After being totally disappointed with my previous vet I called to get my dog in this morning at Live Oak (based on reviews) and they were able to see her same day and start getting her feeling better. The receptionist was very pleasant and kind. The vet was also very nice and listened to all of my concerns. My doggie was very comfortable with him and the techs. We will definitely be back!

Started with this that 25 years ago when we moved to Florida. Excited to see the practice expanding and we have always got phenomenal, straightforward care.

I transferred from a different vet clinic almost a year ago and glad I was told about Live Oak. So far better care, pricing and medication for my cat. Will recommend this vet clinic to others.

I am so thankful for Live Oak Veterinary Hospital. When I first took my dog there it was because their prices were so good. They assisted my dog, Optimus Prime with his transition. They were so kind to get me in right away and were so kind and caring. ❤️

The entire staff is very friendly and knowledgeable. They care more about the animals than making a buck, and they explain things in ways that the average person understands.

I have taken my cats to Live Oak for over 20 years. Dr Bryan has saved the lives of several of my furkids. I have had several special needs kitties over the years and Live Oak helps so very much with their care. Every one there is helpful and caring. I started going to live oak because it was close to my home. I have now moved across town, but will continue to make the drive there, I want the BEST care for my sweet kitties. A special shout out to Michelle for keeping it all together at Live Oak.

Got us in right away on a Monday morning to help with our dogs allergies/ear infection. The infection was pretty bad and everyone on staff remained so kind, not once did they make me feel bad. Did not try to sell me unnecessary care. Would recommend to anyone that needs vet service.

This place is wonderful! It was recommended to me by a friend and lived up to his review. Lydia the receptionist is the best. The vet was extremely gentle and the shot was efficiently done. Along with a nail clip so now lots of play for me and my kitty. It was very easy to get there. Looking forward to my cats next visit.

We've been bringing our fur-family here for years. They have the best/ kindest staff you'll ever meet. We live in Dunedin and make the drive because we live them so much. If you're looking for a vet, look no further.

Dr. Bryan and his team are genuinely friendly, always able to see you on short notice, and, as other reviewers have noted, treat you like real people. However, the reason I'm giving Live Oak 3 stars is as follows: the care was simply the bare minimum for our two older cats, who were patients there since 2017, and this likely cost one cat her life and may have shortened the lifespan of our surviving one.Earlier this year, my 12-year old cat Sputnik developed a bacterial infection, which was treated, but then lost her appetite, and later died at the emergency vet within the course of 4 weeks. Early on in the situation, Dr. Bryan mentioned offhand that the infection could be a harbinger of cancer, but there was no follow-through with a recommendation to have this or other causes of her illness ruled out, aside from a check-in from the always-nice staff, as her symptoms worsened. He was slow to refer me to a veterinary internist or hospital where more advanced diagnostics (ultrasounds etc.) could be performed, until I grew increasingly concerned and called about this myself. By then, CARE or Blue Pearl couldn't fit us in until it was truly an emergency (when she vomited oily bile and wouldn't eat, drink, or void), and this was, sadly, the day she died, while at a strange vet. We were devastated - she was only 12. I blame myself every day. I trusted, and wanted to trust, Dr. Bryan, to both of our cats' detriments.I don't know whether Sputnik would have lived, and of course an animal's death or disease isn't always preventable or treatable, but we now take our remaining 14-year old cat Koshka to Plummer's, and I'm very struck by the comparison in quality and thoroughness of care. (Koshka, a big cat, can be hostile when nervous, and Dr. Bryan was understandably reluctant to examine her. Therefore, she had no thorough physical examination, beyond weight or vaccine status, for a few years.)1. Dr. Dibler at Plummer's immediately wrapped Koshka tightly in a towel and was able to proceed with a complete physical examination, including temperature, checking for masses, ears and eyes, and tartar. The vet and the techs took time to establish a rapport, and also gave her time to get used to her surroundings.2. Plummer's ran a senior feline examination, which they offer as a matter of course to patients 7 years or older, and determined through this that Koshka has stage 2-3 kidney disease. While this condition is obviously terminal, they immediately recommended a multi-part mitigation strategy to prolong her quality and length of remaining life, and referred us to CARE, which has been a terrific partner in her treatment.3. Plummer's is a modern, data-centric practice. Their vet techs have iPads / tablets which they use to explain and talk through their suggested treatments as well as the associated cost upfront and before you agree. So, they position themselves to be as medically "aggressive" or "conservative" as you are comfortable with them being, but you're involved in the decision from the outset.I hope Dr. Bryan and his team will consider modifying and modernizing some of their feline lifespan milestone check-ups, or at least offer them as options for customers who are willing to pay.In spite of everything, I wish him, his team, and his patients all the best.

Dr. Bryan is professional, intelligent, and kind. He explains everything he is doing and will even explain the mechanism of action for the medicine your pets are on. He hires individuals that are kind, relatable, and put your animals at ease. We cannot say enough amazing things about this doctor and his staff! We are grateful!!

It doesn't look like much when you walk in but the vet is very caring about your animals. Took care of my little guy for two years and I recently had to move and I'll miss Live Oak.
