I've been seeing Dr. Chaney since I moved to Plant City in early 2024. Every experience has been wonderful- from check in to check out. I always leave feeling like my dog was their top priority and they love on him like he's their own. They are also very up front and clear about cost. I couldn't have found a better Vet! Thank you all for what you do.

I took my dog here a few months ago because he had some blood in his poop and it was diarrhea. I was worried he had salt poisoning from the beach because it happens with him sometimes after we get home but it lasted a little longer than normal and I just wanted to make sure he was okay. It was my first time taking him here and all I wanted was a basic exam. They told me that they couldn’t do it without doing X-rays and bloodwork as well. I explained that I had just lost my job and wanted to do just the exam and if anything came back that said he was unhealthy we’d go from there. Long story short, they told me that my only option was to do it all and I ended up leaving my dog there, drove the 5 mins home, called them immediately and told them I’d be right back to pick him up and I’d take him somewhere else because it was going to be $700+ and I couldn’t afford to do that. They then tell me on the phone they can do just the exam (which I believe as like $65?) and I could pick him up shortly. I told them multiple times on the phone I JUST wanted the exam and would not pay for anything else. I show up to pick him up and they slap me with a $200+ bill because they tried to push antibiotics on me for his upset tummy. When I told them no I’d start with a bland diet at home and if after a few days the diarrhea didn’t fix itself, then I’d come back for the antibiotics and the lady at the front desk told me he wouldn’t get better without the meds. We left with zero meds & only paying the exam and a day later he was fine and back to normal. I will never go back.
* just got an email from them about scheduling a checkup for him and it reminded me of this incident and I wanted to warn others.

A few days ago my Sweet Max a cat who was 20 years old passed away. I just want to thank Dr Layton and her team for all the love and support they showed Max and his Family. I will never forget!

I have an older gorgeous ginger cat, and she can have an attitude at times. Not here. Every time she is done, she is calm and happy. They put a nice warm blanket around her with the calming cat spray inside of the blanket. (A technique I plan to use) Plus, the kindness and love they give her is so rare to find in a vet. Thank you again. My fur babies mean so much to me. Lyla said thanks, too.

While it is a bit on the high end price for vet care, they look like they provide excellent services and take a lot of pride on it. The vet is very friendly and thorough. I love that they are on the same page, preventative services is the best way to care for our pets.

Today (7/2/24) was my Howie’s second visit to Timberlane Pet Hospital & Resort. Dr. Christy Layton and Vet Tech Kaitlyn Glover took fantastic care of Howie on his first visit when he had an ear infection. Antibiotic, ear mousse and a cleaning helped him get better. Today was the follow-up to ensure Howie had healed well. Howie’s doing great according to Dr. Layton and has healed very well. She provided me with an ear cleaner packet with instructions to keep moisture from building up in Howie’s ears. VT Kaitlyn gave it to me and gave me a synopsis of the instructions which was great! I’m very happy with the change I made over to Timberlane!! Howie actually enjoyed being at the vet today!! Thank you Ladies!!!

Kaitlin and Dr. Chaney were excellent! Both were so kind, attentive and caring toward our pets and us, and professional throughout the exams of our dogs. They were patient with one of our dogs in particular, giving him the best treatment possible for a successful visit. We appreciate their expertise and their bedside manner. Top-notch in every way!!

I brought my pup for his first visit today and the entire staff were so friendly and made his visit a very happy one. I will definitely keep bringing him here and will eventually look into getting him into their doggy daycare knowing that hes in great hands.

I just moved here from out of state and needed a followup appointment for my dog's ear infection. They got me right in. Dr Chaney and all the staff were great!

I've been taking my pet here for quite a few years. However, I've decided not to take my pet here any longer. It seems every time I take him, I don't leave there under $300-$400. I understand vets are expensive, but this place seems to rack up unnecessary services each time.

I have been the proud owner of an American Staffordshire named Dozer for over a year now and recently When he broke his chain he got loose a couple times and these people baited and trapped Dozer and when I came by yelling his name one of the employees that were at their car in their parking lot heard me and asked are you looking for dozer I said yes she ran inside and then with a very different attitude came back out to tell me she thought I was somebody else and they ignored the messages that someone was coming to get our dog the next day because we had found out where he was they took him to the pet resource center on falkenburg road and it took us a week to get him back. I really thought it was very nasty and unprofessional to deceive me about having him inside of their building when I was looking for him. I don't know what they gained by what they did but we almost lost our best friend because of their games.
