If you're looking for a hairstylist you can trust with your hair, especially the color, visit Rudy's Hair Chair inside The Island Salon on Sun Boulevard. He is a true professional and I felt an instant connection with him. He didn't cut or style my hair but given the "color correction" & "blow dry", I'm looking forward to what he'll do with my hair in the future.
So how did I end up in urgent need of a "color correction"? Well we returned to live in our St Pete Beach house after almost 6 years. I needed to get my gray roots colored but my previous hairstylist had moved out of state. I thought that coloring my gray roots to match my blonde hair could easily be done by most hairstylists. Boy was I wrong!
Last Thursday morning I went to Salon X and when I left there I not only still had gray roots but now even worse they were a violet gray! Neither the hairstylist nor I was confident that she could correct the color. So that's how I found myself in a panic because I knew I couldn't go to my grandson's 1st Birthday Party the next day looking like this.
That same afternoon at 4 pm I called Rudy's Hair Chair. He was empathetic about my situation and said he could "work me in" the next day at 12 noon and have me out the door by 2 pm to go to the party. And he did!!
He knew right away what mistake/assumption the previous hairstylist had made. He compared my blond hair color to a a sample hair chart. He mixed up a batch of color, tested in on my "part", then decided to add more of a yellow ingredient. Then he tested that formula on my "part" again and let it sit for several minutes to make sure it was what he wanted.
So "Thanks to Rudy" this story has a happy ending. I left Rudy's Hair Chair at 1:30 pm with beautiful color and the best "blow dry" ever! I went to my grandson's Birthday Party feeling really good and confident about how I looked.
Rudy has a new year-round client and I have an amazing new hairstylist that I completely trust with my hair! He definitely earned 5 stars from me! Thank you again Rudy!!

I recently moved to St Pete and I’m so glad I found Rudy. I entered feeling a bit frumpy and left feeling fabulous. Rudy is a true professional. He listened and made suggestions and his experience is priceless.. I would go back just for the head massage and great shampoo. My blowout was FABULOUS. Rudy is also and has a delightful personality. I’ll definitely continue to go back. ?

What a breath of fresh air! I’ve been going to the same stylist for years in CT and desperately needed a cut and color while here in St. Pete. I saw a recommendation for Rudy on next door and took a leap of faith! He returned my call very quickly and got me into the salon the next day! He asked me pertinent questions about what I usually have done and then he worked his magic! He took his time and was meticulous with his work. Along with that he made me feel at ease and made me laugh! I highly recommend paying him a visit! I know I will be back!!Services: Haircut

Rudy was simply fabulous. I was on the run and asked him to quickly take a look at my bleached out color and see if he could do a color correction. He only had a few minutes in between appointments. He asked me a few questions what I like or want. I showed him a few pics of when I liked my color and then he said, ok, just leave this to me. He went in the back and mixed up the formula, and within minutes he was applying it to my hair … he watched it until it got the color he wanted, which wasn’t much time at all. And voila, I kid you not, the color was perfect. Rudy has never met me before … it was just chance I asked asked him if he could help me, and I walked out so incredibly happy! He really knows his stuff and I was so impressed. Recommend him 100%!!!
