What an absolute gem. Found it somewhat by happenstance, which made the stay that much more memorable. The furnishings are well appointed and comfortable. The owner is one of the nicest, most accommodating hosts ever. It has the feel of staying with a relative, without the relative “baggage”. I think everyone would thoroughly enjoy their stay here. Can’t wait to go back.Rooms: Clean. Comfortable. Good energy feel. Updated.Nearby activities: Beach. Biking.Safety: Couldn’t feel saferWalkability: Just a 5 minute stroll to the beach. Right across the street from a cafe (that hasn’t opened yet from Hurricane Ian). Several bikes are available for use to get anywhere on the island.

We have been coming to Sanibel for 25 years. This little inn is a gem on the quiet east end. The rooms are beautiful and newly redecorated. The property is a small tropical paradise just a short walk from the beach or the bay. Perfect!Walkability: TT is a short walk or bike ride to the famous Lighthouse and one of the most iconic beaches in Florida.

My Wife and I stayed here back in August and could not recommend this place more. Nice clean rooms and was in a great location. We spoke with the owner for a bit and he could not be a nicer guy. We will be coming back to Tarpon Tale next

I was lucky to spend four days in perhaps the most loving Inn in perhaps the most beautiful place in Florida. The Birdhouse may be the smallest appartment at the Inn, but I wanted for nothing. Everything is tastefully furnished, in top condition and the whole Inn is run with love. Joe is helpful and always approachable. On top of that, there are practical beach and shell tools at your disposal.I return home well rested and will be back as soon as I can.

I came in for a quick get away from the nonsense in the Orlando area. The owners communication was as excellent.(I initially booked to stay a week and a half ago but had to change my plans due to a car accident and they were more than accommodating my last minute cancellation. Thank you for that!)The inn is so charming. I wish I could have stayed longer and plan to come back at the end of the year. The property is well taken care of. There are so many sitting areas including swinging benches, hammocks, bistro and patio tables with umbrellas. The rooms are new and I stayed in the Birdhouse which was perfect for me. I loved that each room has its own private patio area along with all the beach items one would need including umbrellas, beach wagon, towels, chairs and best of all, bicycles. The access to the beach is a quick 5 minute walk or a super quick bicycle ride.I highly recommend the Tarpon Tale Inn and wish the owners much success after surviving Hurricane Ian.Rooms: Brand new as they have been renovated from hurricane Ian damage. The rooms are fantastic.Safety: The island seems very quiet as there are many homes/condos destroyed from the hurricane.Walkability: Quick walk to private beach access.

My boyfriend and I were both so surprised by how much has already reopened on Sanibel. The Tarpon Tale Inn is one of the many gems that has opened since Hurricane Ian. Father and son duo, Connor and Joe made our stay so enjoyable. The room was beautiful and every bit of furnishing seemed brand new. It was a wonderful place to come home to after our long days spent at the beach. Speaking of- the location of the Tarpon Tale Inn is perfect for beachgoers! We were provided free bikes by the Inn which we took to the beach. The closest beach was also accessible by an easy 5 minute walk from the Inn (but it was more fun to ride the bike.) We were so close to the famous Sanibel Lighthouse as well as many restaurants and stores. Every little detail is considered at the Tarpon Tale Inn- we were not only provided bikes but also beach towels, a beach umbrella, a beach cart, beach chairs, a shell washing station, a shell guide, an outdoor hangout area and more. We know that next time we are on the island we will be staying with the Tarpon Tale Inn again. Thank you for helping us make amazing memories!

Located on the corner of east gulf and periwinkle and you have people stopped in the middle of the road for parking space that someone is pulling out of when there are other spots open. The location though is a nice building for being beat up in the hurricane. Service is very good and rooms are ok they stay with no

This place is the Best hidden gem on Sanibel Island in my opinion. We stayed here last weekend and we were blown away with how nice everything was inside and out! Literally a week after the reopening from Hurricane Ian and you would never know they had any damage. Joe, Conner and everyone who helped at the Tarpon Tale Inn my hat goes off to you, you brought it back to a beautifully decorated space with tons of character and charm. The outdoor patio was my favorite! We will be back again and again to our new favorite spot.

I rarely write reviews but I returned from my stay at Tarpon Tale Inn eager to share my experience and my delight with my stay. This property's reconstruction and complete and tasteful rebuild are a wonder. Our room - Captain's Cottage - was beautifully furnished, comfortable, and quiet. The private rear deck off the bedroom, along with everything - cart, umbrella and beach cruisers - needed for a day at the nearby beach, are a pleasant surprise. Owner Joe is on the property and always eager to please. Really just a great place to stay on Sanibel.

My boyfriend and I stayed here for a one-night weekend getaway at the beginning of June. From the moment of our arrival, Joe and his son made sure our stay was nothing short of perfection. Our room was extremely clean and comfortable. Joe made sure to explain how to work all the features of the room, and even shared his recommendations for places to eat and visit. He gave me his cell phone number in case I needed to reach him about anything.Regarding the place itself, the beach is only a block away, and we were given chairs, an umbrella, and a cart to roll everything in. We also had access to bikes, which were super fun to ride around the island. If you're coming to visit Sanibel, I 1000% recommend staying here. You will not be disappointed.

An adorable old Flordia hotel. Everyone associated with this Inn was so helpful and lovely to chat with. The rooms were spacious and clean. Everything you could need was provided. The short walk to the beach was lovely as well. Y9u really only need to bring your swim suit! Towels, chairs, cooler, sunshade...even a folding beach wagon were all ready for our use. Already looking forward to our next trip!
