This company had some bike seatposts for sale on eBay that I constantly need (I repair bikes). Since I am local to them, I called to see if I could pick them up in person. I just kept getting excuse after excuse about they didn't know where they were and to check back. I checked back 4 separate times over a 2 week period and got the same story. Why advertise something for sale if you make it so difficult for someone to buy it? Basically, I just had my time wasted

I was looking for a place to take my bike for repairs and read the horrible reviews. I think I will try to fix it myself.I also noticed his eBay store and read his negative reviews. I wouldn't trust this guy. He's got terrible reviews on Google, yelp and eBay

This business is not reliable at all. We returned a battery a month ago and they still haven't credited our account. Also they never answer their phone and never know if they are going to be open for business on a given day! Stay away!

I'm very disappointed with Alan the owner of Bistro bikes. I had many great dealings with him. He electrified my bicycle did a great job. Did a great job fixing any minor issues that I had. I also recommended him to my daughter, who purchased an electric bike from him recently , my daughter moved and I visited Alan and he encourage me to leave her bike there and he would sell it on consignment. I'm sad to say that he sold the bike and never sent the check to my daughter. My daughter called him many times I talk to him many times and he kept saying oh I sent the check so on such and such a date it's been months months and months and he still keeps saying that, I'm very disappointed in him and I think he's being dishonest with us and anyway I hope he comes through with it and at this point I wouldn't recommend his his bike shop to anyoneRichiehuttner Venice, Florida Because

The experience was bad~1. was sold on the concept that it was an easy repair.2. was not contacted on Saturday3. contacted them Monday and left message4. called te next day and was assured they’d get to it. Claimed they had a big delivery and that’s why it was not repaired, but would be done quickly.5. No update call received6. called the next day, no answer. called immediately from a different number and they answered.7. The proprietor said it was certain to be fixed the next day and to come pick it up8. A day later the bike was not repaired and a long complicated story to explain they couldn’t fix a throttle issue.9. the repair was to take one or two days.10. after stating the repair would be $35. Told it would be over $180 to repair properly. The initial issue was a wire that needed to be attached.I was charged $30#143061 receipt number.Update: 06/03/23 19:00This review, though a brief version, is Factually Accurate. The proprietors response magnified the disconnectedness and reflects the purpose for the customer review mechanism.I review an establishment if they go above and beyond, or if one exists at the complete opposite end of the spectrum.Read my prior reviews - to exemplify matters.

My sister had her bike sold here on consignment. 3 months ago. Owner will claim he doesn't know who he is, even though she bought the bike here. To date he still hasn't paid her the money he sold the bike for. A Police report has been filed, civil suit coming soon.

This is a real post. He's a LIAR and a THIEF!! ONE DAY YOU'LL FORGET to pay attention and who knows maybe something could happen. Buyer beware !!! He STOLE MY ELECTRIC BIKE !!! My dad had brought my electric bike up to Alan to sell it on consignment. I had spoken with Alan and confirmed with him that he had sold it for $800.00 and he was to send me a check for $720.00. He NEVER DID!!! I had called and spoken with him three times. Each time he told me it was in the mail. My father even stopped by to pick up the check and he said it was in the mail. He lied about it each time, he STOLE my bike. I've spoken with Sarasota police and they told me to sue him in small claims court and I am now filing the paperwork to do so. He is a LIAR and a THIEF !! Buyer BEWARE. He has a lot of reviews that say the same thing that he is a LIAR and a THIEF!!!!! See you in court soon Alan Partee. Can't wait to see the outcome in my favor you LIAR and a THIEF. lol

The guys working there couldn't have been nicer or more upfront with the expectations for my repair. I really appreciate the help they gave me.

Very shady business. Fixed myself in 5 minutes. Here's the full story with the solution at the end. I dropped my non-charging battery off on Monday and was told I'd get a call in 2 days. Nothing. I called and left a message on Wednesday. Nothing. Thursday, I called again and was told that they are super busy, but I'd get a call by 3 pm Friday. Nothing. I went to the shop at 3.55pm Friday, and they showed me the voltage output was just 20V, so the fuse was OK and that I needed a new battery pack for $430. The new battery didn't look so new, and I asked to see its output, and it was also 20V. So he tried another, and that was the same. I said I'd take the battery and charger back. He insisted on a couple more tests of charging the 3 batteries. Nothing. He then insisted he'd have it fixed on Monday. I said I'd take it with me and bring it back on Monday. He said before 11 am for same day fix. I went home and removed the fuses. The 5Amp fuse was blown. Replaced it and, viola, the battery charged. A 5 min simple fix that took them 5-days to not check, but instead try to sell me probably someone else's battery that just needed a fuse replaced. Do not trust them! Take pictures if you must drop something off. See my picture with their tags, but now charging after I changed the fuse. There is no need to take the battery apart. The fuse is accessible via the underside. Search YouTube.EDIT 20/05/2023. Owner now claiming I was never there. Not a surprise since they don't do anything. Why keep records of doing nothing? I was there. They had my battery for 5 days. Didn't answer calls, didn't return calls, and tried desperately to sell me a battery that wasn't needed when I went to pick it up. DO NOT GO THERE.

RUN! Over $1500 later and the repairs were not done correctly. The shop I took it to after Bistro / Apar bikes said, Allen Apar should be investigated and shut down.

Very expensive, and poorly run. Owner is rude and talks down to customers. But if you need a bike and fall for his weak sales pitch. You might not get a bike that works. Repairs take weeks or months. Go somewhere else. Total Amateurs.
