I recently rented a car from this location. Upon arrival I was told that they didn't have the vehicle I reserved, but that they would call me if one became available. By the way, I had got there via Uber. Meanwhile, they had a luxury vehicle on the lot, but they told me that they could only give it to me for an additional $15 a day. 15 Dollars per day may not be much, but I was not willing to accept such an imposition, simply out of principle. They should honor their commitments even if that entails providing an upgrade for no additional charge. Fortunately, while this was going on, a customer happened to drop off a car, similar to the one I booked. The car smelled like cigarettes and had over 83,000 miles on it. Finally, a few weeks after returning the rental vehicle, I get a bill for tolls, which I was expecting. However, to my surprise, their $20 tolls fee was accompanied by a $39.96 "convenience fee" - A total rip off! In sum, if you are looking for decent vehicles and service, make sure you go elsewhere. They may lure you in with low online rates, but believe me, you will end up paying for it.

Created a reservation well in advance. There were no available cars when I arrived and no clue on when they would have my reservation available. The customer service over the phone provided no help either as their entire local system was experiencing a car shortage they did not tell the customers. You arrive late, they charge you. They arrive late and tell you it is what it is. Does not seem like good business

I showed up before 5pm to return the car that I rented.No one was there- they were closed.Tried to call but could never get anyone to answer the phone. Endless loops of rambling and could never speak to anyone.Now tomorrow it is considered late and I will have to pay for another day of rental unless I can get someone (hopefully a live human being) to talk to me.UPDATE: I received a call from the manager his name is Jeff. He was very very rude and confrontational. I told him that I returned the car before 5:00 p.m. and he was not there. He insisted that he was there. I took pictures to document when I arrived. He charged me a late fee anyway. He was very unprofessional. A poor example of customer service. And not a good representative of Hertz.

Avoid this HERTZ location at all costs!!! Save yourself the stress. As others have mentioned in the reviews, the customer service is poor & awful communication. I have had pleasant experiences at other Hertz locations & been using other Hertz locations for almost 10 years now. This gulf blvd location is awful! They do not even have a key drop off box. I tried calling their front desk about 6 times in 2 days during open hours and they never picked up the phone to help me. PLUS , the woman with dark short hair misinformed me , and should NOT be selling car insurance. Please take my advice and do not go there or waste your money on this Hertz location.

0 stars. NOTE THAT THIS LOCATION IS CLOSED FROM 12 TO 1 DAILY. AND IS VERY RARELY OPEN UNTIL 5. IT'S A TOTAL CRAPSHOOT WHETHER IT'S ACTUALLY OPEN.Have rented from this location countless times in the past. Tried to call to ensure that they are open on MLK. You simply cannot get anyone from the location to talk to you. There are no options to talk with a human being. I showed up at 1205. There was a person there, but the door was locked. I knocked. His/her response was.... 1 oclock. Yes, that's right. S/He clocked out for lunch and wouldn't talk to anyone. I understand that, truly. Power to the working class!However, their operator does not specify this daily closure. So, you're SOL if you're short on time and get there between 12 and 1.Hertz is trash org, for sure. I had to pay an uber to get home for a 1 oclock call.The employee was helpful and very nice, so 5 stars for them.

Says they are open till 5; can’t get on the phone with them anytime after 12 and then when you finally get through it says their closed at 3. Completely nonsensical

Genuinely one of the worst customer service experiences I’ve ever had in my life. We booked online and paid in advance to pick up our car at noon, note on door said “lunch break from 12-1pm”. We didn’t receive any heads up that no one would be there until 1pm and had to wait for an hour in the hot sun to get our car. Completely unacceptable, I would highly recommend avoiding this location. Very rude customer service and the woman at the front desk had a terrible attitude. Never again.
