We rented a Jeep Compass from the Sanford Airport in Florida. This was the worst rental experience I have ever had. The windows were filthy, the low tire air light was on, the car needed an alignment, the Jeep was like riding in an off-road vehicle. Obviously, Budget did NOT service this vehicle before it went to another renter. Extremely Disatisfied!!

I was extremely pleased with our rental. From start at Sanford Airport to finish at Cape Canaveral. Some reviews complained about lengthy delay in the shuttle getting to the ship but we had no problems. Would 100% recommend.

UGH such a frustrating experience. We reserved and paid in advance for a mid-size vehicle expecting a gas auto instead were given a Hyundai EV with 57% battery charge. We explained how far we were driving and were assured we had plenty of charge to get there. Also were given an APP that would help us find available charging stations. The APP was useless, it took us to a private residence 20 miles out of our way. We were late for a reservation because we couldn't find a charging station along our route and over the 2 days that we had the car, spent approx. 8 total hours looking for a station to charge or waiting for the vehicle to charge enough to go on. A relaxing weekend away became very frustrating quickly. If the Budget agent had offered an alternative or some kind of assistance we may not feel the way we do about the experience. I won't be going back to Budget anytime soon

Requested hybrid car, received an electric. Spent 5-6 hours looking for a charging station because the car was not fully charged when received. Lost my hotel reservation because I couldn’t get there because I had to return the car because it was a nightmare. Lost money because of it. We were exhausted. Didn’t sleep looking for charging stations near me. Company still charged me for the rental even though they said I was going to get a full refund. They also should have been entitled to pay the money I lost in the hotel because the car they gave me was trash and it was because of the situation with the car they gave me that I lost the hotel reservation.

Would give this -10 stars if possible. Reserved a car for a last minute trip by speaking with an associate on the phone who booked the car for me. We were going to be arriving after the rental company was closed, so I called a second time before our flight took off to ensure someone would be there to help us with this rental and was reassured there would be someone available to help process the rental. Once we arrived at the airport. The women at the service center were very rude and yelled to anyone that had a reservation made within the last 24 hours would not be valid, as they sold out of cars and had none acailble to anyone that did not book a week in advance.They did not help to try to find replacements or help with giving information about refunds. We then had to go to Hertz who was very professional to process getting a new rental car with no reservation. Although the price was twice as much as the original rental would have been. They were very helpful and pleasant to work with. I would not recommend going through budget unless you have made a reservation well in advance. At no point did anyone tell us there might be a shortage on cars available. We were lucky enough to get one through Hertz, but if thay was not the case, we would have been stranded at the airport after midnight with no transportation. Completely unacceptable and terrible customer service.

Budget invited me to post a Google review. This is an edited version of what I told Budget:We picked up a car at the Sanford, Florida airport.I have never picked up a car as dirty as this one--inside and out--in 50 years' experience of renting cars. It also smelled bad and had a dent that was not pointed out to us. The tire pressure light was on, and spending $2 at the first gas station to check all 4 tires did not help the problem. The tires made oscillating noise when slowing down.I called Eddie at Budget HQ and he said that he would alert your Leesburg FL location that we would be coming in to exchange the car. We tried to call Leesburg to verify, but the call was transferred to your central number.When we arrived at Leesburg, the attendant was very uninterested in our problems and told us that all he had was a pickup truck. He said that water spots on the exterior were normal, and we should not be complaining about them, and that the tire pressure light was nothing to worry about. We said that that was only the tip of the iceberg--we were more concerned about the stained seats and garbage left in the car.Later he said that he would have a car within 20 minutes (possibly from a returned vehicle), and that car was delivered with water spots from a recent wash all over the exterior but no other apparent problems.In response to an email from Budget, I received a reply from Julio Ahumada with an apology but no reference to my specific problem, and I don't think that is adequate.I will do my best to avoid ever renting a car from Avis/Budget again, based on this experience.

This was the best rental car experience I've had in awhile. I love that I can pick up at airport and drop in my home town. Prices were very reasonable. Enterprise was double the amount for same plan. Will definitely use Budget again.

had a great experience renting a Toyota RAV4 from Budget in Orlando, Florida for 4 days. The staff was friendly and helpful, the car was clean and well-maintained, and the rental process was easy and efficient.I used the car to visit several of the theme parks, including Disney World and Universal Studios. The RAV4 was a great choice for a rental car because it was comfortable, spacious, and fuel-efficient. I was also able to fit all of my luggage in the back of the car, which was a huge plus.I would definitely recommend Budget to anyone who needs to rent a car in Orlando. The prices are reasonable, the cars are well-maintained, and the staff is great.

They working until midnight, but they waited us from delayed flight after hours! It saved us a lot of money and from extra stress and problems like how to find a new car and rent hotel, because we were driving to Miami and didn’t plan to stay overnight in Orlando. Definitely recommending!

Easy Process, cars were clean, no hidden fees, Staff was pleasant and very helpful. This is my second time using Budget at Sanford airport and I again I had no problems. No hidden fees, no additional steps to complete. Process was swift and for the second time the Vehicle was exactly what I ordered and expected. It was ready for pick up at my allotted time, it was clean, and the staff was pleasant and helpful. I will be using Budget here again!

Our flight was delayed over six hours. We did not land until after midnight. We saw online that the counter closed at midnight. However, Nelson, the Budget employee, stayed well after midnight, and took care of six or seven clients, and got them in their cars. There were numerous people in front of us, we did not get our car until around 1 AM. However, Nelson was professional, pleasant, and efficient and got us a vehicle as soon as he could. Due to Nelson’s going above and beyond (staying well after closing time), we were able to make a difficult trip, just a bit better. I will use Budget in the future when I fly into Orlando Sanford airport. The competitors were all closed, but Budget was there when we needed them after a long day of frustrating travel. Also, we had a Hyundai Santa Fe, it was clean and a great car to drive around in for the weekend. My wife and I would recommend Budget in the future.

NEVER GO TO THIS LOCATION!!! Nelson is a liar, a gas lighter, and flat out unprofessional!I wanna start by saying I’ve used budget for almost ten years whenever we travel. I’m aware that different locations have different requirements. I understand that traveling throws you through some hoops and not everything goes as planned. We’ve had issues in the past and they always get resolved. Inconvenient at times yes, but when dealing with cara and humans that calls for some flexibility. That being said Nelson should not have a job.We initially exchanged our rental just a couple days after picking up due to a dead battery and brake issue. We had no problem at the Stanford location with this exchange. The gentleman was extremely helpful with the process and extending our rental.Fast forward a few days later…. A rock hit my windshield in the van. I thought no big deal, I’ll let them know on drop off. The next day I woke up and due to the Florida heat the crack had grown. So I called budget and they advised me to exchange bc the heat will crack the windshield completely before we leave.I spent all Saturday morning running around to 4 different budgets bc the gentleman (at orange city) who helped me, processed a return not an exchange and then started flipping out on me saying I asked for a return. He was rushing to go get his car from the Toyota dealership. And that’s why he messed up. We had laughed about the Florida weather and cracks. I clearly told him I would have kept it till the end of my trip but BUDGET advised me to come exchange. He laughed, mocked, and was okay leaving me and my little niece stranded. He was gaslighting and refused to admit his mistake. He was lying to his district manager and refused to let me speak to him. Said he will call back in two mins.30 minutes later he rented me the same “damaged” vehicle for an extraordinary rate. When I corrected him he said he was adding the initial discount I had. When I got to the car I realized he was charging me by hour and day not weekly. The next location didn’t have a vehicle to exchange. When I went to the closest airport(Sanford) to exchange they told me orange city reported the car overdue and stolen and the paperwork he gave me wasn’t accurate. He didn’t apply a discount he rented the car for one day. Smh! They couldn’t help me. I would have to drive 40 mins to Orlando. It was already past 1 o clock on a SATURDAY. I will never rent through them again. I never had issues that weren’t resolved until this ORANGE CITY, Florida location. Nelson needs to take accountability for his mistakes! Budget needs to hold him accountable or fire him.This exact manager, which isn’t his title but what he called himself(also owner), has many bad reviews, recent bad reviews, about exchanges gone wrong. Budget needs to retrain or kick him to the curb asap. You’re loosing valuable customers and will continue to share this horrific incident and waste or my weekend everywhere.

First thing is that the 15 passenger vans we reserved over a month ago weren’t available and we were not contacted about it in advance so when we showed up they offered us two12 passenger vans instead.Then the person at the counter insisted our insurance plan for our own vehicles was not enough coverage for the vans and scared us into buying extra coverage that was very expensive for the week, and we did not want. Our high school kids raised money for this trip to Orlando and I feel like this extra expense was not necessary for both of the vans we rented and took money from other things they wanted to do.When we got into the vans we had an alert that went off on the dash that said service stabilitrak and continued to go off every time we got into the van. A rubber piece on the sliding door consistently had to be put back on whenever it was opened. Part of the passenger side bumper needed constant fixing so it wouldn’t fall off. The vans were not in good condition at all. I feel like for the price the kids had to pay for the van rental, we could have had a much better experience and not spent money for unnecessary extras.

I rented the special, the car was a piece of garbage . Rough running , air was not cold ( went to Fl), wouldn’t start 2 times the finally started. Tried to call 3 times Budget would not answer.So do not pay over $400 for the special, they will give you a piece of garbage that may or may not get you there.

The vehicle that was rented to us was issued with a needs service light on as well as the water icon lit up. Not a very comfortable feel , especially when driving someone else's vehicle for the first time. I know that it's called Budget, but do the right thing by your customer.
