I booked my rental car through Costco travel which usually doesn’t give Budget as the best option and I wish they didn’t this time. The price was comparable and fine but the check in process was lengthy. The man assisting us at check in was also very uninterested in helping clients it seemed like he preferred to be a robot and provide as little customer service as possible. I am sure they are understaffed, which is not the employees fault, but they could be more positive. Our rental was also FILTHY. We should not have to take the car directly to the car wash because I couldn’t see through the horribly dirty windshield, the dash was full of greasy fingerprints and overall the car had a heavy BO odor. After the poor service we had getting the car I figured there was little to no chance the representative would help us so we spent the money at the car wash and cleaned it ourselves.

No mid-size cars left by 5 pm. Check in took much longer than normal...new employee, took 3X to get the process complete. Employee was patient & sincere. Offered a SUV or van. Van worked well.

When I picked up my rental car, I drove from Punta Gorda to Venice and realized my tire gauge was low. As I pulled over, I realized I had two flat tires on the right side of my car. I can’t believe how incredible you all took scare of the situation. You had another rental car ready for me 3 miles away and you had my damaged car tied away. I highly recommend Budget just from this one experience.

Very bad experience with the attendant at help desk. He felt offended because I asked for a contract copy. That’s why I use Turo and I am happy with. I won’t come back to get car at Budget Punta Gorda.

Vehicle was new and great! Staff was great. Could have needed a few more agents at counter upon arrival or an express checkout. Everything else was great

Booked a reservation for $71 and 10min later decided to cancel. Melissa the manager says we will be charged $150 for cancellation fees. First, its double than my reservation. Second I called 10min later to cancel. Third manager Melissa was a complete jerk that was rude and short winded with me. I'll never book with this company and will advise everyone Not to use this company!! No wonder they have only 3.2stars

Because of a hurricane, I had to drop off my car at a different airport 38 miles away from original location. I was charged $675.74 for a Toyota Corolla for 65 hours. I do NOT consider that budget friendly.

Renting a car was a new experience for us. Budget is located in a pole barn type building across from the Bailey Terminal. So not to hard to find. Checking in would of been more pleasant if the agent spoke slower and clearer. And made sure you understood all the rules. Such as returns. We did not get the car we requested. And the agent made no attempt to give any instructions about a Subaru. The Budget building is a pretty long walk to the Departure area. A golf cart type shuttle for safety in the Florida heat. Should be a must. Car was not cleaned well before we got it. Price for the week was not all that budgeted

Car was dirty in and out. Had damage in multiple areas of the car in and out but was not told about it at checkout. Had to spend 1/2 hour on phone to reach customer service to discuss, they wouldn’t pair me through to local branch it was rented at. Charged me $10.50 for a gallon gas even though I filled up 1/2 mile up the road before dropping off. Bad experience on what should have been a seamless transaction.

Rental experience was fine other than the car smelled like an old cigarette. Even though there were no smoking stickers all over the car threatening a $450 cleaning fee for smoking in the vehicle. But overall it was a nice car and the best rate I could find for picking up and returning back to Punta Gorda airport. Thanks!

4star because I had a car.. pick up thousands of mile away from home & told sorry we don’t have a car. Miraculously we get one. Car dirty. But not stranded. Return vehicle on FULL. Fueled at station next to airport. Charged for fuel. At drop off, the person chatting on phone near my vehicle turned out to be the clerk checking in my return. Told me I was set and leave keys in dash. Definitely make a back up plan. Two weeks later I received charge without explanation.

Staff was nice, the price was ok but the smell and cleanliness INSIDE the vehicle was not good. Even air fresheners didn’t help. The cabin filter was nasty- dark black and full of dead bugs. We changed that out and it helped some. There was trash in back floorboard and used toothpicks and flossers in the door as well as coffee or drinks drips all over center console.

Reserved a small car three months in advance. Our flight was to arrive at 10:50 pm, so we were concerned the Budget airport office might be closed by the time we arrived. The website stated they were open until 11:-00pm, so we called and the employee assured us that they would stay open for us and that they monitored the late night flights. He said they were open until 11:30 pm, no worries. When we arrived, we were told that our car was given to someone else, but they had a Ford 150 truck, a Jeep pickup, or a Honda Pilot left. We wanted the car for the good gas mileage, not a big gas hog. We opted for the Honda Pilot and when he rang up our receipt it showed it was going to cost $1100, mind you, the amount that we reserved the car for was $400. He said it was an upgrade, sure, a $700 upgrade, I think not. They wanted to push us aside and wait on other customers as we were making phone calls, no way. Long story short, after many calls and after an hour and a half, we drove the Pilot out of the lot at 1:00 am. We were actually given a better price by the last guy we talked to and only charged $387. Needless to say, we won't be dealing with Budget. Lastly, found out they were open until 12:30 am, someone needs to correct the website hours.

I rented thru priceline for the best rate.Car front window looked like they used a dirty cloth to wipe it.There was no lot attendant so I had to go back inside to ask questions? the rental counter rep could have walked outside to go over the car since there were no other customers for Avis&Budget. They share a space at the airport.They were very nice but I guess I expected good old fashioned customer service, not self service. My bad

Outstanding check in, professional and nice. The vehicle was fine. Upon return I was charged for an additional day. I had until 5:30 PM and returned at 5:24 PM. No one was on the lot so I had to use the drop box. The person, who checked my car in - Matt was not on the lot but apparently didn't check the drop box until 5:55 PM and charged me for an extra day. That is fraud. I regret not having more time to go inside and find someone. Make sure you check your e-receipts for over charging. Better yet, rent from someone you can trust. If you like Budget there is a good one in Venice. It is far but worth the trip. Budget at RSW is really good too.
