I test drove the Sonata which had this cheap plastic interior, and was not impressed. Then I sat down with the manager and was low balled so badly on my (Hyundai) trade in, that I just walked out. This ended really well for me because I wound up with a gorgeous Honda for 4K less, and wasn’t low balled on my trade in. I wound up about 10k ahead, and my car is twice as nice!

I had an absolutely awefull experience today at the Gottel Hyundai service department in Sarasota. I made an appointment to service my car few days ago and I had a few things on the addenda- such as non working horn, fluid washer not dispensing through the front sensors and the recalled ION BATTERY SYSTEM UPDATE SUGGESTED BY THE MANUFACTURER. My appointment was set for 10.15 am and I arrived at 10.14 am. I sat in the car waiting for a rep for 25 minutes. Other cars pulled in after me in the second line and they got served first, clearly I was upset and I requested so done to check me in. Once that was done at 10.45 am I got into the service desk to wait another 20 minutes and to find out that my bumper to bumper warranty expired three thousand miles ago so I cannot even get a quote to replace the horn without paying 199.00 diagnostic fee. That would be 199.00 to fricken find out how much I will pay to repair it!!!! And if that wasn’t enough of the sick / ridiculous treatment they serve their valuable clients - they said the same thing about the sensors. Two tiny sensors on the front windshields that can get cleaned in two minutes with a proper tool would cost me 199.00 to GET AN ESTINATE ON HOW MUCH. I honestly think this is sick and repulsive!! I will NEVER EVER RETURN HERE WILL NEVER BUY A HYUNDAI either.
On top of these idiotic requests from the front desk (400.00 for getting an estimate how much to pay) I was given an estimate of 4 to 5 hour wait for the system update. I honestly did not even comment on this sickness I just turned away and left. I couldn’t wait to write this review so you all can RUN AWAY FROM THIS TERRIBLE BUSINESS.

I highly recommend Gettel Hyundai of Sarasota. The service is excellent! Bee Ridge can be busy so plan accordingly. I can't wait to purchase my new Hyundai Ionic at this location. Super friendly staff and fellow customers. A+

Called this morning and spoke to a sales associate Lucio Castro and asked if a 2021 Jeep wrangler was in stock before I drove TWO hours away and asked if I could go over numbers before I came down he said it was in stock and here, we went back and forth for an hour on numbers and we agreed, EVEN SPOKE TO A SALES MANGER! They assured I was getting a good deal! Asking when I was coming in, I sent my husband and mom down right away for a TWO HOUR DRIVE to go check it out and told Louis I would be down right after him to do paperwork. I was in constant communication with him. Told him my family’s arrival time.. when they were just 10 minutes away.. he sends me a text.. IT JUST SOLD. So fishy, my husband walked in and asked another salesperson where the Jeep was and they sold it just last night. Don’t go to this dealership. Definitely don’t deal with Lucio Castro, he’s not a good person.

We have leased 4 vehicles from Gettel Hyundai of Sarasota and highly recommend their sales team. Lucio has been our sales rep and, along with the sales management, has done a great job helping us with each vehicle. We have given them 5 stars for sales. However, the service department is another matter. Apparently, the service and sales departments are completely separate and have no control over one another. Thus, sales personnel help you while the service department rips you off. From not honoring repairs covered under warranty to our latest issue they have proven to be dishonest and disreputable. We are having a problem with the vehicle's display so we had to leave it with them. Here's the scam. Diagnostic techs are backed up 5-7 days. Rather than scheduling an appointment for diagnosis on a specific day we had to leave vehicle with them for the 5-7 days. We are responsible for cost of rental car until they get around to running the diagnostic and ordering a part. When the part is ordered then Hyundai will begin covering the cost of the rental. To verify what was said I asked the service advisor (Rachel Z.), "If the car sits here for 5 days and you don't do anything to it until the sixth day we still have to pay the rental for the 5 days even though you did nothing?" She said, "Yes." When asked why don't they schedule a diagnostic on the day the tech is available she said, "That's the way we do it. You have to leave your vehicle for the 5-7 days." This is an incredibly deceptive and disreputable practice but very effective in cheating their customer base. The fact that the vehicle only has 2042 miles doesn't make a difference because this scheduling scam is a practice of the dealership not Hyundai. Therefore, we have gotten our last vehicle from Gettel Hyundai of Sarasota.

Why do I own a GV80 but definitely not seeing customer service on a higher level. Yes, redid your waiting room. Appreciate that , honestly, I won’t be back for free coffee. Last time my car was there for 10 days, gave me a little tiny KONA?!???, I’m not really comparable to a GV80, then when I get my car back, huge gouge and scratch on driver side door, which someone used touch up paint (hmmmm wonder where they got it) to fix it, never telling me it happened. There’s something called Integrity. You should hire people with more of that!!! Never ever coming back or buying a Genesis again!!!!!! I’ll get an X5, BMW treats people better!

It was a great experience until I left. Whomever worked on my car didn’t even care to reattach my battery cable correctly!! Thank goodness I was not on the highway as my car out of nowhere went DEAD while driving because the wire unattached!! Thank goodness a nearby auto parts place were nice enough to do it CORRECTLY!! And then when I opened my glove box it fell to the floor!! So again whomever worked on my car didn’t reattach that after changing the filter for my oil change!! I can’t get it back on correctly so thanks for that!! This could have been a VERY dangerous and deadly situation!! Will NEVER return to this location!!!

I brought in my car for service. Friendly staff, competent service! All this and free coffee in a spacious lounge with clean restrooms. Can't find that at most auto service stations!
UPDATE - Something changed. Gettel is no longer the least bit concerned about the customer experience. The staff are heartless, more concerned with paper than people. After having my car towed there, I left countless messages until finally someone called and said they'd been waiting for a part and it should be ready today. They had called the wrong number because my car hadn't even been diagnosed yet! The car had been towed there on a Tuesday at 5, so I knew I would have to wait a bit. Still having no info but a missed call that said call them back, I went in person, because now it was Thursday. They told me they might be able to look at the car by NEXT Thursday or Friday. I had to get a rental car. Then finally I got a call Wednesday (over a week later) when someone explained the problem. I approved the service and they said my car would be ready for by Friday. I went back Friday at 5 and they still hadn't started the repair and were unapologetic. I was told it would be ready between 1 and 2 Saturday. I showed up at 2 and it was still not ready, again no kindness or apology. It is now 3:00 on a Saturday. They have had my car for 11 days. I am still waiting. The tow, my rental car bill, the repair, and the loss of my patience are too high a price to pay to ever, ever do business there again. Jim Gettel better take a good look at his company and put it back in order if he wants to stay in business.
