I was very hopeful for this place when I started and saw the great reviews but those good vibes are over. I have 5 older cars and really needed a reliable mechanic.
I brought the car there to have a problem with overheating resolved. It has now turned into a money pit of a shocking surprise. The lesson here make sure you get the pricing up front before you have them do the work.
The first diagnosis they did for me indicated an issue with the thermostat and would cost $874 to fix. This is a 2011 Mazda with 230K miles on it so it was already debatable if it was worth getting fixed but I said go ahead.
I later get a call after the work was done that it was actually a head gasket that was an issue and it would be an additional $1500 to fix. I said to myself I am committed to the $874 already so I guess I have to go the whole way on this so I said yes. BTW I find it suspect that you don't know a head gasket is blown until after you replace the thermostat, but I am not a mechanic. So about $2400 total if you are with me so far (and I have visual voicemail so I have text versions of all the voicemails proving this).
A couple of days goes by and I get a call that it is actually $3000 and could I come in and pay a 50% deposit. Also, the break pads need replacing.. So I guess I should have asked what break pads cost as you will see in a minute. In my mind a couple of hundred bucks. so let's call it $3400. I go in and pay $1500 deposit with my credit card.. so now I should owe roughly $1900. I have been nothing but nice and patient with everyone there the whole time this is going on. Now I feel taken advantage of.
Again a 2011 Mazda with 230K miles. If I knew all this in advance I would have never moved ahead.
Today I get call that the car is ready. Just go into the gas station and pay and then I am done. I get there and the guy is looking for an ADDITIONAL over $4K which will bring the total of the repairs up to over $5500. So start with $874, then $1500 then $3000, then $5500 the last 2 without notifying me on this.
I am not sure what to do but I will not be letting it stand there. So far have submitted information to the State Attorney General and an attorney suggests small claims court.
Be careful cause they really did seem like nice guys.
