient at reading a dog's temperament and that of it's owner and adjusting his schooling accordingly. His patience with me has been remarkable, given the specificity that I require in the answers to my questions. He has even answered training questions that I have texted him about after 9PM and on weekends!Khaleesi and I started training last summer (2023). The several weeks of private sessions, which preceded the group sessions, allowed me to become familiar with the mechanics and expectations of the training, as well as helped establish a comfort level for Khaleesi and me prior to joining the group class. She was just a fun-loving one year old Bernadoodle puppy. I was just her fun-loving ?? year old 'mom'. She had the sweetest temperament, I was a tad more encumbered by an overloaded plate of life. BUT, I wanted to be able to make Khaleesi as much a part of my life as I could - you know - like in the movies where the dog goes EVERYWHERE with its parent. At 40+ pounds, she was strong, had the attention span of a whopping 45 seconds, loved to meet people and jump up on them OVER and OVER, bark at squirrels, and drag me around on the leash (I swear at times I thought of taking her to run the Iditarod) - well, you get the picture. But she was so dang SWEET and had a huge heart for everything and so gosh darn smart. She DESERVED to be challenged and learn things within a consistent, loving, and disciplined environment. And so we have become one of the over 1500 dog/owner pairs who has been truly blessed to find Mike.It has been 8 months since we began this journey (although she acquired and had a good command of the rudimentary skills well within the first 2 months) and this has been a remarkable and transformative experience for Khaleesi and me, as well as for anyone who has been around her. She is a hair under 70 pounds and is still the fun loving pup she was when younger. The big difference is that we have learned the skills we need to have to be around people, dogs, distractions etc. I have taken her to crowded outdoor restaurants and she "Places" next to me. We can walk downtown and she "Heels" next to me. Lately, she heels next to me without a leash as we walk to the mailbox or visit a next door neighbor. She stops barking with a "Quiet" command. We have more work to do, but I am so much more comfortable taking her with me everywhere I go.Khaleesi LOVES Mike and looks forward to our classes. He "gets" dogs and they sense that. Words of praise from him and a belly scratch make the most guarded of dogs melt. They respect him because he is consistent in his ask and his praise. This is the underlying theme he teaches us and it works with all types of dog temperaments, sizes, ages and breeds. I have witnessed it first hand. This is the MAGIC that Mike has and this is the magic he will teach you in his classes.I'll post Khaleesi photos later. Running to class now....

Our dog is always excited when we drop her off and then sleeps for days when we bring her home. My parents and my parents in law have also started using them for their tiny dogs. With the multiple pods, each with free access to their own outdoor pods, we know dogs are always paired appropriately based on size and temperament and never cooped up in a cage while we’re gone. -I prefer to eat off real plates, cups, bowls. The disposable stuff is known to contain toxins, especially when exposed to heat.

Siegfried's Restaurant and German Biergarten
1869 Fruitville Rd, SarasotaWe had dinner at Siegfried's Restaurant on Feb. 26th - our third meal there and we always leave with big smiles on our faces. The schnitzel and sauerbraten are both excellent, as are the sides and desserts. The staff is warm and engaging and we were so happy to meet and speak with the chef/owner. The restaurant is in one of the cozy-looking cottages on Fruitville Rd and is the perfect setting for this authentic German restaurant. Be sure you make a reservation and be prepared to enjoy a fantastic German meal!

Mind you, our expectations are high because we've become accustomed to over the top Indian flavors and varieties. Since here we've tried 3 places. One was terrible the other 2 were ok. Today, we found our new go to spot for Indian on Fruitville and Honoree called Royal Peacock. Food fresh, great taste and aroma, impeccable service, not over the top pricing and a clean pleasant atmosphere. We had Palak Panere mild and chicken Vindaloo spicy, both white and saffron rice, along with butter nane. Don't waste your time at the others this is the real stuff. JK

7642 S Tamiami Trail, SarasotaWOW - their key lime pie is incredible. We were at a friend's for dinner and that was my first taste of heaven. It was light, tasty, smooth and oh so good. We were in the area and picked up a pie to bring home. The nice thing is you can keep it in the freezer and bring it out, cut a slice, put it back in the freezer and let your piece thaw to eat. I'm looking forward to trying her other beautiful looking pies and pastries. Oh the smell, when you walk into the bakery, is incredible.

Satchel's Last Resort Rescue and Sanctuary
8101 Coash Rd, SarasotaBought some pet items at this no kill rescue, the items were posted on FB Marketplace and all purchases go towards saving the pet's lives. Very easy to find, friendly volunteers, easy parking and I'm a part of a greater cause. I recommend purchasing from them for any pet needs. Items are new with tags and used. Prices are heavily discounted.

Both of my cats were very healthy and had no behavior issues! ?
