The following is our opinion:
We have been 30 year clients of Ruskin Animal Hospital. When Dr. Ott owned the hospital, the staff was delightful and there was not much turnover. The prices were reasonable. Dr. Waldy and the entire team were compassionate and very friendly.
Dr. Ott is now retired. The new non-local corporate ownership has resulted in significantly higher prices...and significant veterinarian turnover...and significant staff turnover. Dr. Waldy is no longer there, and we stuck with Ruskin Animal Hospital when Dr. Mary Criado was there. However, the lone veterinarian is Marci Miranov, who was not compassionate with our dogs and was passive aggressive with us. The price for the services we needed that day were triple the price in past years.
Another example in the change in service is that we rescued a starving puppy on a very busy roadway. We called Ruskin Animal Hospital to let them know that we had just rescued the puppy, and that we were bringing her in for an emergent examination to which we were told we would have to wait a week. After insisting upon speaking to management, we were placed on hold and ultimately we were permitted to bring the puppy in right away. In past times, Ruskin Animal Hospital gladly accommodated such reasonable and compassionate requests.
We made the appropriate decision for our doggies and switched to a veterinarian office that is owned by a local veterinarian. We have found the service and the prices at the locally owned veterinarian to be in line with our former experiences with Ruskin Animal Hospital. Our opinion of Ruskin Animal Hospital has dropped from 5 stars to 1 star.

Dr. Miranov is wonderful. She cares about her pet patients as well tgeir humans. Correct diagnosis, medicine, changed cat food and we are all doing better. Thank you. The Ruskin Animal Hospital team took care of my little sweet dog, treated my senior dad with respect and patience, kept me updated via phone on what's going on and did everything the way it should be done, wait time was short, did needed tests, checkup and meds and the total cost was very reasonable. Wonderful experience with Dr. Catalina who performed dental work and removed cysts off my dog. She is an amazing Dr. , very caring and organized.

This is the best vet I’ve ever been to. They are very friendly, great with the animals and best price around. They have helped me multiple times when the bill was a little higher than what I could afford. I didn’t ask them to either they just offered. Thank you for being there in a time that is very stressful.

If you get your dogs' nails trimmed here, do it on Monday. Any other day there is a $35 service charge that they don't tell you about until it's time to pay.

Awesome experience and so far reasonably priced. Loved everyone there even though They didn't give me a Nome ? LOL
