I have been a member for more that 10 years and I have now cancelled my membership. The only reason I went was for the deep water fitness class. That instructor made sure you worked. Many people came and realized it wasn't your normal easy class and never returned. It was a very good true workout. Before the new YMCA was built, we were able to utilize the entire pool. After the move, they catered to the lap swimmers and many days we were hitting each other trying to work out since we had no room. About a 9 days ago we had a different instructor, which was very unusual. We asked where our instructor was, she said she didn't know. She knew what kind of workout we had because she used to lifeguard during our time. Her class was a joke. After class she bent down with a big smile and said our class was cancelled and she didn't know why. After hours of worry and phone calls we found out our instructor was ok. She LIED. That was nothing new coming from this employee. She has lied to us more than once. The employees are not as friendly as they used to be. I have heard from more than one, they are stressed because of working conditions. Very poor management.

I have attend the downtown Y for 3 years. During that time I have attended regularly the deep water aerobic class. We have had multiple regulars attending the class the entire time I have attended there. A few of the members have been in the same class for 10+ years. Last Friday we had a substitute (one of the lifeguards). We were given no explanation to where our regular instructor was. At the end of class the lifeguard told us that the class was no longer. When we asked questions, we were given no answers. We were left in shock. We didn't know if our instructor may have had a medical emergency, car accident, etc, etc!!! We all felt we were treated very wrong and insensitively! We later found out by reaching out to people other than YMCA employees, that the instructor (which had worked there 40 years!) had quit. We learned that the administration had been treating her terribly which pushed her to quit. We assumed they would find another instructor, but they just removed our class off the schedule completely. We all loved this class and are devasted that there wasn't even an attempt to meet our needs. Many of us can't attend regular aerobic classes due to bad backs, knees, feet, etc. My physician has told me to do water aerobic classes. The other classes offered don't even get my heart rate up. Don't even get me started on the cross dresser in the ladies locker room. Ladies have seen parts that ladies don't have on their bodies. Someone complained, but nothing was done! This Y doesn't care about their members. UPDATE: The response to my review is completely false. No one would tell The 4 participants anything about our wonderful instructor. Everything that was asked was responded to with a shrug and "check social media"! Sad a Christian organization can't even be honest about their own actions.

I love going here always clean and non judgemental and they have plenty of classes for you to choose from. I would definitely recommend getting a membership here

I really wanted to like this gym but just can’t! I did my PT for two knee replacements here and thought it would be a great gym to continue my recovery. I mean it looks nice, has a lot to offer with the pool, pickleball, and classes, but the main reason for my membership is to use the weight machines.
First, the parking situation isn’t the best. The garage is generally packed and the spaces are tight. I’ve had issues finding spots a time or two.
The weight/cardio area is good however the gym bros tend to take over the equipment. Today a few had a few of the leg machines monopolized for over 30 minutes sitting with headphones and phones with several minutes between sets. Ask to work in and get that gym bro look.
The small area off the main floor is generally pretty busy as well with people taking up space and bouncing back and forth between that room and equipment. Made the mistake of picking a spot in there that someone was using in between her many sets in the main floor.
I’ve gone at several different times during the day and it’s the same. For the money, I can workout at the judgement free place with more equipment for a lot less.
Guess this isn’t the gym for me.

This was a facility I enjoyed back when parking wasn’t this much of an issue. The garage you are able to use is horrible. There is never lower parking available, tickets get mistakenly sent out, and it’s very tight for parking and space. I wish parking curbside was an option.
The heat and temperature is constantly fluctuating and feels like there isn’t air flow some days.
There is a limited amount of cardio equipment and it is most of the time being used during the hours everyone gets to go.
There is no wait list, so it has been an issue where someone runs up when you’re waiting or gets mad at you because they were “in line”.
I really try to make use of this facility but it just isn’t convenient as it used to be.

I usually have no issues at the YMCA but Betsy was super rude and unprofessional

The Covid measures this place took were horrendous. They policed masks and distancing with more enthusiasm then they do cleaning the bathrooms. It was straight out of a dystopian novel.
The sauna is akin to a McDonald’s ice cream machine. It is always out of order.
This review was long over due and the final straw was the ridiculousness at the pool:
The pool closes for up to an hour for lightning within a 1 mile radius. The pool is an indoor pool….

Just the best place! This facility makes our downtown complete. The staff is great - helpful and encouraging. The aquatics classes are amazing. Everyone is happy to be involved in becoming fit.

I loved the indoor pool idea but not the over bearing chlorine and poor circulation. The pool area ventilation system was broken and the fumes were so bad I was light headed, dizzy, nauseous, caused trouble with breathing and we ended up having to leave much sooner than anticipated. Other than that I did love the gym and other amenities.

I actually go to Andrews for physical therapy but I get the chance to see all the equipment and the pool!! Great atmosphere... everyone appears happy! There's a lot of kids right now and it's awesome to see them doing something physical....

They are really friendly and clean! They have the best coffee and the parking isn't bad (pretty cheap for on the street parking)! They also have/share a parking garage (free with validation)! They have daycare certin hours. The thing I don't like is you have to pay each month the membership fee and then still pay for the programs they offer($50-$100+)! "That doesn't make since to me! Why am I paying monthly membership if I still have to pay for the programs which is alot of money when the program has stages(your person has to pass or repay the fee each time your person fails aka dont pass!" Also they don't take silver sneakers!

It was my first time here. I brought my kids to the pool, especially my daughter, NEVER AGAIN!!!!!!
THERE WAS A MAN OR A HIGHSCHOOL TEENAGER IN THE POOL WEARING UNDERWEAR!!! YES, UNDERWEAR!!!
MANAGEMENT DIDN'T TOOK ACTION ON IT.
EVEN THOUGH THE LIFEGARDS AGREED ON THIS DISGUSTING INDIVIDUAL BEEN A CONCERN FOR THE MINORS PUBLIC
I AM PRETTY SURE THERE IS A DRESS CODE INSIDE THE POOL AREA.
FRUIT OF THE LOOM UNDERWEAR IS NOT ACEPTABLE SWIMMING GEAR.
