I want others to know that PNC Bank charges 2% fee to cash a check drawn on them if you are not an account holder. This would be inline with Loan Sharking. This is 2022 not prohibition years. Could this be illegal? The tellers and head bank teller stated that all banks charge this. Boy how out of touch they are with their competition. I will say that the head teller did some research while I was there concerning other banks and agreed that they were charging a lot more depending on the amount of the check you are trying to cash. Most banks charge less than $6 or $7 dollars to cash a check, not $72.00. Again stay far away from PNC if your cashing a check drawn on them, this policy is crazy. The employees were helpful BTW and not rude in any way. But this policy charge for check cashing drawn on PNC is Nuts.

I loved BBVA but now that it was bought out by PNC it is horrible so far. Online banking does not seem to be working. It says my access has been suspended. I tried resetting my account and does not recognize me. I tried calling the bank and when I press 3 to talk to a representative it doesn’t even recognize that I’m pressing a number and then the call fails. This is so frustrating! I don’t even know if we have a new routing and account number for this bank. I don’t know if my auto payments are coming out of my account. Or if direct deposits are going in. Going to the branch to see if I can get anywhere. Doesn’t look hopeful with the last review.

Might as well call this bank Wells Fargo as it is certainly not a "relationship" bank. They keep strange hours, randomly close certain week days with no notice, and are never open Saturdays. No matter how much money you keep in the bank with BBVA they will not loan you money unless its a 25k LOC @ 24% you desire. I have had to get all of my personal and business loans from other banks that I do not keep accounts with. They suck..... plain and simple. I'll be leaving soon.

I hate to have to write a bad review especially as the people I interacted with there seem nice. A year ago I feel I was strong-armed into signing up for a Clover contract that I clearly didn’t want. The BBVA rep said I could use the old Clover machine at a business I was taking over, but days later at the 11th hour he said “they changed their mind” so I had to sign a contract for a brand new Clover device in order to collect customer payments. I had clearly articulated I didn’t need it long term but because they had led me along for days telling me I could use the old device, I didn’t have time to explore other options so i had no choice as I literally had to collect customer payments immediately. Going forward was also a terrible experience. I got pelted with untold obscure fees from BBVA, First Data, and Clover that were not transparent but the most egregious fees were from Clover for obscure special fees and surprise fees. Additionally, the CC processing fees were above promised by the rep and were never transparent as there were often multiple component charges for any single sales transaction. The worst part of all is when I got wise enough to get away from Clover, I had to pay the thieves (First Data/Clover) to return their device to them. I hope that my bad experience can help someone avoid my costly mistake.

The staff at Compass at this Ponte Vedra location is always pleasant to work with, friendly, attentive and knowledgeable. They have a good variety of financial options including free checking, safe deposit boxes, and a drive thru, I would go as far as to say this staff goes out of their way to be helpful.

WARNING: Stay away from BBVA Compass! I opened an account at BBVA Compass in August of 2010. I have the original paperwork that clearly states there are no service charges. I received a letter in March of 2011 that also confirms there are no service charges. In May 2017, I received a statement dated April 1, 2017, indicating that a $15 monthly service charge was removed from my account. This was the first letter regarding the account since 2011. After making a few phone calls I learned BBVA Compass changed the account, without notifying me, and has been taking $15 a month for years! I know they have taken at least $450, but they are refusing to provide a statement showing the full amount. I have been trying for over a month to get a statement from BBVA Compass showing the total amount they took from my account, and to get them to return the money. After the first week a branch manager, Carlos Infante, said all he could do was return $45. What the hell is wrong with these people! During the second week I was directed to communicate with Renee Hathaway at BBVA Compass regarding the issue. Wednesday, May 17, 2017, I sent her an email requesting an itemized list of fees taken from my account and a refund for that amount. I have not receive any communications from Renee Hathaway, other than answering my phone call to confirm she received my email request. I have reported BBVA Compass to the Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta for changing my account without notifying me, taking money from the account without my authorization, and for not providing records of the money they took from me. It has been a month since I learned BBVA changed my account and has been taking my money. It appears it's going to be a long battle to get my money back, so I advise anyone doing business or thinking of doing business with BBVA Compass to stay away!!

Before I opened an account at Compass Bank, I thought all banks were impersonal corporate edifices that were reluctant to give loans to small businesses. But once I opened an account there, I not only came to know my banker on a personal basis, but she quickly granted my business a line of credit at a reasonable rate. Now I tell all my clients they need to open an account with BBVA Compass so they can find out what a personal banker is all about.

Now here is a Bank where you feel welcome and wanted as a customer. Margaret Lowinger is hands down the friendliest business banking manager I have come across in 40 years of working firstly in Finance, then business consulting and finally in Business IT Services. She combines that great customer service attitude with knowledge and the backing and support of a great team. If you are starting a business, or looking to move your business banking, do yourself a favour and make an appointment to see Margaret Lowinger.
