Had a fantastic experience with me and my wife getting tattoos at Black Amethyst today. Booking the appointment was very easy and they were extremely quick to respond. Dimitri was our artist and he does incredible work. His skill is fantastic and he is very gentle, friendly, sanitary, and awesome. Would absolutely recommend anyone visit this shop for your next tattoo and visit Dimitri.

This is a great shop if you’re looking for a skilled artist to do custom work. I was lucky enough to work with Dimitri to come up with a sleeve design and I couldn’t be happier. All of the artists are great and do incredible work and you won’t be disappointed if you choose to come here for your tattoo!

Not only do they do beautiful tattoos, but, being a woman, they have the coolest selection of shirts, t-shirts, dresses and jewelry. Dimitri took very good care of both myself and my sister in designing and doing our tattoos which were in memory of our mom. Thanks !! ?

J. Michael is the absolutely the best of the best. If you’re considering where to get a tattoo, definitely have him whip you up some art. You won’t be disappointed.We have gone to him twice - both times with my husband. The first was a portrait of our Malinois Shepard in 2022, which came out beautiful. The second was to get a quarter sleeve of our wedding bouquet, this year. We are obsessed with both, and will only go to him with any tattoo.He’s not only a great tattoo artist, but amazing at turning your ideas into a phenomenal tattoo. I highly recommend Black Amethyst Tattoo Gallery! I have been getting tattooed here for years by J. Michael. He’s done all my work and I refuse to go anywhere else. J. Michael’s line work, shading, and drawings are like none other. He takes his time to ensure straight lines and perfection. J. Michael is a color expert and always makes the design pop. I was recommended to the owner by a teammate of mine that had done a lot of previous work for him. I am very particular about who tattoos me so when doing the research for this place I reviewed everything. After consulting with J Michael I felt I was able to communicate my ideas and he was able to put his own take on them while staying true to the concept. A month after the consultation I came in to see what he drew up for my leg piece (which was a tribute piece for my deceased cousin). I was absolutely blown away with J Michael's design and couldn't wait for him to start the tattoo process.Within two sessions he created this amazing piece on my leg that not only looks great amongst my other tattoos but pays great tribute to my cousin. It was absolutely worth the price and I'm still just in awe of what he has done. I will definitely be telling my teammates and friends this is a worthy artist to go to in the Tampa Bay area.Additionally I will say my communication with the shop was very efficient.
