I’ve had 2 walk in experiences with my young child and one appointment with my older child at this location. 1. During the appointment for my older child there were no butterfly needles in stock and a smaller “adult” needle was used, which predictably did not work out well for my kid. They stuck my kid in both arms and they were hysterical. I was about to walk out when they miraculously found a butterfly needle in a random drawer. They were successful the third time. 2. The first visit with my young child was unexpected and urgent, so an appointment was not able to be made. They saw us right away and the phlebotomist was excellent with my young child, no tears! 3. The second visit with my young child was planned but due to no early morning appointments available for weeks, we decided to walk in at 6:30am because it was a fasting test. We were the only walk ins at the time. After 15 minutes I informed them we were walk ins and my child was fasting. They said they were “at capacity“ for the day and not accepting walk ins at all. There is no way for a pt to know this upon arrival-no signs and the computer accepted walk ins. I don’t think anyone would have informed us of this if I had not inquired. A kind phlebotomist came and spoke to me. She suggested I make an appointment (obviously I would have if there were any available) or go to a hospital (the script is for Quest and that’s what my insurance accepts) if it was a time sensitive situation. These were not reasonable solutions, but she was sympathetic and trying to be helpful. This review is to inform others about this specific location. If the appointment is for a small child, I recommend calling Quest customer service to have them contact the location directly to ensure they have butterfly needles. If you need to walk in, ask about stand by before deciding to wait because they do not have a system in place to inform pts when they choose to not accept walk ins.

First and foremost these reviews really don’t make sense to me these people literally go above and beyond for their patients they are really not under staffed they just get a lot of patient and sometimes complications come and you can do a walk in might just take a little longer but if they have the time they will take u asap they literally take great care of me I come here for all my test through out my pregnancy and it wasn’t easy for me but they way they have treated me was amazing for me sometimes you have to wait for a drop off because you don’t just drop it off you go into a room and sign off on it like I said sometimes it gets complicated to take someone’s blood out like me my Veins are horrible no matter how much water I drink be kind to these people ! They literally do their absolute best

I went to this Quest location as a walk-in on a Monday. I came in at 130pm. There were two walk-ins left at 300pm and I was next in line. We were told at 323pm that they couldn't see us because they close at 330pm and the other techs are still preoccupied with other patients. I wasted 2 hrs of my time. I didn't realize this was a Quest policy to turn away patients even though they checked in hours prior.

I was told I could drop off my urine specimen without an appointment and someone would come right out. Nope not true. Even when an employee came to the lobby area they refused to take it back with them. So I got to sit in the lobby with my pee. Ridiculous

On 9/16/22 I went to Quest Diagnostics in Palm Harbor in order to get my annual bloodwork done and to get a colon cancer test kit. I have gone there annually for several years for this purpose. I had changed employers since my last visit but as is the standard procedure I gave them my new insurance info before any services were performed. They did not express any concerns regarding my insurance coverage and proceeded to draw blood from me. A few days later I had the results of the blood tests and a few days after that I received an invoice in the mail for the entire amount. My insurance was not listed on the invoice. I called their billing department and I was told that they do not accept my insurance. When I asked why they didn't mention that fact BEFORE performing the service they said I should contact my insurance. I did and they confirmed that they don't do business with Quest. Why wouldn't Quest Diagnostics tell me that in advance so that I could decide whether or not I wanted them to continue? I think their actions are highly unethical and just plain wrong. I have tried to negotiate the bill but they are not interested in anything less than the full amount due. I have refused to pay the bill and now they are sending me to collections. I am willing to pay half in order to satisfy my obligation but I refuse to pay the full amount. So now I will have a blemish on my credit report and my score will drop. I feel that I was totally wronged by them. When I gave them my insurance info and they did not tell me they don't accept my insurance, I interpret that to mean that they do accept it. I work for a large home care company and we would never ever pull a stunt like this.
