My little female dog was a labor at 8pm and I called them because she was having complications and no babies had been coming out for the past 2 hours prior to that and THEY RECOMMENDED I go see an emergency vet and told me I couldn’t go to them because I wasn’t a member of their clinic AND THEN I had another family member call to talk to them and they told my family member that they were understaffed… Port Charlotte needs to do better with emergency situations because my dog or her babies could of been harmed and loss their life because they REFUSED to take her… lucky her and her beautiful 3 little healthy babies made it with no complications all because of a clinic in Sarasota NOT THIS PLACE IN PORT CHARLOTTE. If I could give less stars I seriously would I’m so disappointed and disgusted by this place

Our dog, Lottie needed an emergency hysterectomy. After calling our usual vets once we got the money together (moving things around so we can save our dog) our vet informed us “should have came in before noon”, we then had to wait for the emergency vet to open at five. They took Lottie in right away… the staff was so kind and caring. Took her into surgery right away. Called us once surgery was done, informing us they need to keep her over night. We spent $700 on antibiotics with our usual vets, they told us to bring them in so they could use them on her, instead of charging us extra for antibiotics. Once we brought them in, they said Lottie is doing good and we could take her home…
Lottie is doing amazing!!! I cannot thank this place enough for saving our family (Lottie) and being so kind and caring…. You can tell they truly care about what they do. I am glad we used them instead of our usual vets. We will not be taking our dogs back to our usual vets… wish we could take them here, but they’re just for emergencies.

My husband and I sadly had to say goodbye to our fur baby Phoenix this past Saturday. It was a very difficult decision to make but we believe that he is no longer suffering. I greatly appreciate the professionalism, kindness and compassion the staff showed to us during a very sad time. I came home today to find a very sweet card in the mail from the Veterinary Emergency Clinic with a stamp of my Littles guys paw and some heartfelt messages from the staff, I was so appreciative and grateful for their care and kindness and have no doubt that the staff took great care of my little guy after we said good bye. Thank you for the very touching and heartfelt gift in memory of Phoenix. I would definitely recommend this clinic for any persons fury friends and family.

I cannot say enough about this facility. The staff and doctors were so very friendly and knowledgeable. They were compassionate about my little dog and took her in for emergency surgery. She was very well taken care of. I felt very comfortable calling at all hours to ask how she was doing. The doctors called every morning and every evening until she was able to come home. I highly recommended this animal emergency hospital and would never take my dog anywhere else.

I recently had to bring one of my resident’s pets here after not feeling well. It was an interesting situation on my part and Maddie at the front desk was so sweet, accommodating and understanding. The Vet was also very kind. My first experience here and I felt they were professional and very understanding.

Upon check in- Kayla was wonderful, kind and patient. Maddie took such good care of me in understanding what was going on and loving on sweet peach as soon as we came in. Dr Moran took great care of Peach and my visit in and out at 10pm at night for a sweet 8 lb shihpoo couldn’t have been more than 20 minutes all in. With everyone being so caring and attentive 5 stars.
