We have used PODS several times in the last few years, but this time our new condo community is very small with VERY LIMITED parking .
Thank goodness we lucked out and had Mike from PODS delivering our container. He was really nice and we were impressed watching him use his expertise to get the POD in place . The parking spaces are REALLY small but Mike made it happen. And ,Of course, in Florida we have a hurricane coming (?!#%!) in a few days so we were anxious to get unpacked and moved in ahead of it . Without Mike I don’t know if it would have happened.
My son emptied the 16x8 container in record time and I already made arrangements to have the empty container picked up tomorrow ahead of the impending weather. We highly recommend using PODS .And a special thanks to Mike!

The absolute worst experience of my life. This company will say anything to sell you their services (including outright lies) and then leave you stranded and take your money in the end.
I booked a 16 ft POD from Ohio to Florida. Up front I had concerns about the delivery of the POD to the house I was moving from. I told the representative my concerns (busy roadway, driveway issues) but they used Google maps and Google images and said everything was fine and promised me delivery. I gave them the city I was moving to (keep this in mind as it becomes important in a moment) and booked the services.
Two days before my loading date, the local PODS warehouse franchise (so here is breaking point #1, PODS doesn't tell you this, but their locations are franchises, and each local warehouse is given WIDE discretion as to what they can do) calls me up and tells me they refuse to deliver my POD due to living on a busy street and my driveway being near an intersection. I have to load my POD in the parking lot of their warehouse during limited access hours. Final decision. PODS corporate is of no assistance. This forced me to rent a truck over three days to load the POD.
Now to the next breaking point. PODS can not track your container easily once it ships. They subcontract that shipping to third party trucking companies, and if their trucks don't have GPS on them, it's anyone's guess where your POD might be. In my case my POD went missing for 3 days. PODS website said one thing, their outsourced customer service center said something else (both were wrong btw) but in the end my container did arrive in Palm Bay, FL. Here is the worst breaking point.
The staff and management at the Palm Bay facility are all liars. It must be a job requirement to work there in my opinion. I scheduled my delivery date and it was accepted. The night before my delivery of my POD to my new home at 7:27 pm, a local PODS representative calls me to refuse delivery. Their reasoning changed over the course of multiple phone calls during the next week, but the best I can figure out is that their local franchise has an issue going with numerous communities that have Homeowners Associations in South Florida as well as with the City of Vero Beach Police Department. As a result, even after providing PODS with a letter from my HOA management, a map of where to park the POD and a general release of liability (all requested by PODS) they refused and I had to hire movers and a truck to drive my items the 45 miles from their warehouse to my home. Plus I incurred over a week of hotel costs and expenses waiting to get this straightened out.
Bottom line, NEVER EVER use PODS. Even if their rates are lower than a full service mover, by the time you get screwed by their various "rules" , made up policies that you can't see on their documents and they can't send you a copy of even when requested, and their downright lies, you will spend far more money. Either move yourself or hire a moving company.

Mike was very professional. He called in advance and gave an accurate time of arrival although the pick is contactless it was nice to know when he would be there. He was very attentive to ensure that he did not damage anything in the move and noticed he was also very sensitive to traffic on my street. Would highly recommend!

When our POD arrived we couldn’t open the door. The delivery driver was very helpful. After he tipped the unit back and forth we were able to open the door. Only to find our belongings tossed around and damaged.

Fantastic! So easy from scheduling initial pod delivery in CA shipping cross country to store for five months in temperature controlled warehouse in FL to final delivery in Melbourne Beach FL. Final pod pickup by Mike was fantastic! I wish I could remember all their names to give credit where credit is due for excellent service and kindness. Way more cost effective than traditional moving company, plus the referral to Pack and Load Services was great. Thank you for all you do.
