I had my BMW towed here, I told them it was low fuel pressure. They quoted me not $1990 for a battery wire and an alternator. I approved it and then had second thoughts in the next day.
I called them intending to get it towed to another shop because they wanted to replace $2000 worth of parts without any other indication something was bad, just overall didn’t seem like it would fix anything as nothing indicated any issues with battery power and was pretty obviously a fuel pressure issue.
Guy tells me OH WAIT we’re not doing the alternator, we’re doing the fuel pump and a battery wire due to fuel pressure like I told them originally. (Cars been serviced multiple times in in the last 2 months, nobody has ever said anything about this battery wire)
While I didn’t want the battery wire I was kindof out of options, I go to look in my trunk and the rear sill plate is detached still, there’s gloves from the mechanic in the trunk, none of the carpets were reinstalled correctly or with any care at all, and when I brought this up to the shop they said “well yeah there might be a glove left in there but it came in like that” (it certainly did not, they removed it to change the battery wire)
Regardless leaving a mess in my car and not fully assembling what they took apart was ridiculous and absolute amateur work.
Not to mention, I try to call and leave a voicemail and he asks me to text him, then sends me a picture of a disfigured foot with toe(s) amputated claiming he’s at the hospital with his son. Which may be totally true but sending a customer of your son’s gruesome injury is the most inappropriate thing I could imagine a business owner doing. Never taking my car here again obviously, dude talks about BMWs like they’re some sort of alien technology, surprised he can get his head even wrapped around his own cellphone.
Editing this review only 2 days later because they also severely overfilled my coolant and mixed it with another type, which you obviously shouldn’t do. No idea why anyone who would even halfway consider themselves a mechanic would fill a coolant expansion tank as high as it can go.

Super fast and accommodating! Took my jeep in for service and found that I needed breaks badly so they got me right in same day to do it at a very reasonable price! Couple weeks later I needed an oil change and they got me right in and had it done in less than an hour! Highly recommend!

Went here for front breaks on a 2019 Chevy Silverado. I had no lights on the dash when I left it there. When I returned the mechanic stated that my engine service light was on and indicated that I had a brake electronics issue.
The mechanic stated that it would cost me to replace the item. I said that when I dropped the truck off it had no problems and they were only supposed to change the brakes and sensor that I supplied.
They then removed my wheel, cut a zip tie that was holding the sensor in place (no zip tie was necessary) and then clipped the sensor into the brake pad the correct way. Go figure, my engine light turned off and the brakes worked fine.
I believe they were trying to get more money out of me for an manufactured electronics issue and when I started asking questions they fixed the issue quickly. Not an honest mechanic. What's interesting is they would get more business and make more money by just being honest. I'll never go back.
I read the owners response today at 6pm. I will give the company credit for fitting me into their schedule because I'm from out of town. The mechanic who spoke with me was very nice and friendly. Maybe my perception of what was going on with my vehicle and the explanation from the mechanic made me suspicious. I was happy that I didn't leave until things were corrected though. I will evaluate my parts and vehicle when I return home. Until then I will keep this post the way it is. I will also be the first to apologize if I find out my perception is wrong.

I was driving home from work and my car was making a strange scraping noise, I called and explained what happened and they were able to see me right away with no appointment and “free” of charge (MINOR issue that is able to be repaired quickly). Very friendly members and owner Sonny I will be coming back to repair the breaks on my Lexus and get regular oil changes! It is kind people and gestures like these that helps make the world go round, especially in todays economy LOL.

My husband took his Toyota MR2 into this shop for an oil leak. They never repaired the leak and had it on and off in the shop for over a year. The last time we took it in they told us they wouldn't be able to work on it for several months. I was transferred out of state for my job and had to leave the car there because the leak was extensive. Over the last year my husband continued to call about the car without response. In December of last year my husband finally spoke to someone at the shop who advised the mechanic working on the car, Troy, had quit and they would assign another mechanic.
Three days later they called and said the car was ready and it ran great and he could come pick up. The next day my husband was rushed to the hospital for Congestive Heart Failure. Three days later they called him on his cell while he was still in the hospital and told him the car was not running and they had to do some work to it and the total would now be $1,600. He advised them that they had never fixed what was wrong and the previous mechanic, Troy had told him there would be no cost as they were never able to repair the oil leak. He had already paid them over $2000. Four days before they had told him the car ran great and he did not authorize the additional repair. The person said they would get back with him.
Once out of the hospital, he began calling the shop again. They finally responded to him a couple weeks ago and told him there was a lien on the car for $1,600. He asked them why did they do the $1,600 in repair without his authorization. They again didn't have any answers. Today he called them and was told they sold his car.
My husband is still ill. His Ejection Fraction is 15% and he will have to have various surgeries and procedures. This incident has caused him much stress and anxiety. Now they have sold his deceased father's car because it was one of the 1st cars of this model made and it is a desired car to some collectors. He doesn't care about the money but it had a lot of sentimental value to him.
There are people that take advantage of the sick and the elderly. Please BEWARE!!!!!

Great service!! This is our go to place for maintenance and repairs. Mike provides excellent communication through calls and texts. He takes the time to provide explanations and info if needed and even sends pictures/updates. The service is very fast, even for larger repairs and my car drives like new at 13 years old! The price is absolutely affordable and immensely appreciated! If you’re only there for a short time there is a new bar/restaurant, convenience store, and even a library a short walk away making this a great location also. Thank you Mike!

I recently visited this local auto repair shop to address a problem with my car’s transmission, specifically gears that were not shifting smoothly. I chose this shop due to its proximity and the advertised diagnosis fee of $138. Unfortunately, my experience did not meet expectations. Despite being charged over $500, the primary issue was not resolved. The service provided was limited to a transmission fluid change and a general clean-up, with a warning that the transmission might not last long. Regrettably, the hard shifting issue resurfaced just 15 miles after the service.
I then sought a second opinion from another mechanic who resolved the issue for a lower cost by replacing a faulty solenoid. Based on my experience, I cannot recommend this shop. It seems they lack thoroughness and possibly the necessary expertise to diagnose and effectively fix transmission problems. Please consider looking elsewhere if you need reliable automotive repair services.
Now the manager is pretending that it is a case of mistaken identity, but from my credit card records, I read:
9/26/23 AFFORDABLE AUTO & TRUCK ST PETERSBURG $487.64.... for literally nothing.
I also called, left a message for new appointment, but no call back.

I recently took my 2016 Nissan Altima to Affordable Auto in St. Petersburg for some brake issues, and I couldn't be happier with their service. I called them in the morning and was pleasantly surprised to have my car looked at within just 45 minutes.
Their team was professional and efficient, without being pushy about additional repairs. They thoroughly checked my car and offered helpful suggestions, respecting my decision to stick to the necessary fixes.
Even when a minor issue popped up after the repair (a warning light due to a not completely filled brake line), they were quick to address it in a later appointment, resolving it promptly and efficiently.
Their attentive service and quick response time truly stand out. I highly recommend Affordable Auto of St. Petersburg for their professionalism, reliability, and excellent customer care.
