We are very disappointed in Bassett and will certainly remember this experience the next time we go furniture shopping. Ethan Allan is right across the street from our Sarasota store. We should all boycott bad behavior and reward the good. This was not good. If the Sarasota store doesn't care, I should hope that corporate would.
We found and ordered what we hope will be a well made comfortable sectional sofa. The purchase was easy. Sign the contract and pay. Delivery is where things went off the rails. After a few weeks for manufacturing we eventually we got a call from Bassett's delivery liaison. A date was set. We donated our current sectional to charity 1 day before delivery.
Bassett cancelled the delivery, but not rescheduled. By the time I called back, it when to voicemail. I also sent an email. I heard nothing from their delivery contact for 5 days. I had sent a second email, then finally contacted my salesperson. She checked the calendar and informed me we were on for Oct 2nd. When the warehouse gal finally did email, she asked if we were OK with Oct 2nd. To me that meant Oct 2nd was only penciled in, not guaranteed. I replied yes, but never heard back. A day or two later I did receive confirmation from the actual delivery company.
Bassett had phone, text, and email at their disposal. I totally understand delays. What I don't understand is the total lack of professionalism used here. No "Out of Office" reply on emails, no "Closed due to the hurricane" message on the phones. Sales seemed to be working, they should have known the warehouse was closed, why didn't they followed up? These are their customers. Of course at that point I had paid in full so I guess that maybe signing new customers took precedence. Try watching TV on dining room chairs for a week. I know I would not have been employed very long in my job had I done business like this.
The sectional was delivered at the second appointment. The guys were fine and seemed to take care not to damage anything. If you check the picture you can see that it looks a little sloppy. The cushions are uneven. Not terrible, but the delivery guy told me our design consultant was usually onsite to adjust things. That would have been nice, but true to form, that never happened.
Next came an email for me to rate the post sale follow-up. What follow-up? In the end I did get a call from the Sarasota store manager. I would have expected " We will try to do better" or " We are looking to add out of office and voice messaging". Instead, she was responding to my reviews but didn't say so until I directly asked her. She basically just repeated a list of excuses over and over. When I asked why, she threw out a refund of the delivery fee. Since money seemed their only care here, I feel like 10% would have been a proper we're sorry. Her offer felt like the least Bassett could do to make themselves feel better. The delivery gal was bad, but the guys who actually delivered the couch were the only folks during this whole process who acted in a professional manner.
Bassett put on a good act, until they had our money. After that it was probably the worst furniture buying experience I have had. If it wasn't a custom order, I would return it.

Elizabeth expertly guided us in designing and furnishing our new home. She assisted us in proper furniture selection that was scaled to our space as well as coordinating all the fabrics, rugs, lamps and woods, Our end result is a beautifully curated home that reflects our vision and personalities. If you are looking for a straight forward, extremely knowledgeable, seasoned consultant with Bassett, see Toni Jones. Toni took the time to really listen to our needs and problems we had owning another high end brand. She was able to guide us toward what would work best for us and explain in detail why the construction and choices of firmness would help. She didn't even bat an eye when I asked if she would do a home consult to make sure the custom sectional we decided upon would fit and be balanced in our room; and that the fabric choice we made would blend in with our other pieces. Thank you Toni! I look forward to having a living room to be proud of and a couch that will last many years, provide us with a proper fit, and support.

Absolutely wonderful experience with Susie’s expertise and knowledge. She did way more than just help with the selections. She went to several of the model homes and measured items to make sure the scale of selections was spot on. Lots of flexibility with both fabric choices to be placed on any style of sofa. Susie always made herself available.

I recently moved to the area and realized the furniture I brought wasn’t going to work in my new space. I went to Bassett knowing of their quality and was helped by Toni. She made the whole experience easy by pulling up my floor plan and creating a layout. We put together pieces that fit my style and price point. Appreciate her help and can’t wait to see my new furniture!

Toni was fantastic. When I met her she listened so well to my needs. The first piece of furniture was stunning. I have since order many more pieces and she even came out to the house for a design session. She nailed it and the house is really coming together all because of her help. I can’t say enough about her and the store. 5 stars for sure.

I originally went to Bassett to look at night tables. While none met my need, I met Lisa and mentioned that I was also looking for a loveseat but I didn’t find anything - Lisa helped me understand their build a sofa concept and I ended up buying exactly what I wanted and received the 30% Memorial Day discount. Lisa was so easy to deal with, understood my needs, and helped me decide to change my mind from another store (where I received little help) and made me comfortable with my choice. Best customer service have ever received when shopping for furniture. Thanks Lisa.

Lisa is the best! ! Her expertise with interior decorating was a godsend to me! She came to my house a couple times to help me figure out the best arrangement for my furniture and helped me create a beautiful living space. I love my Bassett furniture!!!

Bassett offers great furniture, but what takes it from great to Stunning is the design that Elizabeth pulled together for me! She listened to what I wanted and what I needed for my home and made sure it was perfect for me and my family. She even made sure to find fabrics that would be super easy to clean so I don't have to worry about when life happens. I can't wait to have Elizabeth help with my next project!
