I recently had a disappointing experience at this gym. The facility was consistently dirty, with the cleanliness of the equipment and overall environment falling far below acceptable standards. The restrooms were particularly unsanitary, which made using them an unpleasant experience. To make matters worse, some staff members were rude and unhelpful when these issues were raised. Due to these problems, my friends and I have decided to cancel our memberships. I hope the management addresses these concerns, as the gym has potential but currently fails to provide a satisfactory experience.

I had canceled with this LA Fitness back in 2018 because machines are old and not kept in working condition including the Sauna. Well thought I would try again just this last month. Well the sauna has yet to be available it’s been a month or so, the machines are still broken and cable machines are not kept running smoothly . In addition, I have been charged 2 monthly fees in the one month and unable to speak with the manager . I was informed by 3 different employees at the desk that it’s Chris I have to speak with for a refund. However, Chris is either not working that day, left earlier, or is never available on the phone. Even better, I am charged through my insurance nothing with LA Fitness. So I will just deal with the smaller gyms. On upside if you need a salesperson they are all over you when you enter the gym.

I’m new to the area - coming to this GYM for the past three months : it is not brand new but is ok to take care of your daily routine, nice respectful people - the A/C has been broken for the past two weeks and nobody from associates or management looks to be concerned about it - no signs of apologies or to tell us when this is going to be fixed. !!!! Temperatures above 80 degrees are not acceptable.. !!!! And just a little Mikey mouse blower is no going to do the job. !!!!
Understand that it is something mechanical but somebody needs to be pro-active to take care of this issue …!!!
Thanks.

Management was unable to help me despite multiple calls over multiple weeks in May and June, IT IS NOW JULY. I was referred to Membership services which goes straight to voicemail without any calls back. At this point, I had to dispute the charge on my credit card and will never recommend this gym or join it again

I was a member of LA Fitness in Port Orange for a while now, and overall, it was a positive experience. As with all LA Fitness locations, the facilities, classes, and equipment are top-notch. The variety of classes offered caters to all fitness levels. But, the equipment is old and many of the treadmills do not work and rusty.. The staff is friendly, but they do push you to get personal training, which in my opinion, is expensive, and not really that great.
a significant downside: the facility itself is in desperate need of repairs, especially when it rains. It seems like the building is literally falling apart during bad weather, with leaks and water damage being a common issue. This can be quite frustrating and detracts from experience. Pool was closed for months, and the sauna out of order very often.I hope management addresses these structural problems soon to ensure a safe and comfortable environment for all members.
Overall, I enjoy my workouts here but I strongly urge the facility to invest in much-needed repairs and deep clean.

Previously I would have given this location 5 stars. Recently the sauna was remodeled, 10 days without the sauna was a stinker but understandable. Then an additional 7 for further unexpected repair. Not fun but understandable again. What I can’t understand is why the sealing wood panels don’t line up exposing gray insulation and why I have splinters in my behind and leggings from sitting and leaning on the wall after the sauna remodel is completed. When I brought it to the attention of a “manager” he told me that’s expected there should be a sign warning about splinters. There is no sign! And there has never been a sign prior to the remodel which leads me to believe that’s NOT normal. Lots of ladies use the sauna in little to nothing this is unacceptable and dangerous. The wood needs to be sanded at the very least!

Absolutely terrible gym, staff is completely unprofessional and childish. Dirty and overpriced gym. Court is aged and can definitely see why everyone is cancelling for the new gym down the street

Started coming to this gym location when I’m in town for the beach. I typically go Orlando locations south of Port Orange. Equipment is older than some of the newer locations in central Florida yet still fully furnished of all the amenities. Besides the racketball courts I truly enjoy the sauna, which is the hottest I’ve ever been in my life 220 F. Hot tub, swimming pool, and showers much cleaner than typical locations that are neglected of proper cleanliness. If you’re looking to get your gym and sweat on this would be the only LA in the area for miles.

Chris is a rude and disrespectful man. Made me feel like I was less. I will not be returning to this gym. If corporate has any sense they'll get rid of this meat head.

The equipment is worn, old and rusty. The carpet is coming up and needs replaced. The treadmills are rickety and often times don’t work. 4 managers in the last 2 years with little to no interest in developing the staff? If it weren’t for the convenience and location, we would go to another gym. On the plus push side, the gym provides a sense of community a solid workout, my daughter loves going to the kids area and the gentlemen that runs the food/snack area is teriffic.

Had an absolutely horrible experience with the General Manager Named Chris. I would provide a last name or initial if it was given but he refused to provide that information.
All I wanted to do was cancel my family plan as I was the primary card holder. I had already spoken to Chris the week prior to make sure that the canalization would take effect before I was charged for the next month.
He told me that it was taken care of only for me to discover a new charge to bank account in the following days.
I re-entered the gym today to resolve the issue and was instantly met with hostility.
He was immediately rude,
interrupted me multiple times,
Despite my multiple attempts to de-escalate the situation, he continued to act belligerently saying, "I am only matching your energy."
I even tried to apologize if I did anything to upset him and told him I don't want any anger or hostility. Only for him to continue yelling and gaslighting me.
He said he had zero recollection of talking or helping me prior.
He claimed that this problem was entirely my fault.
He claimed that even though I was the card holder of the account, I had zero control over the activity of the other members of my family plan.
He claimed the only way for the other members to be canceled was for them to go to each of their own local LA fitness's and cancel it themselves.
When I told him I wanted to speak with corporate, he attempted to physically grab a piece of paper out of my hand. (the paper contained his first name and phone number.)
At this point my problems were three fold.
1. I have multiple members tied to my account that I cant cancel.
2. I have already been charged money for these inactive members. (even though I already attempted and was told they were canceled.)
3. I have been treated extremely rudely by the senior staff member.
At this point my only option was to call the corporate office and explain the situation.
They instantly told me that as the primary card holder, it was indeed MY RESPONSIBILITY and I had every right to cancel the other members on my plan.
The corporate office wasted no time canceling the other members and providing me a refund.
I want to state that never before have I ever felt such hostility or anger coming from any other employee at this location or any other location I have visited. The corporate office was very professional as well.
It is really a shame because LA fitness is a great gym with a great environment.
Although it is clear as day that Chris, the GM at this location, has some serious anger issues and has no right to be working in customer service.
