I absolutely love MUGS Golf Shop on 5718 Clark Rd in Sarasota, FL! It's a charming family-owned business, and Allison and David, the owners, are terrific people. They're not only friendly but also incredibly kind and welcoming.
I've been a customer for quite some time, and one of the things I appreciate most is their expertise in handling consignment clubs. It's always a smooth and hassle-free process when I bring my clubs to them. They genuinely care about their customers, and you can feel the passion they have for golf.

Mugs came to me by way of Stash, a well traveled golf salesman from another golf store which I reviewed, it's the guy that looks like that guy from that television program. Having not had a television since 2002, I can't quite recall names of shows and characters - is ALF still on? I loved that show. It's about an alien that lives with a family and tries to eat the cat, anyway... Once inside, the older gentleman wasn't to engaging but I understand, I kinda don't look like a typical customer I suppose. I actually don't think I'm a typical anything anymore, never was actually - other than a typical square peg in a round hole but of course there's no such thing. But I got game and I know what I want and it's not all that off the shelf stuff which I am sure is good and fine to some, many, most but I definitely believe in getting fitted to ones size, swing, angle of approach - ya know, all that stuff, there's a whole wide world out there, how deep do you wanna go is the question. Three putter grips regripped - of which I really am not enjoying at all, no issue with the work but they're not feeling in my hands the way I'd like during play and it's upsetting me. Got my wedges triple taped and fitted a 58* with a 1 inch plug extension and weighted to a D8 swing weight which I love, I love heavier wedges, the pendulum feel and I'm striping the ball and attacking tucked flags, swinging with confidence is important. Allison works the counter and after a few purchases warmed up to me well - she was nice from the start I suppose, I'm not sure what nice is anymore and I don't intend to say differently or otherwise, people are just weird to me now - it's like being surrounded by aliens. I bought an Adams 2iron hybrid with a Matrix Ozik Altus X 90 gram shaft that I adore, been hitting it off the tee and knocking it up and past my playing partners driver which is always fun. Great little shop for all you technology freaks like myself.

This place is awesome! The owners are so nice, extremely knowledgeable and helpful !!!! They have repaired several of my clubs , and in fact I’m headed there Monday to have my 9 iron reshafted ! Best place in town

This place is great. Mugs and Allison are fantastic. They do great work for a great price. Also, they are the nicest people tooIf you need new grips or any other type of golf club repair, this is my only place to go.
