was going to adopt a dog that I can provide a great life for, drove an hour to pick her up. The temporary foster brought the dog in about 30 minutes late for the appointment and made it obvious from the beginning she did not want us to adopt the dog. First she said the dog needed to be with kids, took care of that with grandkid. then advised she would need to be active, advised we had frisbee and ball and played with the dog. Then she said the dog did not play with toys. I took my senior dog who is about 20 pounds overweight per the Vet. she made a very rude comment that she didn't want the dog to end up like my senior dog. I adopted her when she was 8 weeks and she is very active and well cared for. The person in charge decided we would be great with the dog. this foster went to speak with her and they changed their mind. the moral of the story is we are over 60 and this person committed age discrimination. We had the perfect home in the country with a lot to offer all of our animal. the questions they asked were do you take the dogs out with you like to bars and festivals. No we take them to the State park on walks and to the beach fishing. i Am adopting a dog from a non discriminatory shelter. I wish them luck in the future.

Review of thrift shop. I've donated 3 times. First time was treated pretty unwelcoming. Second time kindly. Today I felt like my donations were unwanted and unappreciated. After leaving a large amount of jigsaw puzzles (in like new condition) and a couple other things, I was ignored upon leaving. Thanks? Goodbye? No...nothing.Plenty of other places to donate. I won't be back. You may do wonderful things for animals, but your thrift shop needs lessons in courtesy.

Just spoke with the "president" volunteer of this location called "carol", as I was calling trying to find some vital information for my pet . And was told "I don't want to take any of your time ".... Then she stated "actually I don't want you to take any of my time ". I would not reccomend this location to anyone as the staff or volunteers DO NOT CARE ABOUT YOUR PETS. Questions are questions for a reason and if I don't know something I'm going to ask. Aswell she stated the location was moving to Hudson, and I would like to state that once the location arrives there. Please try to find new VOLUNTEERS especially "president" volunteers to take over the new location . As I do not reccomend her or her attitude to anyone .

I adopted my dog 6 years ago. I have come on tough times. They cannot take back my dog, as promised, due to full capacity. They wasted three days of my finding solutions and after told me they cant take him back leaving him to come homeless with me or be put down. If you can take him, please ask the shelter to contact me.Do not believe the take back promise. Its an empty promise or outright lie.

I spent a day there volunteering. 22 dogs were washed, medically treated, and adopted. It was a great experience.
