I have always had great experiences with the staff and owners of Sound Exchange Pinellas. The owner went out of her way to help me when I couldn't get there due to car trouble. Thank you for the excellent service and inventory, especially books!

A good friend introduced me to the Tampa location, and then to the Pinellas location as well (old one off of 49th street) a number of years ago. There was even an old Brandon location I went to a few times, but now I go almost exclusively to the latest Pinellas location. Usually on my lunch breaks while at work. I go in with my running list of whateber CDs I’m looking for and always come away with something! The place just makes me happy.

I can't say enough good things about this place or their other locations. In the past few years I've started re-acquiring physical CDs after listening to the difference between streaming quality and lossless. I keep a list of things I'm looking for (and yes I know you can order things online but sometimes it's the thrill of the hunt) and this place has delivered more than anywhere else I've been when it comes to the "hard to find" things on my list. I had been looking for Seventh Tree by Goldfrapp for AGES and found a copy here just a few months ago. I made the trip from Palm Bay to both Sound Exchange locations purely to keep digging for my wishlist finds. I had been looking for a copy of Strut by Lenny Kravitz for 3 years and this location had it and was very reasonably priced. I literally did a little happy dance! (I apologize to any employees who may have seen that but I was so close to giving up and ordering online after every where I've been having every Lenny Kravitz album than that one that I couldn't contain my excitement with a copy in hand lol) . The prices are extremely reasonable and they have soooo many good albums that would be hard to find offline. In my 3 year journey of cycling through a few different places throughout the state Sound Exchange has become my absolute favorite. It's also worth noting that most places I go that still sell CDs they are RARELY in any sort of organized order. Sound Exchange keeps their inventory very neat and organized compared to their counterparts. If you are looking for that CD, movie, record, whatever it may be from your childhood or teen years, this place is the best place to check first.**Edit after reading someone else's review about this place only having music for white people...I have a number of rap/hip hop albums on my personal wishlist and can say of the dozens of establishments I've been to throughout the state this place has a much better selection/quantity/variety of rap, hip hop, blues, jazz, latin music, there's a whole international section of things.

Rude unprofessional dvd & record grader . Don't waste ur time with this place. Unless it's A List and still sealed that's the only way ur selling to them. Oh ya no DVDs too. No country. Vibe was very disrespectful towards music& artists as a whole. The guy who works behind the register was very knowledgeable and sincere . Just really unimpressed as a music enthusiast ?

Came here to look at vinyls and they have a great selection. Seems a bit on the pricier side but still fair. However, I don't know who was in control of the music today but there was seriously.. experimental music playing on the speakers that was discordant and sort of unpleasant for about 20 minutes straight. I'll give this place another chance but that really made me want to leave as soon as possible.

I went here with movies and cds that were in better condition than what they were selling and had original artwork. This place is in such a bad neighborhood they assume everyone coming to sell things there is drug addicted they won't buy from you and everything I had was in perfect condition. So I have to assume they either don't want to deal with black people or they only want to deal with people that are buying. On the buying side of things they have a great selection of music that mostly white people would be interested in

I have decided on a whim to own the entire Frank Zappa discography catalog. Since he put out 60 albums while he was alive and another 60 after his death that is quite a task. Sound exchange is helping. I got a Lotta used CDs that are reasonably priced.

I own a vintage stereo with a turntable. I always come to this store to buy records. They have great prices on used records and now they have a lot of new ones. They also have a lot of cd's both new and used. I also like looking at the vintage stereo equipment they sell here. They have great prices on this equipment which I'm convinced sounds better than the new stuff if you're playing records or cd's. They have a technician who cleans/repairs the equipment before they sell it which is crucial if you want to own vintage stereo equipment. The people here are very friendly and knowledgeable and they are always playing good music on their vintage system. I don't know how much longer places like this are going to be around so get it while you can!
