This is a lovely county park with so much to do! There's picnicking and grilling, camping, big empty fields where you can do Frisbee or tag football or whatever you want to bring. There's a historic residence and the state's first swimming pool. Canoe and kayak launches and places to fish. LOTS of hiking trails. The smaller ones were all loops that led to the same area, so you could do a 1.5 mile loop, then walk over to the next one and do another mile, and choose from 3 others of similar size. It's not like being on a 5 mile trail and realizing halfway through that you don't want to do it more but you have to walk all the way back anyways. That said, there were much longer hikes to the West for those who want a more substantial hike. There's no entrance fee to this county park.... But it also has underwhelming in bathrooms that were out of toilet paper. All things considered, though, this is definitely a place to visit many many times.Restrooms: Not phenomenal, but not disgusting.Picnic area: Grills and pavilions and picnic tables

Beautiful grounds, unique history, numerous trails, great birdwatching. Cabins are clean, nice floor plan & screened porch & stocked with basic necessities, but not bath soap or hair care products.

I love going to the Pow Wows here. As well as hitting some of the trails, or just sit by the water and meditate

My first time visit to the Princess Place Preserve was for the Pow-wow held on the last weekend of February 2024. It was a beautiful day and the natural beauty of the land was on full display. The history of the Preserve is fascinating and I plan on returning when the buildings are open to thepublic. It’s a very serene and peaceful to visit; highly recommended if you want to be surrounded by nature and don’t need a lot of man-made activities.
