I have always had exceptional caring attendants and technicians at the SMH outpatient Lab!!! I can be a very difficult patient due to my veins being very small, each time they have been patient and very careful. Very clean and neat waiting room and blood draw rooms. Always prompt at getting the results to my ordering doctor in a timely manner. The registration associates are pleasant and very professional. Thank you!!!!

I went there with an order for blood work from my PCP. They did not send it to my PCP, they just shelved it and my doc appt was a waste of time and money. Now they say I need to fill out a release and attach copy of my license for them to send the results to the doctor that ordered it. SMH will endanger your health.

my wife who has Cerebral Spinal fluid leak had a specimen sent there just over 2 weeks ago. we had still not gotten results back and we're informed this morning they had lost it. When I called and talked to the supervisor (Harold) he sad they did not actually loose it yet they told her doctor they had. So the lying, incompetence and stupidity are running rampant. Lets hope your life and lifestyle are not at risk as my wife's now is as she can't have surgery until this is completed and has been on bed rest for a month and now who knows when they will get this done. Being a veteran with 22 years service this is unacceptable.

I mean if slow and rude service is your preference this is definitely the place for you! The nurses are wonderful and helpful, but those “desk nurses” are the opposite, rude and unhelpful. If you can get things done elsewhere, do so to avoid this headache.

This is pretty common in this industry but this laboratory needs to be more upfront about what is covered and what my out-of-pocket costs will be. It's not pleasant receiving bill of several hundred dollars in the mail that I was not expecting.

Working in the hospital I felt the need to write a review because sadly I could not recommend this lab as a place for a great patient experience. The 2 stars are for convenience and short wait time. I have been to the lab 3 times now and each time the service was subpar. The first, the waiting room was completely empty so I walked up to the check-in kiosk and instead of a good morning, how are you, how can I help I was greeted by a voice from behind a computer screen to take a number? Then the entire check in was done with me looking at the back of a desktop computer I really couldn't tell you what the woman looked like as she never made eye contact. They also did not perform the labs that were ordered so I had to return. Second and third visit was no better. Staff barely acknowledged me and were talking amongst themselves to the point I missed a question as I didn't even realize the woman was addressing me. Patient privacy and HIPPA? Your name, date of birth and address will be easily heard by those in the waiting area. Finally was getting ready to have my blood drawn and phlebotomist told me I had to first drink something and return in an hour. Why wasn't this done at check in? Instead of having me sit in the waiting room waiting to be called and then told to return in an hour? Then I return on time since the test was time sensitive and no-one had a clue because the phlebotomist who told me to return at a particular time is out to lunch.....since then I have learned that blood work can be done at SMH urgent care. I felt like a secret shopper auditing our own service and so hopefully this will help improve processes but until then if you're looking for great customer service I would recommend getting blood work elsewhere.

These people are so d**** they lost my 4 week old baby’s blood that his doctor needed results from to see if my baby needed to be admitted to the hospital that needed to be done a long time ago btw & it’s day 2 & they havent sent the results over because THEY LOST THE BLOOD OF MY 4 WEEK OLD SON & just now decided to tell the doctor that. Having me waiting for the results when there is none because THEY LOST HIS BLOOD!
