I left the store with a bag filled with literary treasures, my heart brimming with joy and gratitude for the wonderful experience. If you appreciate the charm of a bygone era and have a deep affection for books, I wholeheartedly recommend visiting this splendid, old-style bookshop. It is a haven for bookworms and a testament to the enduring magic of literature.

A beautifully curated "must visit" if you like literature. Filled with rare, museum worthy items and friendly people. Signed books from Hemingway, Washington, US Grant, and so many more. I felt like I was in heaven, especially when I found they own the gorgeous cigar bar behind the book store. Truly a special place.

Gorgeous book store with an amazing collection. I heard that the owner had connections to the Tolkien family so was exited to make the drive and look at the collection. Unfortunately, when I got there, it became clear that the man working was an uninterested employee. He barely said hi. I would suggest that if you have a plan to make a purchase, call ahead and make sure the owner is there. That is what I will do next time.Still had a nice experience though!

Do you love books? Imagine a place filled with the world’s most famous books…most of them signed by the author. This is that place…a beautiful jewel of a book store on Palm Beach’s fabled Worth Avenue. Hemingway, Fitzgerald, Einstein, Woolf , Garcia Marquez are all there! I know my next descriptive word is overused to the point of obnoxiousness so forgive me….but Raptis Rare Books is awesome.

Won't return calls or email on requests. Absolutley rude. Strange. Not sure how you can conclude no calls from me when you don't have my number here. Sort of a validation.

I can't believe I haven't written a review earlier. I love this place and make a point to go in every time I'm in Palm Beach. Matt Raptis is one of the most charismatic people you'll meet and has exquisite taste. If you're looking for rare and historically significant texts or just want to see one of the most beautiful stores there is, you must go here.

I drove all the way to Worth Ave. for this store and they were no where to be found. I hyped up my kids about the store and this place does not exist nor does anyone pick up the phone. They need to update their Google listing and Facebook.

What a wonderful place! Matt is experienced, knowlegeable, friendly and accomodating. And the inventory is truly "rare" as the name says. Palm Beach is lucky to have Raptis Rare Books. Highly recommended!

The selection of first edition books in many areas of interest is unparalleled. Matthew and his staff provide a welcoming atmosphere to find the perfect gift for special people we all know who think they have it all - that is until they are surprised with a treasured autographed first edition book from a favorite author. Finding that perfect book for yourself can be a gift to yourself, and then a gift to share with those closest friends and loved ones who mean the most.

Visited here for the first time yesterday. I’ve always heard such great things about their collection of rare autographed books, and walking in was magical. You get the feeling like you’re in an exclusive library (yes I felt like Belle walking into the Beast’s private library). We were greeted by the owner and immediately offered water, a glass of wine, or scotch on the rocks. I opted for rose since it was still morning. We swirled our drinks and talked about the books, they let my daughter run about in awe of all the books (don’t worry her 1yr old self didn’t get into the goods). You get the feeling that the owner really cares about the value of the books, but more so, what the books mean to the individuals who have owned them or will eventually own them. He seemed to really want to help people connect with what matters to them. I had my eye on a first edition Shel Silverstein, Where the sidewalk ends, one of my childhood favorites. But he has rare finds from JD Salinger, copies of the Koran, the Bible, classics like Huckleberry Finn, a few of Charles Dickens’ work, and so much more. I understand now why people say this store is a “must see” on Worth Ave. It’s like it’s own museum of books where you can take a moment, have a sip of wine, and share memories with your daughter about your favorite reads, and see the wonder it brings to her eyes. I’ll definitely be back again!
