Lived in SC for years. Had to come home to florida in 2004 when my brother was diagnosed with emphysema. Every time I used the ATM at publix it would cost me $5.95. Yesterday I found a branch of SouthState Bank a few miles from me, thanks to an employee of your bank in SC. This morning I drove to SouthState Bank, used the ATM, and the receipt even gave me my balance. I did a happy dance. Thank you SouthState Bank. Total customer satisfaction thru a bank dedicated to excellence.

Karen was awesome!Professional, prompt, and always on top of things. From beginning to end she made my home buying experience absolutely amazing. Also other Southstate bank employees who were involved in my process were professional as well. South state knows how what they are doing.

Absolutely the worst bank. I banked with this bank when it was Charter Bank. When they sold out to CenterState, I’ve had nothing but trouble! I can’t get in my mobile banking every month. I literally have to call them to get into it. They closed a checking account without my permission. This checking account had plenty of money in it. They advertise that the lobby hours are until 4:00 both on google and on their door. However when I arrived, I was told through a door that the lobby closes at 2pm that I had to take care of my business through the drive thru. They now want to charge me $25 for check for one of my different accounts even though I had plenty of checks for the account that they closed. I’m so done with this awful bank!

After CenterState purchased my previous bank, First Southern Bank, they started to place a hold on my business deposits. This was never done by FSB. My credit card merchant deposits were delayed, as well. Customer service was not only non-responsive but they were overtly rude. After a year of dealing with this behavior I decided to switch banks. I maintained a small balance while I transitioned to the new bank. Subsequently, an electronic funds transfer was attempted that the balance did not cover. I was not informed of the overdraft, via the text alert system, that I had previously set up. A $32 overdraft charge was debited from my account which left the account with $18 negative balance. When I was doing business with First Southern Bank, I would have received a personal phone call. Not anymore with CenterState. They mailed a letter stating that additional charges would apply if the account was not made current. When I went to the branch to pay the $18 negative balance I was informed that an additional $96 (3 more overdraft charges were applied). I was told, by Cory, The Branch Manager in Boca Raton, Florida, that the account would not be closed unless the $114 balance was paid in full.

In my capacity as treasurer of my condo association, oddly enough talked into it by a persuasive occupant draft and popular vote, I transact a lot of business here. This bank and location were previously those of First Southern Bank Fort Lauderdale Branch, but recently purchased by CenterState Bank of Florida. It's a full service commercial bank, national (federal) charter and Fed member, supervised by the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency (OCC). There are three outstanding things I like about this bank. The first and best is the staff that is employed here, totally friendly, polite, professional with an in depth knowledge of what they are doing and always with a pleasant smile and a kind word. Second is that it has a really friendly consumer environment with free coffee if you for any reason have to wait, and then the general décor and environment seems kind of warm, not the "in your face pushy rush" type of place. Also out front and though with a Commercial Boulevard location, they have reserved for banking customer free parking. Though I took pictures of the interior, I'm not posting them at their request, as such, like so many seemingly innocuous little things, gives some rise over concerns for security.
