Venice Goodwill: We loaded up two antique white book shelves with storage drawers and an antique white coffee table for a Goodwill donation. The furniture we were donating was very nice. We bought "NEW" furniture and wanted someone to get use out of our nice furniture. When we pulled up, the man asked us, "Is your furniture in PERFECT condition? It cannot have ANY marks or stains. It must be like you would find in a store?" DO WHAT? Perfect condition is what you purchase when you go to Kane's, Haverty's, or Ethan Allen. NOT Goodwill! How absolutely ridiculous! We had to refrain from laughing! We could not believe what we were hearing. Your best bet is to buy brand new furniture and take it directly to Goodwill for donation. Isn't that what they are implying? I am totally done with this organization.

Until they remember that items are donated to them and they should be resold for a bargain price, not so someone can get rich off of donations. They charge same prices vs getting it new. No one wants old used crap for the price of getting it brand new elsewhere. Goodwill is not good will, unfortunately.
