On Thursday, May 23rd, my boyfriend and I went to The Runaways Animal Rescue on Washington Street in Port Richey after Bobbi (a wonderful neighbor in Magnolia Valley) recommended them. Kathy, the woman at the shelter who facilitated the adoption, couldn’t have been more helpful. I’ve texted her with a few questions and she answered promptly. We adopted a 2 year old Shar Pei and a 5 month old mixed breed. We’re exhausted, but happy!

The Runaways Animal Rescue has been nothing but amazing for Pasco county, or even the Tampa region. The staff and volunteers are always so kind and informative. Runaways also helps with many programs in the county like a pet food pantry for in-need families, free microchipping events to keep pets connected to their family, and even TNVR! (Which is so needed in FL) I have fostered for this rescue many times with ease! They make the process for things very easy. I may have also adopted 3 fur-babies from them post foster…(photos attached ?). The Runaways Animal Rescue is the BEST! Thank you for all you do to help families and animals! ?

We found 2 kittens in a trash can. We reached out to the Runaways Animal Rescue on a Sunday after 6:00pm. They responded immediately! A volunteer was at our home to rescue the kittens within 30 minutes. Thank goodness, the kittens were terribly dehydrated. We are so grateful for the Runaways Animal Rescue’s expertise and rapid response!

Not only have I been a volunteer and worked alongside these amazing people that care and foster animals, I am also a neighbor. RAR is such a treasure to our community in many ways. It's a place where seniors and students can be shuttled in to learn and experience animals, care and giving hope to many disabled as they interact with animals who adapted to living with physical disabilities, aging, abandonment, and adoption.
A true rescue for both animals and humans!

The folks at The Runaways Animal Rescue are saints! They genuinely care about the health, safety, and happiness of all animals. The work they do in providing the best care is amazing, and they do it all with an outpouring of love. They paired us with our new fur baby and we couldn’t be happier we chose to adopt from them.
