Terrible experience with the Bee Ridge office... I'm a CPA and the person I worked with, Anna Stepanova, just doesn't understand the tax code, Residency, Domicile, or Michigan returns. My Domicile is in Siesta Key, Fla. I stay here 7 months a year and have filled out the domicile form for Sarasota County, have a Florida drivers license, doctors here, Homestead my Condo, etc. etc. I even gave them my prior year returns for both Federal and Michigan!! and they didnt know they had them, but later found them. Anyway, she told me I had to pay Michigan tax when i'm a Florida resident and have been for years.. She said I have to allocate the income from my 401-k , etc., because I spent 5 months in Michigan! LOL...It was sad.. Thats a pretty simple thing. If you live in Florida for 183 days, which is 6 months and a day and have claimed residency in Florida YOU DO NOT HAVE TO PAY MICHIGAN TAXES unless that income was made in Michigan such a a business there!! My 401-k distributions ARE NOT taxable on the Michigan return! Millions of people do it, yet Anna, doesn't know this. It's amazing really. I even went so far as to call my Prior CPA and tax attorney in Michigan who, of course, confirmed my position. They told me to Run, Run fast! I have a call into the manager, Tim White, but no return phone call.... Now I have to find someone else. My first experience with H&R Block.... all I can do is shake my head!

Do Not go to H&R Block to do your taxes. We had them do our taxes in 2021 and the accountant didn't file our 1099 and some w-2 income. When the IRS sent us a letter for unreported income. IRS was next to useless. We signed up for their "Peice of Mind" at the time, but they refused to honor their agreement and denied our claim. Because of their mistake we owe the IRS overe $9,000 in interest and penalties. DO NOT USE HR BLOCK they are a scam.

I made an appt and everything was done quickly and efficiently. The only thing they didn't have for me was a stamp, which I was able to get at Amscot 3 doors down from them. 10/10 would recommend.

Most incompetent people I haven ever dealt with. They had taxes done waiting for ID. Told me how much my refund was going to be. So I came in with ID today. They said taxes weren't doneMade appointment for 7pm. The said they didn't have my ID, So I guess it to the. AGAIN

I wished there were more than one office open and a way to call ahead because I have a ten o'clock appointment and if something comes up and the office doesn't open until ten how am I supposed to cancel.
