If you have special needs keep don’t send your kids they don’t know how to handle them, they treat them differently as well but swear they knows how to deal with them. They got picked on by the staff and they are quick to kick them out be very careful not a nice place

Best summer camp in the area!

If I could choose 0 stars I would. I’m not sure why they don’t have it as “Soref JCC” like the plantation one but I’m hoping this gets seen by parents looking to send their kids there.I chose this camp last year entrusting them to take care of my son with Autism while he’s out of state for summer spending time with his dad. Last year he apparently got in “trouble” a number of times and was a “bully”- he’s in a program where I live and has NEVER been described that way. His program has biweekly meetings regarding educational progress, socialization and behavior. I chalked it up to him being away for the first time and the large transition possibly causing aggression or because there was a larger teacher to student ratio. At the end of the summer I reached out 2-3 times via email for a report regarding his behavior and the “write ups” he received. I never heard a thing. I let it go because I figured they were busy and stuff falls through the cracks.Come this year, his dad chose this camp because he hadn’t signed him up and there weren’t many with openings once summer started. Now, I thought everything was going well since I hadn’t heard any negative reports from his dad. My son (5) told me he didn’t like it the first day of camp, once again I assumed he was just missing home. BUT then the camp called me one day regarding him, I told them I was his mom and they said it was the “wrong number” they were trying to call grandma. I mentioned I’m his mother and would like to know as well so they decided to say “no no different m—-h” and hung up. Later I heard from his father he was sent home and called is grandma around the same time. Now I don’t understand why they would LIE #1, and would HIDE information from a child’s primary parent-#2.Now not only has my son said he doesn’t like it, the teachers call him mean names, and the teachers call him mean names everyday BUT they have proven their “sketchiness”, for lack of a better word, and I worry for my sons mental and physical well-being. I see now the previous year they may have been hiding things rather than just letting something “slip”. I’ll be flying across the country over a month early to address this since his father isn’t.I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS CAMP TO ANYONE- PLEASE PLEASE PROTECT YOUR CHILDREN ESPECIALLY IF THEYRE NEURODIVERGENT.I’ll be posting this on the other JCC’s location as well since they’re connected and the paperwork processes through their main office (I submitted the papers last year)

I really like this community center. My daughter plays volleyball here and we also have meetings here for work. It is easy to get around and it is a nice establishment. I look forward to many more times here. Happy to support this place and I hope you would too.

Accidentally posted a 1 star review to the wrong campus. It is meant for the Davie campus not plantation. Never been to the plantation campus.

I live in Plantation the only thing I can say is that every time I drive by this place they do not take care of the landscaping outside of their facility which brings down my neighborhood.they don't mow the grass take care of the hedges put weed and feed down or paint a single thing I do not care about how things look. Which reflects badly upon Plantation. This review is solely based on the external appearance of the establishment. I cannot speak on the people who work inside I hope they're great people.

Watching “Storyville,” an original play by Fred Kaplan, and a fully produced, hilarious send up of the stories we grew up with. Salted with adults-only humor, it is a play that will have all ages laughing out loud.
