Mortgage Nightmare…If you are in the market to obtain a mortgage or refinance, don’t come here. It has been the most painful experience in my 56 years of life and I finally told them I’ll go to USAA, since they are efficient and don’t work so hard to dissuade well qualified people from applying. Again, avoid Navy Federal like COVID and use just about any other bank to save the unnecessary runaround and pain!

Been a member for yrs, recently hurt at work and on workman's comp. 4th check I deposited from my wc, with one being double the amount I deposited yesterday and max hold was 2 days. Wake up to email that they holding my chk for 5 days. What?! U accepted 4 others, without issue, that cleared. This is my payroll check. Called manager, who seemed like no care in world, very curt, that I annoyed him for even calling. Apparently it falls under reg cc that went into affect in 1987...so why are they acting on it now and not the 3 other checks that was deposited and good? I will be changing banks along with my 3 kids and husband who also have accounts. Dedicated members don't mean anything any longer.

I was assisted by Joann Millner and Heather Shelton. I have absolutely nothing but OUTSTANDING praise for this duo as they helped me achieve the American dream of homeownership. The icing on the cake was me being able to close 1 day before my birthday. Thank you, thank you, thank you!

Recently, I was filling out an application for a home loan that I did NOT complete or submit. I was just in the process of gathering information before submission. However, I was contacted by Ms. “Kaitlynn Head” with HOME LENDING FIELD MORTGAGEORIGINATIONS who sent me an email asking for additional information even though I was not done completing my application. She contacted me via phone and she had the worst attitude stating my credit scores were not eligible. Threatening that she will have to send my information to another team. I asked her to send documentation of my scores. Kaitlynn refused. On the other hand, I got a hold of my scores which were eligible for applying for a home loan, 700+. After dealing with unprofessionalism, deceit and seems to me, prejudice behavior, I will no longer continue being a member of Navy Federal.

I was really excited to try and get a loan through Navy Federal but I am so disappointed with the service I received. I started the process online and received a call and email from Jacob basically saying that he needed more information from me and to reach out to him asap or else he'll submit what I have and see what happens. I emailed him back and left him a few messages, multiple days in a row, with no response back, then I randomly received a loan estimate, even though I never talked to him and gave him the information he supposedly needed? I finally got ahold of him and we had a great talk on the phone, he promised me that he would meet and beat any other companies quotes since I told him I was shopping around (or I'd get $1,000), and before hanging up, he promised me a quote on a 30 and 20 year loan as soon as we got off the phone (he quoted me for a 15 initially), then he said he might need an hour or so but 100% by the end of the day. I called him 2x and left messages before the end of the day and never got the quotes. I then called and left messages 3 days in a row, with still no response. I also left him multiple emails, with no responses. Finally after trying multiples times I was able to talk to a very helpful woman (I don't remember her name), who also tried to get in contact with him, but he didn't respond to her messages either. She was able to connect me to Anthony, who actually was responsive and kept his promise about getting me a quote. I found a couple other companies with better quotes so I sent those over to Anthony and Jacob. Surprise, surprise, no matter how many emails I sent over the next few days Jacob still never responded to me. I gave him a deadline or else I'd take my business elsewhere, still no response. I finally emailed again saying I'm assuming they couldn't beat the rate and I wanted my $1,000, and literally seconds later I received a call and email from him. I was at work and didn't answer but he said he could match it (but the closing costs were less at the other company so it's literally not matching anything). He basically said that I could shop with them or if not let him know so he can close out my loan and I didn't qualify for the $1,000. I explained via email that they aren't matching the other company, and I don't trust him anymore due to lack of communication for multiple days. I have gotten multiple emails asking to continue my loan application, to turn in more documents to them, a new loan estimate but still for a 15 year loan? It's wild. I never got my $1,000 even though they didn't match or beat the other companies, and he had the nerve to say he hopes I'll work with them in the future. This was a complete waste of time and I'm glad I found another company that actually responds. He told me he was sick for a couple days but he wasn't sick the entire time? And he definitely wasn't sick the day he promised my quotes. Your word goes a long way and unfortunately I couldn't trust Jacob's at all.

I've been a member with Navy Fed for almost eleven years and today was probably my best experience. My loan officer Josh M. Was extremely helpful through the whole process, very patient. Also while waiting for approval of my loan he seemed almost as emotionally invested as I was. I guess sometimes it just takes a vet to help and truly understand the troubles of a vet. An awesome stand-up guy for sure

Caeley in member services (who refused to give me her title today) needs a class on excellent customer service & how to treat members!! She did not have answers to questions on a pre-approved car loan and said it should have been explained online or over the phone… If you don’t know the answers Caeley at least you should know where to get them…If you don’t like working on weekends you should maybe go find another role… But, with your attitude good luck!!!

Need to work on training your associates instead of building a multi million dollar park, and home loan department is a travesty we tried to use them when we were buying and the guy handling our loan went on vacation and didn't tell us almost causing us to lose our home we were offering on, we moved to another lender but had to do credit pulls all over eventually every credit pull DOES affect your score don't let them tell you it doesn't because it does luckily ours was high enough to get a good rate but in this market be careful, we had them close our loan documents and the manager made excuses for the guy handling our loan and said oh well and didn't apologize for it they do not care like the old days.

I applied for a HELOC product with the words "Business Acquisition" as the reason I was applying for the loan. I was quickly given a Conditional Approval, which means they will approve the loan as long as they can verify the information I provided. I was told they don't grant funding of HELOCs for business purposes AFTER I paid over $600 for an appraisal and credit check. I've also filed a BBB complaint as NFCU hasn't responded to my calls and emails about the loan. My processor should have quickly informed me the product wouldn't be approved based on my application information. They proceeded with the process and charged me, even though they knew it wouldn't be approved. This is fraud, in my opinion.
