I brought my baby in late Friday 10/18. He needed surgery to remove a large mass in his abdomen. My nerves were shot. Dr. Nick admitted him. Dr. Rivera did his surgery. My baby pulled through and was back home with me on Tuesday, October 22. I have to say I'm so thankful for all who helped take care of my Angelo. The staff were very helpful. Dr's called me every morning to give me an update. I was able to visit Angelo in a private room and cuddle him, feed him, brush him, and walk him.
I would recommend VMC to anyone who needs care for their babies. Thank you again everyone at VMC. My heart is whole again. Angelo is resting peacefully in his bed tonight thanks to you.

The Veterinary Medical Center of St. Lucie County has been an incredible source of support for our family. When our beloved 14-year-old lab mix, Peyton, reached the end of her life, they were not only straightforward and clear about her prognosis but also incredibly compassionate. They guided us through her palliative care, providing medication and education so we could give her the best care possible in her final days.
When the time came to say goodbye, the entire team showed immense empathy, from the front desk staff to the techs and the doctor. They allowed us all the time we needed to be with Peyton, never rushing the process and giving us space to say goodbye both before and after. Their compassion truly helped ease such a difficult moment.
Since then, we've adopted a new pet from Peggy Adams with known health issues, and the Veterinary Medical Center of St. Lucie continues to show the same care and love for him as they did for our princess Peyton. Their consistency in compassionate care is remarkable. If I could give them six stars, I absolutely would!

Started going here with my sister’s sick puppy, and turned into our normal vet, as well as my parents and my sister. They have been so so great from when my dog almost ate a toad, to when I lost my puppy. Not only do they always follow up, but they actually care about your pet’s wellbeing. Living in Port St. Lucie for almost 15 years, we’ve been to quite a few vets in the area and VMC is not only the most affordable by our experience, but they are the kindest. I’ve been dealing with constant yeast ear infections with my 2y remi and been to 3 vets in the past year with her. They have been the only ones to provide a lasting solution and actually help the issue, as well as being so attentive to her problems and needs. My sister accidentally found herself with a littler of puppies and they were on standby on the phone during birth and when they took the mama in, they were so helpful and kind. I recommend VMC to everyone I know with cats or dogs. They really care.

Huge thanks to the team at VMC for going above and beyond! I show up last Wednesday believing we had an appointment for Pepper when we get there the front desk noticed I didn’t have an appointment in till the following Wednesday! Thankfully, I wish I had her name the front desk personnel quickly noticed Pepper only need to see tech! She kindly double checked to see if a tech could help us since I drive around half an hour with a toddler when we have to bring Pepper to the Vet! Fortunately, the tech was able to help us with what Pepper needed and everything worked out perfectly! So grateful for making it happen. ?

Everyone’s displayed concern about Ruby’s health was heartwarming. The presentation of different options was very helpful with decision making. The return call questioning Ruby’s status was very appreciated.

Our doodle licked a bufo toad so we rushed her to this 24 hr vet…we were met with an urgency, kindness, and compassion ensued with an assurance that all was well. Thank you to the staff and the kind girl at the front desk for taking care of us and our baby. We’re sleeping well tonight ❤️

We took our 12 year old Bichon Maltese in around 10 PM Sunday. She was in late stage heart disease and having trouble breathing. They took her right away and put her in oxygen. They showed us to a private room and communicated with us pretty frequently. In a few hours, it was apparent she was not getting better so they brought her to us so we could be with her at the end. Of course it was heartbreaking to watch her pass but we are so thankful that we were with her. The doc and staff were kind and caring through it all. They sent a card a few days later and made a clay cast of her paw. We are very grateful for their kindness.

I had to rush my dog here after she got into my bottle of iron pills and ate 59 of them. They were so kind and took such good care of my little girl. I kept calling even after taking her home, as I’m an anxious dog mom and had a million questions and they were never anything but kind and knowledgeable with their responses and encouraged me to call back if I had any concerns at all. I obviously wouldn't want to have to bring my Penny back for an emergency but if I needed to I wouldn’t hesitate to bring her here. Such caring and professional staff. Thank you so much for helping my baby.

Always nice, friendly, always on time. And they always mention what a lovely and cooperative cat she is. I'm glad to know that.

DOG LOVERS BEWARE! This place could care less about your animal. My friend and I waited for 3 hours for my dog to be seen.
When we asked how long it would be some tech vet named Logan came out and started yelling at me. I took my dog down to Jupiter ER and was seen in 10 minutes with a very caring staff. The 45 minute drive was well worth it. I will never recommend or bring my dog back to this place.

Staff is nice, but beware how sneaky they are with up-charging your bill. They will take advantage of you if you are special needs. They will suck whatever money they can out of you before you leave the building. After leaving with a bill of almost $200 for an exam and medications that I didn't even need for my dog, I don't think I'll be coming back.

I brought my dog in to emergency after a gran mal seizure. This was the second time in her life she had seizures, and was already on medicine. She had missed a dose of medicine, and I asked them to increase her medicine so that she could catch up and all they did is watch her for 24 hours stating she didn’t have any more seizures, but when I asked to see her, she was still having seizure activity, just not a gran mal, and they failed to recognize it. And they also failed to do anything to catch her up on her medicine despite my asking them to. when I took her home, she continued to have seizure activity. I ended up taking her to the Martin County vet Emergency, and they handled her perfectly with so much more care and giving her more medicine and stopped her seizure activity. Additionally, the doctor in Port St. Lucie had horrible bedside manner and seemed very careless in her communication however, at Martin county they were very professional and explained everything in detail with compassion.

I left this clinic after Covid as it had become so difficult to get even nail trims for my dachshunds in a timely manner.
I recently returned on an emergency basis with my 16 year old Spirit after he started experiencing breathing issues. His heart was failing, that on top of other issues he had developed. Taking him home with medications did not work. Once back at the hospital, the realization had set in that he was at a point of no return and it was time to let him go.
I want to thank the staff for being so professional and helpful to me and Spirit; especially Alex, Stephanie, and Elisa. Their kindness and empathy made his transition less stressful for both of us. Spirit went to God in peace knowing I was calm and at peace with this excruciating decision, and that I was in the hands of these lovely people.
Update: the day after my once-athletic ocd ball player left this world, my dachshund Sage and I went for a walk in exploration of a sign that Spirit had made it to Heaven. While sitting at a local pond, I snapped some photos and nearly fell over once home seeing my Spirit in the sky. ❤️??
