We too have experienced the 2 day workweek of Dr Baird. We have also seen the constant revolving door of vets that seem to come and go over the years. We can’t keep up and now it seems neither can they! This is problematic if your dog needs routine tests and monitoring. We once had to wait 8 days for a 2 day test result!
An important test was scheduled with their mobile vet specialist. Doc B assured me she would be there but as usual, but she was out, – this time for 16 days! The results were egregious. The mobile vet was late and upon pick up at 5PM, our dog was unwell. We asked the backup Vet Dr Allen did you look at our dog? No, she does not have the time to review her file, but the specialist wrote a report - she “ is within normal limits” so you don’t have to worry. Except this failure of case management had near fatal results!
The next day our pet is sick, so we call and speak to head tech Libby, who tells us “the specialist just tested your dog yesterday, read the report!” Several hours later we rush our pet to the ER where they want to do a repeat test and we show them the report and they said it cannot be correct. Our pet spent 5 days fighting for her life and suffered. When we called we got excuses, the Specialist was late, its not our fault, etc – pushback!
Since then we have sought care at another vet that actually works normal hours and is even available Saturdays! We and our pets are much happier!

This was the first time boarding our dog Apollo that's almost 2yrs old and the total price I was told on the phone for 5 days went up because they added on more shots and a checkup and not only that, while in their care days after the Vet-checkup Apollo received a WOUND on her backside and they asked me over the phone if I wanted the Vet to look at it, Really! My dog received a WOUND at their kennel on their watch and they want to charge me even more money to have the Vet look at it!!! Besides the kennel looking old and rundown on the inside Apollo will never go back there again! UNACCEPTABLE!

We recently moved here when our dog Murphy was old and on verge of passing. Staff at Country Oaks was very compassionate and caring for a dog they barely had any interaction with in his healthy state. They cared for him and us when the time came to end his life. then we got a new puppy, Marley, a golden retriever. What a handful after caring for the previous older, laid-back Murphy. They provided his health care and vaccinations. He has been boarded with them for lengthy stays on numerous occasions and he's always been happy and energetic when we pick him up. I believe he happily considers Country Oaks and its staff to be his second home.

The staff is caring and professional. Whether it’s annual exam and vaccinations, dental care, or illness, I always know that my pets are in good hands at Country Oaks. I also love the ease of communicating, scheduling, reminders and their rewards program through the PetDesk app!

My dog Luna is a patient at the pain management/physical therapy unit at Country Oaks (Steele Pain Management and Rehabilitation Center). I extremely happy with the care Luna has received. The cost of the Pain management and PT protocol is very reasonable, the staff is professional, kind, and patient, and the facility is immaculate. Dr. Baird is an excellent diagnostician, and Ashely, the PT specialist is absolutely fantastic with my dog.

We only used vet services; however, there is only one doc available 3 days a week. If your fur kid gets sick you'll have to find somewhere else to take them, unless you want to let them stay sick for days until they can get you in.

We boarded our two dogs with this facility and we’ll definitely be using them again. One of our dogs has high anxiety, and unfortunately, usually after boarding ends up sick due to the stress it causes her. (Gastritis, Kennel cough once despite vaccines.) We picked them up yesterday from a 6 day vacation and they were both healthy, happy pups. They each actually ate their meals during their stay (which sometimes doesn’t happen when we’re away) and didn’t seem to suffer any ill effects at all. A point of note: our high anxiety dog suffers from fear aggression with new dogs and this facility only does “playtime” with dogs of the same household, so if you have the same issue, this is a great place to go. Other facilities do playtime as a group, and that just causes more anxiety for our dog, so this was something important to us. We’re very happy with our experience here and highly recommend it to others.

Libby is so sweet and kind. She was great with my guinea pig Hope. He was super happy and not stressed out after his visit with Libby. She updated me on all his info without me having to ask. Hope and I thank you Libby ??
