Work here most customers love it here and I personally have been shopping at this store all my life and have never had a bad experience with my now co workers! It can be confusing for new customers but overall they try their hardest to make the place in the way our founder Mr.Jenkins would want

Went to the deli to order a Cajon Po'boy sub and the lady at the counter told me they did not offer it anymore, so I asked if I could just do it as a make it myself type and she very rudely told me that I was not allowed to put shrimp on a sub period.

May 20th I walked from the parking garage upstairs to the publix lobby and approached the customer service kiosk. The woman in front of me was cashing out a lotto ticket and purchasing a new one. She was talkative so after her business transaction I waited a solid minute and half before approaching the middle aged dyed blonde haired woman with glasses "khrisy" or something close to that name. After greeting her with a hello and how are you I handed her a lottery ticket to cash out for me for 5 dollars. I wanted to quickly buy a drink with that 5 dollars given it's about 90 degrees outside today. But instead of cashing me out just like she did the woman before me, she instead asked for my ID. Mind you the legal age to play scratch off tickets in FL is 18. I'm 29 years old with a beard, born in 1995. So after telling me she must see id to cash me out I asked her if she asked the woman before me for ID. "Kristi" replied no. Another worker young woman asked me if I wanted her to ask the manager I replied yes and while waiting I told the gentleman behind me he can go infront of me, instead if me holding up the line, you know? We'll "kristi" also didn't ask this gentleman for his ID before selling him a lottery ticket. So after the younger woman told me her manager said no she won't give me 5 dollars from a scratch off lottery ticket you only have to be 18years old to play legally. I walked down stairs to my vehicle grabbed my ID and proceeded back to the customer service desk. Showed ID. Took my 5 dollars and bought my drinks. Very inconsiderate and inconvenience and poor customer service even just based on her communication twords me. Not to mention she sold a ticket to a 3rd person I witnessed before exiting the store. "Kristi" getting to pick and choose who she thinks "looks" of age to purchase or cash out a lottery ticket is ubserd, and CLEARY not the job for her or the glasses on her face. The fact that 3 people in the span of the 11 or 12 minutes I was there was not asked for ID but I was is very very annoying and inconsiderate. I do NOT look under 18. At best I look 25. At best. "Kristi" or Karen whatever her name was around 330pm on a Monday should be spoken to about this.

Where shopping is a pleasure...lol. It is for the most part, thats why I gave 5 stars. But, the deli - ordering a sandwich takes soooo long. Even when I order in advance, its never done. My brother is a grocery manager at another Publix and he says all the deli departments are like that...lol. But, to be honest, you cannot be a PUB SUB! None of the food chains can compete at all. It is worth the agonizing wait for a delicious PUB SUB!
