Very dog friendly. Very nice staff. We had our tree climbing event here in December. Nice outside pavilion. Our host was so good to us.The grounds need work since their flood in 2021 but they are working on it.The dorms were nice. Comfy beds and hot shower.I'll be back in the summer time.

First scuba dive in FL and what a success! I’ve only ever dived off the coast of CA and Bahamas and this reminds me of Bahamas a lot! The crystal clear blue water with lots of fishies that like to follow you around and the rock formations as well as reefs. It is a colder dive I had a 3mm wetsuit and towards the end was shivering. I think next time I’ll bring either a 5 or 7mm with a hood and then I’ll be nice and toasty…There’s a dive shop on site and you can rent everything besides fins and a mask. I would say very reasonably priced for a dive shop. We will be back and won’t forget our GoPro the next time..

The campground is horrible. There is hardly any maintenance. When we arrived, every single fire pit anywhere near us was filled with trash. One had an old tent folded up in it. Clearly they are not being cleaned out after people check out. The power boxes where we are supposed to plug our camper in, most of them are very beaten up to the point it doesn’t really feel safe to plug a camper into. We found a box that looked like it was in perfect condition but the transformer makes buzzing and sparking noises randomly throughout the day, so still doesn’t seem safe. We stayed 2 nights, first morning we didn’t have water for a while. Second morning again we wake up to no water. The bathrooms are absolutely disgusting and don’t seem to be being maintained either. We have camped here once a year for the past several years. It seems to get worse every year, and after this year I am not sure if we will return.

Visited July 29th, 2023. It was soooo crowded. Instead of a spring, it was more like an amusement water park, but worse. It was hectic and very loud. The entry fee is very expensive for what you get. $15.00 a person, I think kids are $10.00? We paid about $100.00 to get in. It was not relaxing in any way. It really wasn't fun. They have you sign a waiver at entry.Rightfully so. The slides on the back side of the park are insane. One daughter went down a slide and popped her head . She spent the rest of our visit with a bad headache. The next daughter went down a slide and busted her eye. Blood everywhere! Huge gash. The back side isn't well maintained. Grass is pretty high in that area. Because of the crowd, the park was dirty. The water was murkey because so many were in the water. There was trash floating around the water, too. I honestly would never go back. I would not recommend it. I'm not a tourist. I live in Florida. My husband grew up in that area and visited that spring very often as a teen. He said it's nothing like it was back in the day. He agrees.. Never going back. Too bad as we have a camper, and before yesterday, we were thinking we might camp. Nope

Clean up the area and for goodness sake clean the port a potties. They haven’t been cleaned for months. The bath houses are just as bad. Seems maintenance and cleanliness is forgotten about

Where to start..we booked room back in June and we were supposed to go dive but due to surgery, we couldn't dive but still kept it since we came up here from miami for a friend's birthday. We arrived at noon and were told by a young rude gentleman that the room won't be ready until 4 and come back then and he left. Okay..we came back at 3:50 and same person gave the room key and said middle door in that building. No number or nothing so we pretty much had to guess but didn't matter cause we quickly found our room since it was the room that was never cleaned and it was nasty. Apparently, they had miscommunication (forgot to mention we came earlier) to clean the room. A lady started yelling at someone, which we found out was the owner's cousin who does the house keeping here and there is only two of them to clean the whole place. The lady showed up about 40 mins later cause they yelled at her to come clean (pretty ridiculous) and she cleaned the room pretty well considering how nasty it was and just her to clean.I would not recommend anyone to stay here. Not only didn't they offer for a half a refund for the inconvenience, they didn't waive anything fees either. Even though you are staying on the property, you still have to pay $20 a person to go swimming. Which I understand you pay for the diving but for swimming! They also hit you with a bunch of fees. When you drive around the property it looks really sad. The place is not well kept and trash everywhere and just looks like the owner can careless. They do not have a cut off on how many people can come in, so if you are going swimming, be ready to be shoulder to shoulder. The worst part is that the swimmers are on the divers side when they aren't supposed too and nobody to tell them otherwise. The place has so much potential to be more than what it is and the amount of money this place brings in..they can also afford to hire more stuff instead of having rude individuals sitting in an office yelling at someone when it wasnt even their fault. But like I said, the owners of this place can careless. By the way, please make sure you call to confirm the room you are booking had a bathroom cause NOT all rooms on the property have bathrooms. They portable showers and bathrooms. The building next to the dive shop is the only one with each room having their own bathroom when I called to confirm before booking. Granted the shower is very very small. The room is run down looking with old shower head with no updates and the bed is beyond uncomfortable, felt like we were going to break it just by sitting on it. Please make sure you bring everything for showering cause they do not provide anything.Again! This place can be so much more than what it is..remind you divers from all over come here to dive and this is what they get when they stay here, also with swimmers having no respect for the diver side. It's sad. We will not be staying here again for obvious reasons. There are better places to stay.

Clean, clear water, 3 docks dedicated to scuba divers. The rental shop was great- cost $210 for two divers and one snorkeler. We rented bcd’s ,tanks, weights and regulators. Yes, there is a swimming area but 90% of the swimmers stay there, leaving the cavern basin for divers and snorkelers. There’s an old boat, a basketball court and several platforms for divers underwater. The bathrooms , at least on the dive side, were clean and we enjoyed the shade, picnic tables and chaise lounges in between dives.

This is the 2nd year we've come here and it's just been great. The people are nice. Kids are having a great time on the rope swing, jumping Plat forms, slides and picnics. I enjoyed the band that weekend and the fireworks. They have several porta potties. The restrooms are out of order on and off. The shower houses for the campers need to be upgraded badly but overall a great family experience.

Have better directions, cleaner areas. The swimming area was very shallow and covered in algae. The slides were broken and looked tragic. The place looked very trashy and worn down. Not well kept roads are very horrible and have no signs to where to go. You also have to pay to do basically anything. $15 for each person is not worth the drive around the “park” “spring”. You can only get to the spring if you are a diver.

Nice area. Only a couple of food trucks so be prepared. Beer is expensive at the store there, so don't forget to pick it up elsewhere. Great spot tho with rope swing and diving docks and slides. You can kayak or float on a tube or go scuba diving/ snorkeling. Adults $15 to get in $6 more to use diving docks.

The place is nasty. The one restroom hasn't been cleaned at all. The grounds need to be weed eated. They have all the rules that no one knows until someone does something. Then they will jump on the kids. No lifeguards on any station. The diving board wood is rotten. The diving board did break while we were here. It cost $15 per person to get in which isn't bad but again it is nasty. Not keep up. We came to visit our kids and grandkids. Just saw there web page. Man was I sorry. Save your money. Very disappointed in the place.

Dove here one weekend and the clarity of the water here rivals the Caribbean in my opinion. We didn't go far into the cave since some in our party has never dived caves before. Great place to camp, swim with family, or even dive a great clear water cave.

My husband did a US Navy Vintage MKV Mark 5 Hardhat dive with some wonderful friends. The place is beautiful. Angela Dockery is the owner, and she always makes it a point to speak to everyone and make them feel at home. I highly recommend Vortex Springs

Everything was broken, rotten, dirty, rusted, and run down. Water was filled with algae. Bulldozer messes all over. The place looked like an abandoned ghost amusement park from the 1950s.
