I have to give 5 stars for nostalgia alone! Another 5 stars for the amazing experience I lived thru as a 12 y o - almost 14 y o teen in the mid 1980s. Mary Jo Fernandez was a few yrs older & she was the 'privileged' 1 (well earned privileged tho?) who was allowed to practice with Don Perrine on the 'exclusive' I guess...1 court in front of clubhouse. We would watch in absolute amazement, all wanting to be/play like her! The little J Bush kids played in that league, Dowling something something, but they were nvr allowed to hang out with us 'rebel' kids lol who would wander off to Burger King (where i threw away my retainer once oops, but we went back and retrieved it from garbage cuz they aren't cheap!) a lot, along with looking for innocent enough trouble in the suburban streets leading to Dixie hwy and since their Gpa was a VP at that time, I can understand that fact. Mr. Dowling had taken my mom on a date during their Gables High years in the 1950s and fast forward 60 yrs later from their 1 date and 30 yrs from my RP days...I would run into him...guess where? A tennis court no doubt, but...in W. North Carolina! And in a tiny storage unit next to courts that he rented along with my boss of a small non mainstream newspaper & rented for separate reasons, but for almost 4 yrs...I had been going to get papers from said unit, not knowing the 'tennis pro' whom we shared it with...was a man who ran the Miami league I played in 30+ yrs prior and had that date with my mom. Thx to ICE in Miami lol Polar Palace...my mom met my dad in the 60s there. But ya, the ? holy cow of running into him in NC, after all those decades...truly a small world!I remember the clay courts, I didn't like playing on, but they served great purpose as to where a ball landed, inside, outside or on the line with a great ball print?! Having to always wear white. Having to go thru a trial period to be accepted into club as a jr member, unlike most of my friends there whose parents were members but competing and proving oneself was a natural part of life and I was never made to feel like an outsider. My last memories were shortly before I would turn 14, and racing to the clubhouse walls to see where I placed. I placed #2 in girls 14 and something age bracket and the girl above me in #1 spot, shoot name is escaping me but she was a beauty, I do remember that and she played like a pro! Honduras or Nicaragua comes to mind first but I'd hv to deep dive to be precise. Those years were such a great, but short era in my life and filled with epic memories! I have some pictures stashed somewhere of that era. If Royal Palm is comparable to then, now...I highly recommend this club!

I have been a member since 2018. This tells you that I haven't left, I have been to many tennis camps, Key Biscayne, Sanchez Casal, etc. This is one of the best ones yet. If you go here, you won't regret it. The only thing I don't like is we have to wear white clothes only, and most of the courts are clay courts, which is not a good idea to wear WHITE clothes. If you fix that, then I wouldn't have anything else to complain about. All I have to say is, good job. Whoever is reading this, have an amazing rest of your day.

I have been a member since 2012 and the club is managed amazingly well. Even though reservations for the courts are not possible, In all the years I have played I never had to wait for a court.. There are many opportunities to play and many excellent pros to give lessons.
